Donut chicken sandwich ($13): breaded chicken breast with pickles and coop sauce on a glazed donut. Delicious!
    Eric S.

BURNIN' DOWN THE HOUSE This popular chain serves top-tier hot chicken, but be warned: their spices are absolutely scorching. When I first heard that Fry the Coop was coming to our neck of the woods, I was ecstatic. Many years ago, I discovered the magic of their Nashville hot sandwich and it was love at first bite. Flash forward a decade and Bolingbrook now has their very own FTC on the corner of Lily Cache and Weber Rd. The original Nashville chicken sandwich ($11) is the obvious choice, but don't sleep on the spicy honey butter chix sammy ($11.75). If you're down with a fork-and-knife affair, the Messy Fries ($9.25) are a good value. Their seasoned house fries ($4) are very tasty. Other sides include mac & cheese and potato salad. A 3-tender plate w/fries is $12.50. For comparison, you can get 2 tenders w/fries @ Dave's Hot Chicken for $12.50. The same 2 tender combo w/fries @ Burnin' Mouth (inside Yorktown Mall) is only $9, and you can get a 3-tender combo w/fries & drink for $11 at Slim Chickens. Fry the Coop is pricey, but not outrageous. I recently found out they use six different spice blends for their hot chicken. You can pick from 'country' (paprika), 'mild' (cayenne pepper), 'medium' (habanero), 'hot' (ghost pepper), 'crazy' (Trinidad scorpion), and 'lil insanity' (Carolina reaper). Based on my experience with the eye-watering potency of Level 4, I assume Level 5 will send you to urgent care. Level 6 might kill weaker humans. I've never seen or heard someone order 'lil insanity', but I know it comes with a waiver and staff ask "are you sure this is something you want to do?" Let that sink in for a minute: they use habanero peppers in their MEDIUM! At most other places, habaneros are treated as an apex pepper, something not-to-be-exceeded. I can't wrap my head around the fact that there's two levels BEYOND 'hot', which should be called "Ambulance Ride" and "u died, bro". * TL;DR * I've loved Fry the Coop for a while now, and to have them ~this~ close by is probably a curse as much as it is a blessing. The quality is unmatched, but it's difficult to justify dropping $11/sandwich plus another $7 for fries + drink every visit. The chicken is succulent -- whether in the form of sandwich or tenders -- and their proprietary blend of spices is otherworldly. Fry the Coop's heat levels do not play around, so I strongly recommend choosing a grade below what you'd normally order. Once they coat the food in their wicked seasonings, there's no going back. Order happily, tread carefully, and have a glass of ice water ready just in case.

The Lil Insanity spice level definitely packs a punch, but it's not the hottest thing I've ever eaten. I paired it with the Nashville, and the combination was incredible. The coleslaw balanced the heat, making it much more manageable. Honestly, you can't go wrong here. The food is nicely done and absolutely worth it! The place is super clean as heck which is truly appreciated!

Fry The Coop was definitely a stop I would recommend you make, especially if you want to take a few moments and admire a lot of the old pictures that are carefully hung throughout the restaurant. I'm not sure if there is a rhyme nor reason to a theme of the pictures. Most of them are rather old but I'm not sure how it connects to the restaurant. Regardless I did take a few moments to look at the various pictures and most of them have a connection to Chicago and even Bolingbrook which is definitely appreciated. The employees definitely seem to engaged and were able to answer any questions I had about the menu which consists of various options all based around chicken nuggets and tenders, even including a variety of sauces. I'll be back and I recommend you do the same.

This the tenders Platter with Mac and Cheese and Cole slaw, we tried a couple of sauces they have a nice selection.

Went to the new " Fry the coop" in Bolingbrook and it was Delicious, I love that you get to choose the heat level you want, we had the "Tenders platter " with Mac and cheese and Cole slaw, the Mac and cheese was very good the chicken was spot on the meat was juicy and it had just the right amount of breading, we also the " Chicago Hot " sandwich I ordered it medium because it was my first time trying their heat levels it was made to perfection absolutely delicious the giardiniera was so flavorful with a little heat, next time I'm ordering my Chicken the next heat level up, I also had the spicy fries such great flavor similar to the fries you get at an old Chicago Hot Dog stand, I loved everything about this place I can't wait to go back, I also loved the picnic table seating it was very laid back, if your looking for a place to try a Chicken Sandwich give "Fry the Coop" a try.

    Cute picnic style tables.

The food was delicious. We were greeted as soon as we entered, the young lady was very sweet and explained the menu and options clearly. My daughter and I ordered the Spicy butter and the Original Nashville. A really cute place to have lunch or dinner. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because when our order was called we didn't know he was speaking to us and got up to get our order... no biggie right? Well every single order taken after ours was served and brought to the customer at their table by gentleman that called our order... so the inconsistency was not there and made us feel a certain way.

Went to Fry the Coop Bolingbrook location because for the past week I heard nothing but good things about the small chicken chain. And wanted to try them out, I was there at 11:55 am today and a really nice lady Mikahla worked the register she was nice, patient and pleasant to talk too. I didn't realize til last second that the medium equaled to habanero spice so I asked to change it to mild and she immediately requested the kitchen crew to change it from medium to mild instead, thank you for adjusting my request so well Mikahla. The Chicken and Cheese Sandwich is 11.95 a la carte this doesn't include the meal if you want the meal its 5.99 more for a fry and large drink. This place is on the pricey side so please be aware if you want to stay at minimum of $20. So the chicken and cheese sandwich and a small house fry is 4.59 a la carte for the fries. With tax my total was 18.20?!Wow!! Well let me tell ya folks was it worth the 18.20 the answer is Yes. It was definitely worth the money, the chicken sandwich traveled well and stayed warm during the travel home. Their house fries although this is my first time trying beef fat fries they had an interesting flavor to the fries. The fries have their skin on so kept half of the fries crispy while the more lengthy fries are crispy and fluffy inside. They had about 10 customers dining in at the time I entered and waited for my food. Wait time for my food was 5 minutes so great customer service and great food. Thank you again guys I will come back soon.

