I only come for the soup dumplings, best around! This is also a very beautiful and modern dining space that's perfect for a date night or just a special treat. Reservations are recommended but I have gotten in on an off-hour with no issues. I've been here a few times with my husband and we've tried several menu items. Spring rolls, Korean Mandu, spicy noodles... it's all amazing and full of flavor. So, while I show up for the soup dumplings, I stay for the absolute carnival of flavor that their menu provides. My family and I made the mistake of underestimating this and ended up waiting around 1.5 hours to get seated. Overall the food was alright! The spring rolls were a solid appetizer and were pretty crispy. I was a little underwhelmed by the chicken dumplings as they were very one-note and didn't have too much flavor going on in the inside (maybe the veggie dumplings are better not sure). My favorite dish of the night was the Korean spicy noodles! Beware they are pretty spicy but nothing intolerable - I would definitely get these again. Tried momo mee for lunch for the first time on a Sunday. I highly suggest even for lunch to make a reservation because this place was busy! We were able to sit at a table that were relatively close together so essentially no privacy for conversation. Ordered the Xiao Long Bao dumplings (along with every other tables in the vicinity of us) which were really good. Seems to be the staple here. We also tried the Korean beef Taiwanese Gua Bao and the Singapore spicy noodles with chicken. Bother we're good. I would have liked more of a flavor or bean sprouts or something else in the noodles. I came in today on a Monday (Christmas observed) for lunch, not long after they opened and it was packed. I really thought I could just walk in, but I had made a reservation so we got sat immediately. The hostess was telling people that the wait was an hour! I'm unsure what the busy times are. We were there, no joke, for 2 hours. So plan accordingly. When it's busy, the food naturally comes out slower. And the waitress kindly let us know it might take a minute. We left the restaurant around 3pm, and it seemed to have slowed down. A lot of people didn't want to wait, so it seemed. When we left, the tables were all still filled. The service was absolutely phenomenal!! For as busy as it was, our waitress was sure to come to check in. Our waters were refilled without prompt. Our waitress kindly explained the menu and gave us ideas. The food: if you're a vegetarian, don't fret, the waitress said that 95% of their menu can come vegetarian. I'm not sure about vegan. But the friend I went with is a vegetarian and she had no problems finding delicious options. I ordered the famous soup dumplings, spring rolls, Korean and pork belly buns. All the food was absolutely delicious. I wasn't obsessed with the soup dumplings, as people seemed to really love this, but they were very good! The buns were soooo good!! The food was alright. The menu seems so overwhelming if its your first time there. Our waiter & staff was not welcoming at all. I mentioned to the waiter it was our first time & she seemed annoyed that we werent sure what to get or had questions about the food. Its definitely not kid friendly. I was confused & thought we had ordered ramen but it was a noodle plate so i asked if we could switch it although they did let us switch the plate, they did it in a bad mood & were mad about it but i will give them the 2 stars for allowing me to switch to ramen. The ramen had a weird taste compared to the pther ramen ive tasted. I most definitely wont be back & dont recommend. I honestly was not expecting much from this restaurant seeing how the city is not really diverse. I'm glad to announce that I was terribly wrong! We came at prime dinner time without a reservation on a Saturday. We were lucky enough to get seated because it was just 2 of us, but it was the last table, so please try to plan ahead if you can and reserve! We ordered szechuan spicy wontons and the xiao long baos (xlb) to start. Szechuan spicy wontons had a slight kick and numb to it, meat was seasoned well, but a little too oily. The xiao long baos were really good. What I look for in a good XLBs is the skin first and foremost and seasoning second. This place had it both! The skin was thick enough to house our delicious soup and meat filling but also thin enough that you don't feel like you're chewing forever to get to the actual meat and soup! I really enjoyed this a lot, and to be honest, this place had better XLBs than the famous Joe's Shanghai in NYC (which I