    banana pudding

There's one thing that you have to get here - and that's their banana pudding. It did seem like their cupcakes had a lot of hype as well, so I got one of those also. The banana pudding was very good. Does it completely live up to the hype? I'm not sure - I think there are better desserts in the city. But it's still very good. What makes this special is the way the Nilla wafers sit inside the pudding - kind of like they're buried alive looking for the moment that someone discovers them when they break down the top layer of the pudding. Inside, they soften up to create a crumbly cake-like texture, which is just awesome the moment you get to it. As someone who's not really a fan of banana-based desserts, I thought this had a great balance between sweetness and banana flavor. It's airy, smooth, and delicious all the way through. The cupcake, though, was not good. While the frosting was decent enough - the bottom was just unbelievably dry. It tasted worse than grocery store cupcakes to me, all because the flour had zero moisture at all. It was shockingly bad. Overall, really like the banana pudding - but you really shouldn't get anything else. 7/10

I hadn't had magnolia in years and wanted to stop in while visiting NYC. The location was small with no seating. Gotta get your goods to go, which is fine. Service was quick. The red velvet cupcake I ordered was such a disappointment. It was just so dry. Kind of hurt going down. I need to drink water afterwards to get that dry crumb feeling out of my throat. Not sure what happened here but this was not good.

Was never a crazy fan on banana pudding but had to try this out while we were craving dessert. My friends and I shared the Banana Pudding & Milk & Cookies Cheesecake. Super filling, sweet, and fluffy! On a hot day, a bite of this was great to cool us down. It was definitely pretty sweet, but we brought this home as a dessert for later and it still tasted great!

Magnolia Bakery is popular bakery known for its American baked goods, ranging from cookies, cakes, and more. I expected this location to be busier, but everything moved quickly. The space is rather small, so definitely a grab-and-go type of spot. I tried their Banana Pudding and I was not that impressed. It was lukewarm (the cashier grabbed it from the counter) which was disappointing as I feel like it should have been cold (there were a lot of them in the fridge too). I am not sure if they were just trying to get rid of their older Banana Puddings, but as a lover of this dessert, it was whatever. I have had better Banana Pudding at a gas station.

It was late on a Saturday night and after a bad restaurant experience I wanted a little sweet treat. We went to a few places closer to the hotel but they were closed, or not looking good, or not what we wanted and then we stumble upon Magnolia. I like it. There were plenty of options. Even with lines, they had plenty of people to grab the food items you wanted and 3 people to ring you up, so it moved pretty quickly but at 10 pm there was a line and it got bigger after we left. Plenty of things that looked great, and I could not make up my mind. The 2 things were got were good. I got a chocolate blondie brownie and it was good, but not fantastic. I should have gotten the cake that I had my eye on. But there was nothing wrong, I just wanted something a little bigger and better. Enjoy my photos.

Can't make a trip to NYC without getting some banana pudding at Magnolia Bakery. Luckily there was one at Rockefeller center and it just so happened to be on the way back to the hotel. This location is small and it felt a bit cramped but even though there was a long line it moved pretty quickly. Customer service was good, overall had a good experience here.

Magnolia Bakery's famous Banana Pudding was on our must-try list, so we stopped by to grab one while walking around the city. It absolutely lived up to the hype. The Banana Pudding was incredibly creamy, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. Every bite was delicious, and it's easy to understand why it's so famous. We would happily stop by for it every single day. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about the Red Velvet Cake. The frosting tasted overly sweet and a bit artificial, and overall it just wasn't as flavorful as we expected. It was definitely the weaker item of the two. Even so, the Banana Pudding alone is more than enough reason to visit Magnolia Bakery. It was outstanding and one of the best desserts we had in New York.

My friend told me about this place so we had to try it! My daughter had the red velvet cheesecake and my son had the original cheesecake. They're so cute and delicious. The kids really enjoyed it so much, we went twice during our vacation. The customer service was great! There were so many different flavors I wanted to try, but I'm on a diet. They had some Oreos dessert that looked amazing! I had to resist.

Walked by this shop while I was in NYC. Heard about the famous banana pudding and had to try it. The store is in a great spot for tourists. The store was small and cute. The line moved quickly as the person at the counter had banana pudding on deck. One they give you your item(s) you are move to the next line for check out. Then you are sent out the exit door. You felt kinda rush but I guess that is New York for you. I got a small which ran about $6. To be honest, I had better banana pudding and it was mostly whip cream in the filling. Having the pudding out for quick service made it a bit warm for my liking. It might have been better chilled. It was a good place to stop and try it.

Stopped by to pick up a slice of the Carrot Cake $8.25 from this popular dessert spot near Rockefeller Center in the Midtown area of NYC. The sliced cakes are prepackaged. I brought to the register and had it later that evening. It was delicious.

I was so excited to visit this iconic bakery! We of course got the banana pudding and a few extras. Everything was delicious. The banana pudding is packed with flavor and well worth it. My only draw backs were there was no where in sight to sit and enjoy the desserts. It was also crowded so it was hard to navigate and really pick things out. I might pre pick some of your treats and go in with some kind of plan.

Stopped by on the way to breakfast. Tried the banana pudding which I thought was delicious. The red velvet cake was super dry and hard. I could've used it in a snowball fight . The dough it muffins was really good and they allow you to sample. The Custer service is also good.

Stopped by while visiting nearby landmarks and had to try the famous banana pudding everyone talks about and It absolutely lived up to the hype. Super good and easily the highlight. There's also a huge selection of pastries and desserts to choose from, so plenty of options if you want to try more than one thing. The line/process can be a little confusing at first since people are walking in from all directions. Just a heads up: you grab your items at the counter and then wrap around to the checkout area. The staff felt a bit quick and "to the point" but that's pretty typical for the NYC pace, so no big deal. Overall, definitely a must stop spot if you're in the area and want to try their banana pudding.

It felt like items weren't made with care and mass produced at a factory or something. I went 10 minutes before they closed and there was still 10+ of each dessert. I'm not convinced that they will dispose of them. Even if they do, it means they didn't do a good job in forecasting demand especially after being in business for multiple years. I ordered mango and yuzu. Both were too sweet and had one dimensional flavor and textures, not refreshing per their stated flavors. Even if their appearances take effort, they don't look pretty enough for me to forgive what goes in my mouth. I'm used to having patisseries with many layers and elements. Mango's sponge probably only took up 20% of the bottom, because I barely had bites of it. Most of my bites didn't have any. I didn't like how liquid the filling was. It didn't exactly ooze out but just melted into a puddle in my mouth. Yuzu looks pretty with the pink and yellow glaze, but it didn't go with the realistic fruit theme. I chose it for the flavor combination which is strawberry, yuzu, and guava. This was slightly better in terms of flavor variety in the mouth. The flower on top had a weird off putting flavor. The bottom crispy rice apparently is supposed to be chocolate but it came out plain. It was tasteless anyway, so not effective in terms of flavor or texture.

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix.

I will say that's it's definitely not a good on-the-go sandwich, as it falls apart easily. However, I don't think this is a great spot for coffee. I was a bit underwhelmed by my latte, which tasted more like thin drip coffee than a rich, strong espresso. I also think they could offer more sweetener options.
