Came here for an 8 AM birthday breakfast with a friend, and thankfully there are PLENTY of parking spots in the plaza, so no need to stress about that! There are even some fun little designs and mirrors along the walls that make the place pretty picture-worthy. I also noticed they offer mimosa flights, but since it was 8 AM and a birthday breakfast, I decided to behave... this time. Haven Avocado Scramble -- $16.95 | 6.8/10 This was pretty mediocre for me. Egg whites, tomatoes, bell peppers, and country potatoes--nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing really stood out either. There were SO many things on the menu I wanted to order, but of course I was trying to keep things on the lighter side calorie-wise. And unfortunately... this was probably not the dish to get excited about. Big Country Skillet -- $17.95 | 6.5/10 My friend ordered this one, and as a self-proclaimed skillet girl, I had to sneak a bite! I usually love a good skillet loaded with eggs, cheese, hearty chunks of meat, and all the fixings. But this one was VERY potato-heavy. The meat was diced into such tiny pieces that you could barely see or taste it, and it felt pretty sparse throughout the skillet. I've definitely had better skillets at other brunch spots. ‍ Service -- 5/5 Now THIS was a highlight! Joe and Kiki were both super kind and welcoming, and the service definitely made the experience better. Overall, I'd give the food 3/5, but service gets 5/5! Cookie cutter breakfast menu, not that it is a problem. But the breakfast we had was not up to standards enough to make us return. What tempted me was the Eggs Benedict. It was beautiful to look at, but not as good as hoped. First of all, my dish was not hot. I wished the English muffin had been toasted sufficiently to crisp up those craggy parts. If it was toasted at all, I could not tell. The hollandaise sauce was rather bland, not bad, but missing a bright, lemony flavor. And probably a bigger expectation, the poached eggs were barely runny. What were good were the nice pieces of good tasting bacon and fresh spinach leaves. That saved me from being wholly disappointed. I chose their house potatoes to go with the Benedict, but these came out barely warm, and worse yet, old tasting. I ended up requesting they be replaced with hash browns, and those were great, a big improvement. Our other breakfast choice was a Blueberry Belgian waffle. It was unremarkable tasting and lacked crispness. Again, it was not particularly warm, the butter on top did not melt. I've had better. The server was very good considering they were pretty full that day. However, the food took much longer than it should have to arrive, which may have explained why nothing came out hot except for the crispy hash browns that replaced the disappointing house potatoes. One final note. How hard is it for a restaurant as long-staying as this one is, to serve a decent glass of water? It was undrinkable. I shudder to think what their coffee must taste like. read more

The wait time was minimal for a Sunday before noon. Out waitstaff Joe was amazing, he helped with items to order and suggestions on drinks. Now the food and drinks were perfect, hats off to the chefs. The belgium Waffle was perfect, and the toppings ( banana and candied pecans) put it over the top. My husband had the country fried steak with gravy and biscuits and I had the classic breakfast, did I mention that the country fried potatoes were wonderful. A friend told me about this place. So as I was looking for a brunch spot we decided to come here. Its an ok size place, I love the decor and the music and atmosphere here. They dont try to pack a lot of seating into here like other places (Madre, im looking at you). So it feels spacious and nice. Our waitress was super nice. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Checked on us frequently. And was just bubbly and friendly without being forced or exhausting. They have quite an extensive menu. Breakfast and lunch all day. They even have several types of coffee flights and coffee drinks. I ordered their birria tacos, bone in chicken wings and signature coffee flight. Food comes out quickly. But the quality and taste was just OK. The birria in the taco was all clumped together. It was quite odd, and a little off-putting. Having to bite thru that hunk of shredded meat. It was on the oiler side of things. The consume felt too thin. They served it on a wooden cutting board type plate. Which is nice and all, until the juices starts dripping off the side of the board because its all flat.... the chicken wings were really tiny. Like as though from a baby chicken. Flavors were good. Nice and sticky sauce to it. The flight of ice coffee was not good. It felt watered down and diluted without being cold. After the ice melted it was even more watered down. It was just sweet on sweet. Presentation looked beautiful but that was about it. I rather have cold black coffee from home then drink those again. What really saved this review was the fact that we were able to sit and talk for some time. And our waitress was super nice and attentive. I think I'll order something else when I come back. I really, really, really our service at Haven Haus Café was absolutely amazing. Our waiter Joe was very attentive and brought such a positive attitude. We got the signature coffee flight and the salted caramel and dolce de Leche were phenomenal. The breakfast tacos were divine and the pickled onions were such a great touch.The Birria Benedict was delicious and when we got our eggs they were slightly overcooked and when it was brought to Joe's attention, he immediately took care of it and had it back out on our table within minutes. Came here Sunday afternoon, and first thing I gotta say is this place is one of the coolest looking restaurants around. The ambiance is impressive with how much thought went into it, and it's hard not to appreciate how well it all comes together. Also ordered Spanish latte and French toast. My girlfriend had 2 eggs and hash. The food didn't take long at all. Overall, the food was "ok." Didn't taste bad, didn't taste delicious. I couldn't really taste the chorizo or feta cheese and it was on the dry side in texture. The potatoes were probably the best thing. The French toast was underwhelming. There just wasn't anything that had any flavor in any meaningful way. The only thing that had flavor was the Spanish latte, and that was too sweet, so I don't think the food was worth the price. That said, if this is addressed then I recommend this place to anyone around, I'd say it's worth a visit just for the very pleasant visual appeal. So overall, the food was mediocre at best. For larger groups, I'd recommend making a reservation just to be safe. The ambiance is very cute with charming decorations, which made it a great spot for a festive get-together. I ordered the breakfast tacos, which felt more like mini burritos and came with good portion sizes. Despite how busy it was, the staff was very friendly and attentive, which we really appreciated. The only downside was the parking. Many of the spots directly in front of the restaurant are limited to 30 minutes or an hour, likely due to the nearby gym. There are untimed parking spots a bit farther away in the plaza, which wasn't an issue for me, but it could be inconvenient for anyone with mobility challenges. Haven Haus is a go to for us. The interior is decorated so boho cute (Bob Ross painting on the TV for ambiance value) and the prices are very affordable for brunch nowadays! Not overly sweet, a fall feel to it and an edible leaf to bless my instagram! The only feedback I would have was that it wasn't super hot. It was just warm and I'm a sucker for a HOT coffee. We also ordered a Classy Benny with regular bacon and avocado toast with an egg. Both were great, but both eggs could have been cooked for maybe 20 seconds longer as the whites were a teeny bit runny, but not to the point of being grossed out (IYKYK) haha. Both were tasty, good portions, seasoned, flavorful, etc. our only feedback on the food is the same as the coffee. They were just a tad luke warm. The waitlist here gets pretty wild on a weekend (so does the parking), so be sure to utilize their online waitlist! Very helpful!
