My only complaint I had was the cup they brought my water in was a little dirty and some of my silverware was a little dirty as well. Besides that, the food was great. I ordered the Texas Eggs Benedict because of some of the great reviews I've heard and they totally hold truth. I'm such a sucker for hollandaise sauce, but they used cheese as an alternative. We had our office holiday breakfast and everything went well. There was 9 of us and they seated us outside. Table was large, comfortable with even a fire pit providing a touch of warmth. The place is very welcoming and enjoyable during these holiday times. Beautiful old downtown location. Menu selection was large and everyone found something tasty to eat, even my vegetarian co-worker. What a pleasant breakfast. We were seated right away in the enclosed patio. It was right by the window so we could see the fire pits on the outside patio. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich on homemade bread. Oh my gosh! The bread was amazing and for only $.25 extra. I chose the egg salad which was perfect with the white soft bread. The soup of the day was corn chowder. You could taste it was homemade and not thick but silkenly delicious. Then came the surprise. Apple crisp right out of the oven topped with whipped cream. So that was 1/2 egg salad sandwich, a cup of corn chowder and a small portion of apple crisp for $7.99. I was totally satisfied. I'll be back to try their other soups. read more

We were excited to eat breakfast at this place because it is one of the only places that is dog friendly, that said from the decor to the food we ate and my dog ate leaves more to be desired. We were sat down immediately which was great that we did not have to wait. Server comes doesn't even say her name and takes our order. Food comes super fast and everything looks mediocre. The server also forgot multiple things and had to ask her multiple times for them including the eggs I got for our pup which came in a cardboard container. Waitress never checks on us, had to flag her down for everything. Our food was also cold. I'm a breakfast lover and so I like to eat at places where you can eat what you can't make at home, that said the food was bland no flavor, for what the price it's not worth it. I read somewhere here they are under new ownership? That could be why is so bad. This place is great! It's a mom and pop style place for sure. Reminded me a lot of the places I ate in Central Illinois while growing up. Big props for that! It's hard to find that atmosphere here in Southern California. The food was fantastic, the omelet was perfect! "Delightful" is the best way to describe Molly's Souper! I've only been here once so ill start with a 4/5 stars until I try some more. Location is not on a main street so it definitely has that that "hidden gem" feel. There is some nice outside seating available and they are dog friendly so that's a plus! What stood out to me the most was the pancakes! Not going to lie, these are the best I've ever had! I'm looking forward to trying more dishes at Molly's. We came to this place because our area doesn't have any brunch options other than BJs. We took a chance, drove out, and we're NOT disappointed. For starters, we got seated and accommodated right away and our food was out within 15 minutes! We ordered the cheese and bacon omelettes with potatoes and it was delicious. Next, our waiter was wonderful! Manuel really took care of us and had us laughing every time he came to check up on us. Lastly, we were able to meet Molly and she was the most endearing person! My husband and I came in today for some brunch. I ordered the Texas egg benedict it was ok. It was very Bland with no real kick to it. The harshbrowns where good. We had a nice girl wearing a grey hoodie with blonde hair ask Josie to sit us down inside. Josie seemed really annoyed and not too friendly. We had a different waitress take our food order and unfortunately didn't tell us her name, but she was very nice. Place is cute, it does need some dusting with all the clutter. read more

