More like 3.5. Medium sized Taiwanese restaurant in Good Fortune Supermarket strip mall. Large menu with a great photo wall of popular dishes. Food is served up pretty fast and looks good, but some of the dishes tasted just okay. In terms of price point, a little high for the dish.

Now that Newleaf Bistro in Monterey Park is permanently closed and the manager, Monica, has moved to this restaurant, I'm here to support her with friends. It's still as delicious as ever! If you want a taste of authentic Taiwanese cuisine, I highly recommend these four dishes: Shredded Pork w/ Taiwan Makino Bamboo Shoot Satay Water Spinach w/ Beef Steamed Egg w/ Seafood & Spinach Stinky Tofu, Pork Blood Cake & Century Egg w/ Three Cups Sauce The Cod Fish w/ Mikiko Beans is so good that even the cilantro and scallion strips taste amazing. This is my first time trying pickled cordia seeds (破布子) used for seasoning; they have a very unique texture that you shouldn't miss. For something special, the Fried Sweet Taro Strips are delicious and a must-try. They work perfectly as either an appetizer or a dessert! Note: While the dishes taste good overall, my friend mentions a slight aftertaste of "old oil," and we both feel quite thirsty after heading home--perhaps there's a bit too much MSG.

I hear you! It's almost lunar new year and if you are like me, looking for authentic Taiwanese banquet courses, you are at the right place coming to Momo Bistro! The Chef Yang is exceptional for reserving the authenticity of many traditional Taiwanese cuisines, which typically take a lot of effort and time to prepare. The price is relatively inexpensive when compared to how difficult each dish requires. We were in the "not so private" private rooms where you can even sing karaoke if you like. However, I do hope that they could upgrade the room facility to provide more space and privacy. Otherwise, overall the quality of food and service is worth the price.

My family has been coming here for years. This is one of the more authentic Taiwanese restaurants in all of San Gabriel valley. I love their Taiwanese rice noodles, fried oysters, napa cabbage stew, steamed cod, stir fry veggies, stir fry firm tofu with pork, chicken roll and fried taro for dessert. Their fried rice and fried noodles are really good too! The ambiance is casual. They do have one private room for parties. Service was fine. Free parking lot outside.

I've ordered here several times during lunch and thought the food tasted good. However, I recently noticed I was charged $24 for a small takeout order of shredded pork with dried bean curd, even though the lunch menu lists it at $13. When I called to ask, the staff said there was no lunch pricing that day (it was a Tuesday) and couldn't clearly explain when lunch prices apply. I later saw on Yelp that their posted lunch menu says Monday-Friday, 11:00am-2:30pm. I realized I was consistently charged dinner prices even during lunch hours. Very disappointing and confusing. This is a very simple home-style stir-fry dish, and the portion was quite small. I honestly don't understand how they can justify charging a price comparable to what other restaurants charge for roast duck or free-range chicken.

    1) Honey Walnut Shrimp (核桃蝦) Battered shrimp tossed in a sweet, creamy mayonnaise-based sauce. The combination of crunchy walnuts and springy shrimp offered a signature sweet and savory flavor that we couldn't stop eating. 2) Shredded Pork with Taiwan Makin Bamboo Shoot (桂竹筍肉絲) Taiwanese 'Makin' (Makino) bamboo shoots are known for their slender shape and tender, crunchy texture. They had a natural sweetness and the 'forest' aroma of fresh bamboo. 3) Taiwan Fried Rice Noodles (台式炒米粉) Classic and simple. Nothing special.

Highly recommended. If you like Taiwanese cuisine, this would be the one for you. Every dish here is super tasty and we are so surprised that people are not lining up to eat here. Their smoked duck was excellent and goes great with beer. Their garlic fried water spinach was super tasty that I ate half of it by myself. But what I like the most is the service there, so friendly and attentive ... Just like old friends. They also sell frozen dumplings here if you are looking for some good dumpling! Don't forget to order their cold squid appetizer, unforgettable texture. Thanks and we will be back for sure. Can't wait.

I love this place. Every time when I am in LA. I would go to this place for the most authentic Taiwanese food in LA. They have everything! The service is excellent. The food is so yummy. Please check out my photos :-)

This spot is by far my favorite family-style Taiwanese restaurant in SGV/LA and has been approved by several of my Taiwanese friends as being authentic and delicious. Their three flavor sauteed chicken and basil was my favorite dish, delivered an amazing tasty complex sauce and flavor-packed basil that went well with rice, and contained delicious tender chicken (be careful with the chicken bones in this dish though!). My 2nd favorite dish was the stir fried TW lettuce as I was impressed how much flavor they were able to introduce into this vegetable. The sauteed bean curd with pork dish had excellent flavor as well. Excellent and attentive service for our table of 6 on a busy Sunday lunch. Lots of people here on a Sunday lunch which also indicates their delicious food. I can't remember the last time I had better Taiwanese food than this place!

    They illegally block parking spaces
    Ceejay D.

This establishment is a poor representation of Taiwanese food and criminally overpriced. Oh, and they also do petty ish things like block spaces for their "delivery truck". *Update: I seen them now block multiple spaces. I don't know why they have to do that since that place never gets busy.*

I ordered lunch from Momo Bistro & Bakery via UberEats and was extremely disappointed--and frankly, concerned--by the quality of the food. Two dishes in particular were absolutely unacceptable: The sautéed bean curd with pork strips tasted sour, as if it had spoiled. The celery with squid was even worse. The squid was foul-smelling, mushy, and clearly not fresh. I took a bite and had to immediately spit it out. I've attached photos showing the uneaten squid to make it clear I'm not exaggerating and immediately dumped into the trash can! This was part of a lunch special, but does that mean quality and food safety don't matter? It's deeply disappointing to receive food that feels unfit for consumption. I won't be ordering again and cannot recommend this place.
