Could not be more happy with these guys. Mike was quick to respond to my initial call, showed up on time to look at the project (a four story interior stairwell and entryway), and provided a quote within a couple days. He took his time on site - taking pictures and measurements - and came back with a very detailed quote. We had several companies give us quotes, and Mike was about in the middle, cost-wise. But, we had the most confidence in Mike based upon his initial performance, and we are so glad we went with him. The crew arrived at the agreed upon time, did very thorough, clean, detailed work. Mike and his team did a great job on our condo (prepped and painted all walls, trim, and baseboards; also did a few "handyman" fixes). Mike was able to squeeze us into their schedule and did exactly what they said they'd do on the timeline they promised, so I didn't mind that they were slightly more expensive than some of the other estimates I received. Highly recommend - They were a bit more expensive but did terrific work painting my condo. Very professional starting from an In home estimate. Explained the suggested steps; wrote a detailed estimate; arrived 6:58 am for 7 am start; tarped everything and left my condo spotless with towels in the bathroom placed back perfectly as when he started. Mike did a big grasscloth wallpaper job in my West Loop condo. His work was immaculate -- and I'm OCD, so if there were anything wrong, however minor, I would have found it. The job was big -- an accent wall about 11 feet tall and 20 feet wide -- and he had to work around holes for in-wall-speakers. He was so good, I recently hired him again to wallpaper two more walls in another room. This time he had to wrap paper around a soffit, and again, the work was perfect. Based on his attention to detail alone I'm hiring him to do some painting as well. He's also always on time, communicates well, and is super polite. read more

We hired Mike and his team to paint all the common areas in our high rise condo building in downtown Chicago (River North) - and could not have been happier with the work and service as well as competence and competitive pricing!! We have a 150+ unit building and needed all the common hallways painted on each floor as well as trim work around each door frame. I could not be happier with the job Mike and his crew at Molson Decorating did on a job that had its challenges. I wanted a high gloss oil based paint used for a part of the job and the coverage looks stunning! The team were so easy to have around. They were all very thoughtful of all of my furniture and belongings, making sure they were properly covered or moved out of the way. My family used molson decorating twice. Previously, Micheal and his team painted our living room/kitchen and common areas, and recently, we hired michael to paint our sons bedroom. On both occasions, they were punctual, clean, and did great work. Michael consulted with us on paint colors, and helped us make great choices. I will also add that Michael and his team were very courteous and careful when it came to maintaining social distance in our home. Mike was excellent! He wallpapered my dining room and it looks beautiful. Mike was professional from the moment he came over to give me a quote to the moment he cleaned up. Mike arrived when he said he'd arrive and was diligent and careful with hanging my wallpaper. Hanging wallpaper is tedious and time consuming but Mike made it look easy. I have used Molson Decorating several times for multiple projects and they always impresses. For the major project I cost shopped and found Molson to be best or fair priced. But beyond that Mike and his team are always on point. He communicates well, is super flexible, makes changes on the go if need be, and always does the job to perfection. We have used him for ceiling, wall and trim of our 1850 apt, with high ceilings, plus he grinder and repainted our two exterior porches, and has done touch up work again before we sold our place. Mike and his team did several projects at our home. He painted all of the ceilings and all of the trim in our 2400sq ft home. We had him paint all of our kitchen cabinets to update the look of our kitchen. He even fabricated and painted some built in shelving. They were excellent with caulking, sanding, and drywall patches. Mike and his team showed up everyday on time. Mike cares a great deal bout his work and did anything it required to make us happy. You can tell he takes great pride in what he does. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed. They are efficient, completely professional, and fairly priced. I have never had a better experience hiring someone to work in my home. We have recently moved from Chicago and have hired a couple of other painters since. I hired Molson Decorating to paint my apartment in West Town based on a referral. Mike, the owner, was courteous and professional when giving the estimate and explained the entire job in a manner that was easy to understand. He took the exact time he said he would need to do the job (which is great when dealing with any person in a service job) and the work was perfect. Many people think painting only involves your walls but it requires absolute precision with regard to the trim, crown molding, outlets, ceilings, and all the crevices in a place. Even when the shade of the paint is slightly off or when paint from one corner bleeds into another, you will notice and I did not see any of that with Mike's work. Most importantly, there were no other fees at the end of the process and we did not need Mike to come back to fix anything.
