    Burger and onion rings
    Stacy S.

They have quite the menu for a burger place. That said, we got burgers Garden burger and tots for me, onion rings and some meaty burger for him. We enjoyed both. The burgers have house sauce on them, which they also have to us for our tots and rings. It was good, but I think I prefer regular ketchup and mustard. Service was great - we were there at lunch time and they were busy, but the wait to order or get our food wasn't long.

Molokai burger is interesting. Inside, it kind of looks like In-N-Out. The color scheme is similar. What you will find inside is a place that makes a nice smash burger for a ok price. I thought the burger is ok, nothing amazing, but a decent burger and fries. The Molokai burger is $8.65, fries for $4. So not cheap. What I did like was their cool t-shirts! I picked one up for my wife. If you go there, check out the t-shirt that they sell. It says Molokai 0 Marker. Another thing I liked was that they seem to stay open late (for Molokai) so it's an option when other places are closed. Good parking, also has a drive thru (the only one?????). The have a lot of items on the menu for you to try.

3/2024 Molokai burger Update: Korean Chicken Plate Behold the single most popular order in Kaunakakai, a mound of crusted golden fried chicken breast and thigh slivers and a thin sweet-sesame soy dipping sauce on shaved cabbage. Served with choices of steamed white rice, Mac salad or garden salad. The tasty thin sliced chicken was very crispy, sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onion, fried almost to the point of being dry. Kind of like popcorn fried chicken. Dipped into the thin sauce it was an interesting rendition of the usually meaty fried chicken parts, tossed and coated with a thicker sweet sesame soy glaze. After speaking to local restaurant consultants, I now fully understand that it's mostly fried chicken skin that I'm enjoying. So, a few years of life have been willingly taken away from me because it's fricking addictive, like Crack I guess. The sides of salad and Mac salad were edible. The salad had an assortment of chopped romaine, tomato pieces, and onion shards sitting in a puddle of rinse water. Adding the clumpy sesame dressing only diluted it further. The Macaroni salad was bathed in mayo and needed a cook with a seeing eye dog to season it with salt before completing the task, hence the "Now Hiring" banner out front. Overall it was a great textural meal since I dream of fried chicken, rarely making or ordering it since I'm now older than I look.

    Molokai Burger in Kaunakakai......

Da Buggah was ono!!! There's not a lot of places to eat on Molokai (as compared to if you lived on Oahu), but the very few eateries that they do have on the little island of Molokai, I must say it's quite good! One eatery I wanna give props to is called - Molokai Burger! Located in Kaunakakai town, just off of the main road, you can find this great eatery in a green colored house looking structure. As I entered the establishment & looked around, I must say that this eatery kinda reminded me of a Teddy's Bigger Burger that we have on Oahu, & Maui. Why do I say that? Well, for one thing the food here is made fresh when you order it, it's not like those fast food chains where some of their food is pre-made & sitting under a heat lamp. Upon looking over the menu, besides burgers, Molokai Burger also sells - sandwiches, salads, plate lunches, & desserts. If you come here early in the morning, Molokai Burger also serves breakfast here. Unfortunately I can't tell you if the hamburgers are good here, because I stopped eating red meat over 7 years ago, but what I can tell you is that they certainly make a mean Teri Chicken Sandwich! Yummo!! And when your're eating a delicious sandwich like this, ya gotta get some kinda fries so I ended up getting the Waffle Fries (because you hardly see this on fast food menus). What can I say about the grub? Simply deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious! The teriyaki sauce that they used on the chicken filet was what made this sandwich so mouthwatering good! As for the waffle fries, I only got this after seeing someone on Yelp post a pick of the waffle fries that was big as someone's hand! Lol! Service here was on point, and should I crave another chicken sandwich, I'm a definitely gonna come back to Molokai Burger!

Simple, but good. Breakfast was good, served on paper plates. The highlight is the burger at lunch! It's a must get! Smash-burgers, grilled onions!!! It's messy, so get napkins.

Solid food, with a fast food dining ambiance as expected. Service was quick and priced reasonably. Loco moco was massive and delicious, the other breakfast plates were a bit smaller but still tasty. Overall a great spot to fuel up quickly on Molokai!

Paniolo burger and spicy fries: the burger was nice enough, if very well done. The onion ring was good, and the bbq sauce was nice. The spicy fries were great--fresh, piping hot and a good amount, not a ton of them but enough. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes, but cooked fresh, and they were making several at the same time. They have maybe 4-5 milkshake flavors. The drink options could be a little more varied than just milkshakes and Coke drinks--some local and non-corn syrup options would be nice, some unsweetened tea or lemonade or something. There's tons of parking. There's also a good amount of seating. It's clean and bright inside, sort of feeling like an In'n'Out, especially given the color scheme. There are a couple of tables outside. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The McDonald's of Molokai. The burger wasn't anything too special, but it's a good place to go to get your fast food fix. Ice cream was light and refreshing. Staff were nice and worked quick; ample seating indoors and outdoors or you can go through the drive through.

And that's exactly what happened after going to Mrs. K's Concession in Kaunakakai town. Mrs. K's Concession is a little take out eatery, and it is located smack between the two banks in Kaunakakai - (American Savings Bank & Bank of Hawaii). Ya can't miss it gang! Mr. K's Concession features local style grindz like - plate lunches, burgers & sandwiches, saimin, musubi's, snacks, & desserts. They also do breakfast here. I passed by this little eatery many times over the years whenever I worked on Molokai, but I guess the main reason why I never bothered to check out Mrs. K's Concession is because the lack of signage on the outside of the business. Food here is made fresh when you order it, so expect a little wait. The day I came here, I went with a Chicken Cutlet plate which consisted of two scoops rice, mac salad, & some deep fried chicken with brown gravy all ovah! Happy I ordered that plate, cuz dat plate was Maaaaaaaaaaasive!!! The chicken was deep fried to perfection, and the gravy ovah really hit da spot! After eating dat plate, bruddah man wanted to moi moi under a tree! Lol! Looking for local style comfort food? Give Mrs. K's Concession a try!

The burger was very delicious, and they even cut it in half for us to share. The beef was flavorful, juicy, and cooked well. My only minor critique is that the bun felt a bit large and thick compared to the amount of patty, but it was still a really good burger overall. The onion rings were also excellent, crispy, golden, and delicious. The biggest downside was the price. For a burger and an order of onion rings + tax + credit card surcharge, our total came to $29, which felt pretty steep. The food was good, but the cost may give me pause before ordering again.