personally think is way overhyped)! In addition to dumplings, we also tried the seafood and tofu clay pot and crispy orange beef. Both were incredible and so so good. Crispy beef slices with a tangy sauce, who could ask for more? Food flavors were okay. Somewhat Americanized foods. Overly salted and sweetened. Portions were small. Prices were expensive. Go to an authentic dim sum in Chinatown and prices are at least half with bigger portions and better flavors. We gave it a try. Service was great however. No complaints there. Friendly, nice, efficient. Venue clean and spacious for different sizes. There are booths. There looked to be a bar too at the front. We will unlikely be back again in Fourier. A nice surprise to find a great place for dumplings in Milwaukee. The Xiao long bao are very juicy, so eat with care, and so yummy! The wontons were also excellent. The shao (siu) mai were the sleeper hit of our lunch: nice balance of shrimp and pork and a great texture. I would have liked more kimchi in the kimchi beef mandu, but it was still good. My nephew was in town for a couple of days and wanted to meet for dinner. Rather than taking him to a chain restaurant, we wanted to find something unique to Milwaukee. Mono Mee is just that restaurant. Apparently it was a coffee shop prior. Its total foot print is rather small so make sure you have reservations. It's a very popular restaurant and by the time we finished dinner, there were several people waiting in the small lobby for a table. The food was outstanding! My husband, nephew, and I ordered different dishes. In addition, we ordered the pan fried chicken potstickers. The food came out hot, spicy, and was difficult to not eat the entire plate of food. The service was prompt and timeline from sitting until we left was reasonable. We definitely plan to return with friends. read more

I've been craving some Chinese food in Milwaukee and there's only a small handful of Chinese restaurants in this state. I was especially curious about Momo Mee because my friends who had gone stated that they have soup dumplings. Soup dumplings (xiao long bao) are these handmade dumplings that are made with soup so when you bite into it, there is some broth in the dumplings. They are savory and difficult to make. One of my favorite places is Din Tai Fung; they are known for soup dumplings (world class soup dumplings). I will say that the Momo Mee ones were delicious but different than the ones at Din Tai Fung. Like other reviewers, the wrapper is thicker, the dumplings larger but for Milwaukee, I'm so grateful to have found these. I was told that the soup dumplings are house made which I appreciate and the vinegar it comes with is tasty. I really want to just commend the service at Momo Mee. The staff are so friendly, they get you everything you need and the food was brought out fast and pipping hot. I did come in the afternoon (when it was less busy) but everyone was very friendly. The owner, Chef Tony, was also there and I love seeing that interaction. He was also really welcoming and I loved the ambiance at this place. They have a limited edition Chinese menu out for Lunar New Years (I think only for the next week or so). Will definitely be returning to try more items! read more

We were 4 people on a Thursday night. The drinks were fine but not all the food was. My husband's order of pineapple chicken gulaorou was not made with chicken. He said whatever meat they used was very rubbery. The potstickers were so so along with the vegetable dumplings. Our other friend ordered some noodle dish with shrimp. Everything was fresh and clean and our server Michael was very helpful as he instructed us on the way to properly eat soup dumplings. The pan fried Gyoza had a nice crisp to it and great flavor. I loved the Momo Mee Famous Xiao Long Bao which is available in a limited quantity each day. You need to be careful as the hot broth can burst from the dumpling and burn your mouth if you don't poke a hole in it and let it cool a bit. For my entree I had the Twaiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl which had lots of great flavors combined into one dish. The soft egg adds some extra moisture and the braised pork pieces were very tender. Momo Mee is always crowded. That provides answers in itself, and the masses of patrons are not there because of social media. They crowd Momo Mee because it is the best Chinese restaurant in Milwaukee. We live nearby, but people drive, to what is now called the Harbor District, from all over. The food is delicious and rivals what we ate during our years living in