Stopped here after a hike at silver springs, such an AMAZING restaurant. The wait wasn't terrible, the ambiance was so amazing and me and my family couldn't help but keep looking around at everything on the wall and the ceiling. We ordered the gringos queso appetizer and the dip and salsa was so fresh! I ordered the Birra beef tacos SO GOOD, unlike anything I've ever had. The bourbon peach bread pudding was SO SUPERIOR. So phenomenal and highly recommend. The waiter was so nice and gave us great suggestions for food and food came out very quick. Alcohol beverages were very yummy too. I use to like this place but the service and food have really gone down. I gave it a couple of tries before updating my review. It's dirty, the bartender wasn't very busy but forgot about us and was rude. The drinks were terrible and the food was just edible. I definitely won't be back! read more

How this place has 4stars is beyond me. Maybe it's a small town thing? Not sure. Three of us came here for a bite after kayaking at Silver Springs. We ordered two drinks & 3 entrees. Drinks came out relatively quick - though I think they were mostly mix and very little alcohol content. Ordered the Buffalo chicken salad with bleu cheese dressing, chicken mojito salad with the mojito dressing and boneless wings with waffle fries. The wings were absolutely pitiful looking and looked like they were cooked within an inch of being burnt. They weren't even tossed in sauce, just sauce drizzled on top. The Buffalo chicken salad was pretty pathetic too. Barely any chicken placed on iceberg lettuce. No toppings? The chicken was "drizzled" with Buffalo sauce. The bleu cheese dressing was awful. I think they mix with ranch to make a little go a long way. Gross. The only thing that was remotely decent was the mojito salad. Still lacking salad toppings but the chicken was nice and the mojito dressing had really good flavor. I'm assuming this is more of a local spot & the patrons don't know what quality food tastes like. Placed a delivery order for a burger, side, and pink lemonade. The delivery driver, brought me my burger and side... Called the restaurant to ask about the discrepancy, and was told, "I forgot to give your beverage to the driver, do you want to come in and pick it up?" Do I want to come to your restaurant and pick up my delivery order? Let me think about that... No. Was then asked if I wanted it taken off of my bill, really you had to ask if I still wanted to pay for the idem I was not receiving? I then had to wait for 5 minutes for the "manager" to come to the phone and ask me - wait for it - if I wanted them to take the idem off of my bill... Almost passed by at first, turned around & went back. Great decision. My kind of place - eclectic & great food & beer. They had a dessert nacho menu! I had the pork nachos, our sweet waitress' recommendation & they were delish, full with pork. My hub has the Cuban, with a mojo dipping sauce & spicy mustard. Two great beers filled us up. Amazing food and atmosphere. We ordered Crazy Cuban Sandwich, Mojito Pork Tacos, Pulled Pork Nachos, and the Pulled Pork Sandwich. My dad got the pint of coors and I had the mojo brew. We also got the sweet potato fries, onion rings and the red beans and rice for the sides. My mother also ordered the unsweetened tea. Everything tasted amazing and the portions were huge. There's a lot to eat and everything was so well made. The thing that caught my eye about this place was the bright blue the building was painted and I had decided it's a place that I wanted to try, as we parked I heard rock music place and automatically knew this was going to be good. The interior of the building was amazing and I loved how they made music the key focus. The waiter was also very good and attentive. We absolutely love MoJos, we are regulars and have been going since opening, tonight was our 1st worst service experience at MoJos.. she brought our drinks...we had to ask for menus twice. You would think with 2 behind the bar that we would have our food order taken in a timely manner, NOT.Yes I realize that mixing drinks is the bartenders responsiblity, but being ignored is not acceptable, one was on her unsanitised cell phone and sipping on her drink, No one even checked on us to refill my empty glass. The worst thing a server can do is give a good server BAD service,Totally ignored and no happy face. We left $3 for the ice tea and left. Went here last night with my boyfriend and his parents. Nice drink specials and a pretty good Cuban sandwich. (Pardon my bias because my sister-in-law's family owns a Cuban cafe in south Florida.) The decoration is quirky and music oriented which I loved so much. Our waitress was sweet and funny. The service was decent, but it was just because they were clearly quite busy which I didn't quite expect on a Thursday at 7pm. We also happened to go on trivia night. (Go Team Richard! Haha.) Unfortunately, we fell from 1st place in the 2nd round to probably 3rd after the 3rd round/end of trivia. I had a ton of fun playing trivia here and it was awesome because we couldn't have our phones out. Would love to come back next time I'm in town! read more

