After coming to our home to survey our yard, Fili provided us with a quote that outlined everything that needed to be done along with a breakdown of the costs. The quote also specified payments and when they would be due. If you're like me and like everything in writing, then you will appreciate Fili's level of professionalism in that aspect. The crew made significant progress on the project each day, and they finished in the exact amount of time that Fili estimated they would--and that's with an add on that we asked for after the start date. They removed and replaced over 100ft of wooden fencing, built a retaining wall, added electrical outlets, and layed cement all in just a week! Every day that they're on site, they do what they need to do, and they always clean up before they leave. They work fast without compromising the quality of work that they do, and they are so easy to work with. I highly recommend Tropical Construction to anyone looking for the services they provide. Our list of corrections is incredibly long and there's no need to air out all of the dirty laundry at this point, but it's important to point out that it's been far from a good experience in having them handle a very expensive project. Nearly 2- 1/2 years of dissatisfaction, disappointment and frustrations and we are roughly a year into trying to get an important repair addressed.

Unfortunately, the project turned into a stressful, drawn-out, and disappointing experience. What was promised as a 2-3 month job took over a year to complete, primarily due to delays with the coping color and other "complications." Communication about timelines was inconsistent, and the prolonged process left our yard unusable for most of the year. To make matters worse, 15 plants died after planting, including a palm tree, which was especially frustrating given the investment. The concrete work is also poorly done. We have white powder residue, chips, cracks, and noticeable water pooling because the concrete wasn't leveled properly. When we brought this up, we were told the concrete issues were the fault of "Holiday Rock" in Adelanto, not something we should have to deal with as the customer. We also had an issue with the price changing after our agreement because they "forgot to include certain costs." Thankfully, we were able to resolve that, but it added to the overall frustration. Juan Sr. is a nice person, and the team clearly knows landscaping, but that doesn't make up for the poor results and lack of follow-through. They've come out multiple times after completion but still haven't fixed the concrete issues or addressed the dead plants adequately. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but when you spend this much time and money, you expect the job to be done right. Unfortunately, in our case, it wasn't.

I have had to redo more than 70% of the work he did since he walked off the job leaving it incomplete. EVERY YEAR since 2018 I have had to hire someone new to come back and fix the work he did . I have had to completely redo the plumbing in one of the houses because he folded the hot water line and cemented it in costing me more than $3,000. He did not do any of the electrical correctly, I did not pass inspections, and I had to rehire someone to undo all the work he did and do it correctly. I had to completely redo the flooring in the other house after it only lasted 3 years because he didn't level or create a solid subfloor. He actually used cut up vinyl plank flooring to level the subfloor. I am currently having to redo the tub and shower enclosure because of poor installation. He never completed the exterior painting. The water heater wasn't installed correctly. There is not enough space on Yelp for me to detail all the things he did wrong. He is not a skilled contractor and has zero integrity. Every time I need to redo something I hired him to do I will come back and update this as his work is still coming back to haunt me even 8 years later. Hire at your own risk.

Just a note: The one bad review Michelle had on here, I decided to read more from that person and that person had issues with almost every company they have ever worked with, so keep that in mind when hiring Diamond Construction they do good work and if there was an issue it was probably not Michelle and her company that was the problem.

Vincent told us the business belonged to his mother and that Teresa Avalos would be receiving the payment through Zelle. After receiving our deposit, communication became increasingly difficult. A few weeks before my mother's wedding, they stopped responding altogether. We made multiple attempts to contact them by phone and message but never received a response. The event date arrived, and they never showed up. My mother was left scrambling on her wedding day after paying for services that were never provided. To this day, our deposit has not been refunded, and Vincent eventually deleted his Facebook account. Because of our experience, I do not feel these individuals conducted business in a professional or trustworthy manner. I encourage anyone considering hiring this company to do their own research, ask for references, and proceed carefully before sending any money.