the Pacific North West. Dumplings are sublime. Crispy noodle dishes burst with flavor. Crispy beef is my favorite on Momo Mee's extensive menu, but everything is good. The space is new, large and comfortable. Our server, Alexandria, was enthusiastic and helpful. A pan-asian restaurant. was excited to see on the menu that they have xiao long bao. They turned out to be ok but that is my comparison on this is Din Tai Fung. The soup inside is kinda salty. I love the szechuan spicy fried chicken wings and Pork belly Bao Bun. pork belly is tasty and tender and the bun is soft and fluffy. But i would prefer them to be smaller and 3 in a container. The chicken wings are crispy and tasty. The spicy wonton is ok. The picture is more appetizing. The sauce is bland. It lacks soy saice, citrus and spiciness. The siomai is good too. Cant complain about it. Service is superb. The place is new and very casual dining. There are plenty of parking. Looking at the menu they have variety of food including ramen. I usually have low expectations if a place is described as pan Asian or Asian fusion as in my past dining experiences this leads to sort of bland, Americanized food when I wanted something specific. But I was in the neighborhood and the Yelp reviews were good so we stopped for lunch. Delicious, good spice, comes with 2 buns. Xiao Long Bao - 8 soup dumplings. Delicious and reminded me of my favorite place in chicago china town my ONLY complaint is that they were about twice the size of my usual and so I couldn't eat in one bite which meant some broth spillage. This was remedied by the small bowl they provided with the dumplings. Fried rice - was really craving and hit the spot. Not sure what made it so outstanding, I suspect the oil used was infused with something (basil, peppers or garlic are my top guesses) and this was clearly made fresh. Wow, Xiao Long Bao! In Milwaukee? I had no idea... I had convinced myself that this town is an Asian food desert. I guess it's more a Filipino food desert. In any case, I could not have been more excited to find this place. My brother and sister-in-law were in charge of the ordering. They were spot on with their choices: xiao long bao, steamed shao mai, Katsudon, and the Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl. Everything was so yummy! Their Shao Mai (aka shu mai) was hands down the best I have ever had. The roe on top was a nice touch. The Xiao Long Bao was deliciously soupy. It took me a couple of tries to get my soup dumpling eating technique down. The rice dishes were also great but I over-filled myself on the handmade dumplings. *BURP* Service was fast. Not a super chatty server, but he kept our waters filled and got the food to us quickly. Ambiance is very lively and casual. It's a great place to have one of those catch-up-on-life lunches. This was my first time trying momo mee. This was a fantastic experience from start to end. The restaurant has allot of warm undertones, very inviting. The service was amazing. Our server gave us a run down of their menu, he even showed us the proper way to eat the soup dumplings. I wished I remembered his name because I would definitely given him a shoutout. All of the food was amazing, definitely had to try multiple dishes to get the full experience. To me, the star of the show had to be the crispy orange beef with rice. The beef was crispy and sweet, it was so delicious. The cheese mono were really good as well, very creamy, it's their version of crab Rangoon. My hubby loved the soup dumpling. We liked the experience of eating the soup dumplings. Definitely a must try. Taiwanese Gua Bao chicken was so good, spicy, the carrots adds a good crunch. The noodle dish was cooked to perfection. For desert we ordered Fried Mantou with Cinnamon Condensed and Caramelized, Cinnamon Banana Lumpia (comes with ice cream), both were delicious. I had been here two years ago for the XLBs which is what this place is known for. Again, they hit the spot. However, I really think that's the only thing they have to offer. I ordered char sui bbq pork and the Beijing noodles (both items are limited to celebrate the Chinese New Year so you won't see them on the menu). The char sui pork came out as if it had been sitting out for a bit. I think the combination of all dishes to share with my friend made it a little more interesting compare to if I had this dish alone. I could taste the star anise come through. Subtle on the flavor. The Beijing noodles claimed to be spicy... but not even a lingering tingle on the lips. Way more flavorful than the pork but I wanted a spicy kick to it.