It's fast casual and you'll see some kiosks/tablets to order once you walk in. We made our selection and then didn't have to wait too long before our freshly fried chicken sandos and fries were ready. I ordered a milk tea and a mini cup of chai just because I wanted to try everything. This place has five stars because of how freshly fried the food was. There is nothing better than biting into a fried chicken sandwich and the released steam is almost hazardous. I have a high heat tolerance, and this sort of thing cannot be re-created at home. Alas, we do not have an industrial deep fryer. We also ordered some fried pickles that came with a sauce. It's hard to hate something so delicious when it's deep fried, to be honest. Get your milk tea, chai, and fried chicken fix all at once place. I'm glad there is Chi Tea in the world, the people need this concept! Five stars.

Chicken loaded fries were good, but honestly as nice and crunchy as the fries were, I think next time I'll just get the fries alone. Chi sauce is a bit too spicy for me, but nice taste. (IT'S) ALWAYS SUNNY IN BOLINGBROOK…read more The spirit of Philly has come to the western suburbs, and with it they've brought their signature cheesesteaks. Charley's is a newcomer to the busy intersection of Boughton & Weber, having taken over a spot previously home to Firehouse Subs (which coincidentally also sold Philly-style cheesesteaks). This location between KO Sushi and a Pearle Vision opened in late April 2023. The buffalo chicken philly ($6.50 for a small) is delicious: sliced chicken, melted provolone, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and hot sauce. I've ordered this twice in as many weeks, and both times I've wolfed it down. One of these days I'll definitely get the Old School Cheesesteak ($8.50). Charley's touts their wings; you can get 6pc regular ($9.50) or 10pc boneless ($10) tossed in your choice of sauce. Options are - from mildest to hottest - sweet teriyaki, garlic parmesan, lemon pepper rub, bold BBQ, Thai chili, Korean BBQ, hot honey, buffalo, and mango habanero. Halfway through dinner the other night, I encountered a big ol' bone (nooooo) in my allegedly boneless wings..... perhaps they should amend this to say "99% bone-free" wings. Few things are worse than expecting a smooth chicky nuggy and chomping down on something sharp and/or brittle. Talk about an appetite killer. I like their style of french fries, simple but satisfying. Try 'em loaded with cheese & bacon ($3.80). The guy who rang up my order was friendly, and even though it took a while for the food to come out, they're a 'hot & new' business with a steady flow of customers, so a wait is to be expected. I cashed in a coupon for $5 off of $20, plus I racked up double points by scanning the QR code via the Charley's mobile app. I've become quite the rewards redeemer as I enter the penny-pinching Scrooge McDuck phase of my life (mid 30's). Every cent saved counts, amirite?? * TL;DR * "Can I offer you a cheesesteak in these trying times?" - Frank Reynolds, probably As much as I enjoy(ed) Charley's buffalo chicken philly, finding a large bone in my boneless wings was a massive turn-off. Needless to say I'm no longer taking any chances, so I'll stick with Bdubs as my preferred provider of boneless wings. You'd hope that a place with 'cheesesteak' in their name would put together a tasty one, and Charley's didn't disappoint. Let's just say I wouldn't have bothered to download their app if I wasn't planning on returning fairly often. Pretty good stuff. Recommended.

LESS FOR MORE This…read moreHalal chicken spot charges an awful lot for their food. The Port of Peri Peri has a storefront next to a Dunkin on Weber Rd in Bolingbrook, about half a mile north of I-55.  We tried them once before (in 2020) hoping for a better experience five years later, unfortunately that wasn't the case. My biggest hangup is that everything is just too expensive.  A ¼ chicken is $10 and comes with no sides, which are $4.50 each.  Compare this to Nando's where the same ¼ chicken is $7.75 and sides are just $3. The chicken & rice bowl ($18) was my wife's pick and she enjoyed it, however I don't think it was a good value.  Twenty bucks for what amounts to 4 chicken tenders over rice?  C'mon. I will say that their stuff is legitimately SPICY.  Even the 'mild' has plenty of punch, nevermind the 'hot' which sent me into a coughing fit.  Definitely steer towards the lower end of their heat scale. Their pop machine was out-of-order (and it appeared to have been for some time).  Dining room chairs weren't the comfiest, and the random chandelier - although elegant - doesn't in with fit the ambiance. Employees were nice. I used a coupon mailer for $5 off, which made the eyebrow-raising cost a bit more tolerable.  Without one, I probably wouldn't return. * TL;DR * I'm not a fan of overpaying, be it clothes, cars, or chicken(s). An a la carte sandwich here is a whopping $14!  (only $9 at Nando's) Also of note, these Peri fries don't come with a special mayo or anything for dipping.  Perhaps corn is a better choice? The best thing I can say about Port of Peri Peri is that they don't play around with spices.  When they say something is hot, they mean it.  Other than that, not too many redeeming qualities here.