The sounds of the Blues are floating in the air and the vibe is very Bourbon Street. Even the various flat screen TV's inside this establishment are showing legendary musical performances from some the best Blues legends. If you go to the East Ocala location, like we did, you will notice an entire band's set of instruments hanging upside down from the ceiling...It's pretty impressive. Local artist Deb Grant hand painted most of the decor and every table in the restaurant, as well as painting in a tower area that hoists a 37 guitar chandelier at 40 feet in the air. Mojo Grill features a menu that includes burgers, empanadas, a Cuban pork dinner, Cajun chicken pasta, shrimp and grits, and a large selection of tasty appetizers. Entrees range from $7.99 to $14.99. There are enough entree selections to satisfy the pickiest of eaters, and they even have a gluten free section to choose from. In addition to craft beers, Mojo also has a good cocktail selection as well. The names range from Voodoo Child to Hellhound and are loaded with a variety of alcohols. Pop's Cajun Boiled Peanuts were fun to eat at a restaurant. I love boiled peanuts, but usually grab some from a roadside stand. These were just as good. The Fried Pickles were crispy dill chips tossed in Cajun batter and served with a Cajun ranch dipping sauce. They were a big hit at our table, but a tad salty. Shrimp and Grits are on menus everywhere these days, but the Southern Style Shrimp and Grits with Applewood bacon, cheddar cheese grits and Cajun alfredo sauce was a very satisfying dish. Rondo's Famous Cuban Pork Dinner was a hearty portion of tender and juicy marinated pork in rondo's secret mojo sauce. The Cajun Dip is Mojo Grill's take on a French Dip with Cajun rubbed roast beef,swiss cheese and au jus for dipping. A really good sandwich with a little extra zing to it. The Rasta Pasta is a penne pasta dish with sauteed bell peppers tossed in jerk alfredo sauce then topped with jerk chicken. The heat of the spices and the creaminess of the sauce made for a unique and delicious flavor profile. My only disappointment at Mojo Grill was the Churrasco Steak. This is an 8 oz hand cut skirt steak grilled and topped with grilled onions. The steak is served with house made chimichurri, black beans and rice and sweet plantains. The steak was a little tough and had way too much excess fat. If you happen to find yourself out near any of their three locations stop by. It's worth it just for the atmosphere alone. read more

Would have been happier if I had actually gotten my meal. First time visit. I ordered the Mahi - no description on menu and waitress was new and could not tell me what came in it. I am allergic to peppers and it was covered with them. Waited over about an hour for a re-fire that never came. Rest of party finished so I ended up leaving with no food. My wife and I split the hot dog and crinkle cut fries. The dog was a big Nathan's and tasty. It was bacon wrapped which was fine but not necessary. The fries were crispy and well cooked. Wow! Such a great surprise. Hubby and I got to Ocala around 1 this afternoon and wanted some good burgers. Now, our criteria are: the beef has to actually tasts like beef, the burger has to be 1/2 pound in order cooked to medium-rare but chared outside and still be juicy, the buns have to be toasted and something other than generic grocery store brand. Will never step foot in this place again. Food was so terrible even the waitress openly stated she was embarrassed to serve it to us due to how bad it looked. It tasted just as bad. She explains it all to the manager who then walks up to the table and asks what's wrong. I guess I have to explain it twice now, or justify why I cannot stomach to eat it. For the record, My wife's shrimp and grits was so dry and salty the waitress commented that it didn't look good. My cheeseburger came out with two slices of cold cheese, like right out of cooler cold, and cooked beyond well done when ordered medium rare. Fries cold, rubbery and appeared to have been fried then thrown in grease to reheat them 20 minutes ago. Our waitress was running a mile a minute while 4 other servers were leaning at the hostess stand watching the football game. I paid for our two iced teas and left hungry and in a hurry. Met family from out of town here after looking for a good place off and near 75. So glad to have found this quirky, fun, and yummy spot! You can't miss the big blue building!!! Our server Lisa was attentive, and was able to handle an 8 top table with ease. Never had to ask for a refill and she was very versed in the menu and gave us get recommendations! What we ordered, The wings were SO BOMB!!! We got signature with the Memphis BBQ and also some Signature Medium and hands down some of the best wings I've had in awhile! Tasty Ranch as well! We also got chips with salsa and queso which was good. The Crazy Cuban was also spot on. Birria tacos, the braised beef fajitas, pork fajitas, and Baja chicken bowl all were tasty and I would definitely come here again! Awesome came here in haste to get out of hotel while hurricane Irma was heading towards us. Went out for dinner but all places were closed. Had my had two mid 70 min and aunt with me as I was assisting. During the storm. This place was exceptional from the front for on back !
