Blue Ginger Café is located right in the busy center of Lāna'i and is a popular local spot. It gets pretty busy in the mornings, and they offer a wide variety of dishes--just the omelets alone come in several options. I ordered their classic Lāna'i Omelet, which came with toast and a hash brown. The portion was generous and packed with fillings. We also tried a burger with fries, and the fries were perfectly crispy and golden. Drinks like coffee and juice were also solid, and prices here are very reasonable. We sat outside, where little birds were hopping around, adding to the laid-back island vibe. It's a charming café with a cozy atmosphere, and since dining options on Lāna'i are limited, this place is definitely worth a try.

Lunch! Monday April 14, 2025

Monday April 14, 2025 Last time, here was back in 2017!! It's nice to visit here again. We came here at 12:00pm lunch time. Plus, I needed to buy new shirts from here. We ordered the Chicken Cutlet and in a short while the food came out to our table. The service was fast and friendly. Plus, the owner came to check on us, nice choice of new shirt and talk story a little while. The ambiance is casual, comfortable inside and outside as well. We will be back again for breakfast, lunch and dinner while we are here. Or cook at my friends house the other times. Always support local no matter what island that you happen to visit.

Our cab driver recommended Blue Ginger for lunch while spending the day in Lanai City. Food was quintessential Hawaiian umami. We had mahi burgers and our vegetarian had a veggie stir fry. The place was quiet and clean. Guy taking orders was helpful. Tables inside and out to choose from. Recommend this place if on Lanai.

Yum! We found blue ginger cafe through Yelp and it did not disappoint! $15 for the big breakfast included fried rice, eggs, bacon, toast and two pancakes. The big breakfast was enough for two people in my option or one very hungry person! Everything was cooked to order and delicious. I especially liked the fried rice offered for breakfast (or you can get white rice or hashbrowns). Plenty of seating inside. Street parking b is available. Derive was friendly and our food came out quickly. A definite breakfast stop if you are in the area.

Blue Ginger came recommended by my cousin when searching for places to eat while on Lāna'i. Unfortunately, they close early in the afternoon so we never had an opportunity to swing by as we usually finish our round at around 1. As it was super windy on Friday, my Dad and I decided to skip golf and head into town to see what it was like during the day. We were warmly greeted by the staff and owner. The shuttle driver mentioned they baked their own bread so we already knew we'd be ordering a sandwich. Asked for a recommendation and the dry saimin was suggested. While I was a bit skeptical (as we had the dry saimin at Sato last trip) I decided to just go with it. The pastrami sandwich was good and the bread even better. Only complaint was with the fact that the fries weren't seasoned before serving. The dry saimin was fantastic! Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of fish cake and spam!! I do wish they extended their hours of operation so that we could head here for either lunch after a round of golf or for dinner. Their burgers looked fantastic as well and would order that the next trip out.

Over easy, white rice, bacon and the amazing fresh baked bread!

What an amazing breakfast spot and super friendly staff. Such a cool hometown spot, makes me want to move from Oahu and stay here forever!!

A favorite place to stop by ever since I first went in 2018, I recently got their signature Lāna'i Omelette, and it blew me away with how savory and delicious it was. I also tried their pastries and coffee which were just as good. The blue ginger at the cafe makes for great ambiance, and the workers are all friendly and kind. - Miguel Morales Photography

Small local place that's apparently been in operation for many years. Only open for lunch right now. Handful of tables inside and a handful of tables outside. Not a lot of options on the island. Order at a counter, staff was very efficient. Food was fine. Not spectacular. Fries were underdone and under seasoned. But bacon and egg sandwich was tasty. Katsu chicken was covered in a sweet and sour sauce that was a bit cloying. Egg salad very over salted. Mac salad was decent.

Interesting little house with a big tree hanging fruits at the front. The food was ok, reasonably priced. They also have bakery treats.

You might get some attention from the cute birds when you eat outside

We had the breakfast and it was a great choice. Good prices and a lot of food. The service was especially friendly and helpful. I had the bento breakfast and wasn't hungry the rest of the day!

12/3/2022: Blue Ginger Cafe--I ordered corned beef with rice, egg, and toast~YUMMY! Also, I purchased a blueberry and apple turnover which were awesomely delectable as well as their coffee was deeply robust. If, I ever return to Lanai, I'll make a point returning to Blue Cafe!

Regular breakfast w/corn beef hash & rice

Strolled into town in search of a hearty breakfast after an early morning hike. Stepped inside Blue Ginger to place an order and when I saw Corn Beef Hash on the menu, sold. We found a table outside to wait for our order and staff delivered to our table. This plate was filling; they don't skimp. Corn beef hash, 2 eggs, scoop of rice & toast. I couldn't finish it, but mission accomplished finding a hearty breakfast.

I don't know what they put in their musubi, but that thing was DELICIOUS! The rice is seasoned along with the spam and both together are a homerun. My only regret was only getting one :( All in all, this is a good place to stop and stock up on snacks, drinks, and other items.

Unlike standard donuts, theirs are fried to a perfect golden crisp on the outside while staying unbelievably fluffy, light, and pillowy on the inside. Freshness First: Because they open bright and early at 6:00 AM, getting them warm means you are catching them at peak texture--crisp, airy, and meltingly soft. Mouth-Watering Savories & Pies It's rare for a bakery to completely master both ends of the spectrum, but they strike an incredible balance between decadent sweetness and rich, savory comfort: The Quiche: Getting a morning slice with a perfectly flaky, buttery crust and a rich, velvety egg custard is the ultimate savory breakfast comfort. The Key Lime Pie: A masterclass in balance. The sharp, refreshing pucker of the lime curd pairs flawlessly with a thick, buttery graham cracker crust, making it the ultimate mid-day or post-beach treat. The Croissants: True to artisan form--shattered layers on the outside, a rich, tender, airy web of butter on the inside. The Ultimate Beachside Vibe What truly seals the memory is the pure sense of place. It's a quintessential "cute little bakery"--unassuming, warm, and hyper-focused on quality.