This place looks wonderful as you approach the location. It is a large converted wood frame home with plenty of outdoor shaded seating. Our hostess seated us outside, I took this to mean the inside was full. It was a bit warm, but we were in the shade. I immediately noticed this was a dog friendly place and could see there were quite a few dogs sitting or laying by their humans. Some looked like they were having a hard time of it in the heat. Then I noticed the flies, lots of them, enough to keep me waving them off pretty much the whole time. Then I detected a funky smell, like wet dogs with a little urine. I think it was an accumulated smell from lack of washing down the place. At this point I would have left, but my daughter-in-law picked the place. It was her birthday. It was crowded for some strange reason with hip and earthy type of people who I could tell loved their dogs to death. I mean, I have two myself, one even sleeps in the house and we do enjoy each other's company! I respect them and would never subject them to what I saw today. One gentleman, well into his middle age years, was seated alone with his panting dog laying next to his chair on uneven concrete pavers. I could plainly see he was uncomfortable, sweating, picking at his food while trying to read a book. He looked up at me with these sad eyes and I mouthed the words, "Leave, I can't". He looked away and insisted on trying to look cool and hip. Ok the food already. Denny's is better and so is the service. I had the Jeanie's breakfast sandwich special which was a grocery store stale hamburger bun with a fried egg, yesterdays bacon, one lettuce leaf, a thin slice oftomato, and unseasoned sliced fried potatoes. 9 bucks for that with flies and smells. Son had canned hash (Hormel kind) with eggs and wife a French toast combo that Denny's does better. Daughter-in-law, I don't remember, I was too happy for her. Never going back there. I don't understand all the high ratings for the food. Honestly, I am beginning to rethink most of the glowing reviews on restaurants and wonder if most people think putting siracha on a big Mac makes it gourmet with 5 stars. My rating is based on the food and service. We ordered sammys juevos rancheros. Probably the worst juevos ranchero if you can even call it that. It's exactly as the menu states, chili with beans covered in a red chili sauce. The beans were really bad. Canned beans from the grocery store heated would be better. Bottom line is do not order the juevos rancheros here. The service was great and the atmosphere is really nice. I would definitely go back and order anything but the juevos rancheros. I had Eggs Benedict here today! It was delicious, though maybe I should have gone with the half order because the full order was FILLING. I would have preferred one slice of thick ham as opposed to the numerous thin slices...still, the Eggs Benedict was enjoyable because I'd been craving some for a while. The dish came with seasoned breakfast potatoes, which were crispy and good; better with black pepper and green Tabasco (always a plus...yay!!). Word of advice: skip the mimosas; stick with OJ or water. I've been to Molly's Souper a few times and the food and atmosphere are always nice. Lacking a bit on the atmosphere this morning especially since it was a weekday morning, but that is to be expected. They seem to have a loyal following, though... I am a repeat customer, so the place is worth trying in case you have always been curious about "that house by the public library." The prices and menu variety are comparable to those chain restaurants, so why not support the local fare? read more

Came here on a Sunday morning. There wasn't a long wait. I ordered the kitchen sink omelette with the biscuits and gravy. Wait wasn't long for the food. Omelette was a bit bland as was the gravy. The biscuits were nice, warm and flaky. Probably some of the best biscuits I've had. Too bad the gravy didn't do it justice. The ambiance is amazing. A block north of the Pacific Electric bike trail. A little disappointed with the cleanliness of the plates, utensils and coffee mugs. Three coffee mugs were brought out to us and all three had lipstick on them. My wife and I have been here several times, but the quality control has sure gone down since our last visit. The servers excuse was they are washed by a machine. That machine is loaded and unloaded by a human. That person's responsibility is to make sure that everything coming out of the dishwasher is clean. I have recently just gotten into the food industry myself and have taking the ServSafe Manager class. These are major things that are discussed in this class and Molly' Souper needs to address. The service is good I love the atmosphere I felt like I was eating in the middle of a very quiet forest they have umbrellas covering for shade it's dog friendly I did agree on someone else's comment that they were a little bit more flies than I would have liked but that's really not the restaurants fault they did have a fan going to keep the circulation of the air to help with that, the food was good they were very busy they did the best to take our orders on time the prices were okay and I also agree with several other reviewers that we ordered and they got our order wrong on several times specifically with my order and that was kind of frustrating. Really good food, fast service. Went for brunch and didn't have to wait long to be seated, maybe 15 minutes. The servers were very nice, and even though I'm not a dog owner, I thought it was pretty cool that they had a dog menu for your K-9 friend! I got the french toast sandwich. It wasn't an actual sandwich, it was just the french toast with bacon and 1 egg. Although simple, I enjoyed it. Service was fast and the server would visit the table every few minutes to check on us. Overall my experience was good. Only thing I would complain about was at end when we were done with eating, we felt a little rush to get out.
