We came here on a whim on a Friday around lunchtime and when I suggested to my husband that we go back the next day, I was only half-kidding. Wow, this place was great! We started with an order of fresh rolls, and they were excellent with a very tasty peanut sauce on the side. I also got a cucumber salad, which was a heaping amount of cucumber slices in a slightly sweet/vinegary watery dressing, and figured I'd take half of it home later, but we found that it was a perfect counterpart to my husband's red curry chicken when he needed to cool his mouth! So naturally there was none left at the end but it was ultimately a terrific choice. Speaking of the red curry, it was very flavorful with nice moist chicken chunks and a perfect blend of spicy and savory. His only minor complaint was that there were an awful lot of green peppers included (not his favorite veggie), but I imagine they can go light on those if requested. We also got a tom kha soup, which was creamy and very coconutty, and delicious. Finally, I tried the Mount Fuji sushi, and that was fantastic. Thin slices of crab in a spicy mayo topped off the 'mountain' and the sushi pieces were slightly warm which was a nice change, but altogether they were so creamy and just melted in my mouth. Honestly I was so impressed with that choice I'm hesitant to try something else, but next time we come by I'll have to because I'm sure there are other awesome options waiting for me. Thainamite offers a great selection of Asian fusion cuisine. I tried their classic salmon roll sushi and pasd see Ew. The tofu appetizer is one of my favorites! Texture was great. We asked for a gluten free prepared option so this version skipped the peanut sauce. I cannot guarantee it truly is gluten free and would double check with the owner how they prepare and set up their gluten free section in the kitchen, but they do say they make them gluten free. They offer outside seating as well for when you want to have some fresh air when the weather is nice! Friendly staff. It wasn't busy during a Sunday afternoon / early evening. read more

The fresh rolls paired so well with the pumpkin curry - cozy comforting curry and refreshing crunchy fresh rolls. I ordered medium spice and it had a good amount of spice - easily soaked it up with the steamed rice. Waiter even offered extra complimentary rice. Excellent and attentive service. Friends enjoyed their dishes, pad see ew, fried rice (not pictured), tom kha soup, and tuna tartare. Ate here recently for the first time and ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. The staff was friendly and accommodating but the food was mediocre. My Pad Thai was unfortunately a bit "over sauced" for my liking. The crushed peanuts and bean sprouts had lost any crunch and were just soggy. The quantity was sufficient for the price however. The inside is bright with floor to ceiling windows and the outside seating might draw a return visit when the weather warms. My advice would be to offer whatever sauce was used, to be served on the side. read more

Food doesn't taste as good, I just got a chicken fried rice and they have been majorly skimping on how much they give you. See photo of what I just got. I've ordered meals that had both chicken and shrimp, but I get no shrimp or one shrimp. Prices are different when you sit down vs when you order - I've been charged more to go and get less. The Khao Soy was some of the best curry I've ever had. The only thing that would have made it better was some basil. My husband and son loved their sushi as well. The service was ok l. It took forever to get my soda and I never received a refill... but my youngest son was disappointed that they were out of their mango sticky rice. The waiter brought over some of the sauce they used for it and redeemed himself. We have ever been to the Thai-Namite in the Public Markets in Milwaukee but will be back here as well. read more

Date night at Thainamite with my wife! We caught a matinee musical at the Marcus Center and then headed to Thainamite for some Thai food that my wife had been craving. Started off with the Satay Chicken and my wife ordered a Thai Iced Coffee to go along. The appetizer came out quick and was delicious! We followed up with my wife's Drunken Noodles and my Red Curry with Chicken. I usually don't like a lot of green pepper in my curry but This one was done right. The peppers were cut small enough they didn't overwhelm each bite. Our server was on top of things and there when we needed him. He even offered an extra scoop of rice to go with the leftovers if I wanted it. We had a great experience and will definitely be back! read more

Fresh light, flavors and not overly Americanized dishes available here. Thai dishes are always served up with slight variations but I've never had to ask for lime wedges and chili paste when ordering pad Thai at a Thai restaurant. Was slightly bummed about that but everything still tasted delicious. I'm very curious about the sushi. There is an extensive sushi menu and "sushi master" rolling and chopping in the restaurant. That area is customer facing which is fun to watch. As for the space, there is ample seating and a host stand right when you walk in. Staff is friendly and prompt. It was freezing inside which was distracting but likely the time of the year we went-between the weird heat had been turned off, AC activated but still cold outside season" we all know well in Wisconsin, lol. I was shopping in the area and it was already 1:30 ish and I wanted lunch because it was starting to get late so I looked on Yelp and this was a bookmark so I stopped over. The place itself is fairly nice with table seating and a nice bar with nice light woods. I sat at the bar since I was going to do a cocktail from the menu with my lunch, duh they have a bar so they must have drink menu. When I saw shrimp tempura on the menu that's what I was going to order with the basil gin and tonic cocktail. My cocktail was interesting because I have never and it was good. My shrimp tempura looked very good with looked life 2 green beans, 2 shrimp, 2 broccoli flowers, 2 squash on a bed of 3-4 sweet potato wedges with a small sauce. The presentation was great by the way. Unfortunately the shrimp was mushy and didn't have a shrimp texture at all which was weird and a small shrimp flavor finish, very odd. The green beans were good until I realized that they are not trimmed so I'm chewing on stem, trim them. The broccoli flowers were my favorite and good. The squash and sweet potato have a similar heavy/dense texture which made made for about half the dish so I felt the dish was unbalanced because it was heavy/dense vegetables mostly. Well, I was really excited to try the volcano chicken and it was totally a bust. I've ordered it at other thai restaurants and volcano chicken usually comes out of the kitchen piping hot and sizzling in a really dramatic fashion....kinda like when you order fajitas. Anyway there was none of that anticipated flare to my dish on Saturday. I found the sauce was watery and it was only kind of warm, but not like steaming hot. Another thing that kind of irritated me was I ordered the chicken extra spicy, but they kind of seasoned it unevenly so every other bite was either spicy or really bland. I feel like I'm complaining a lot but everything just seemed off that night. Hopefully I can go back and try the pad thai as that is usually a staple menu item. I've ordered food from Thainamite multiple times. I've had it delivered and once I picked it up. The food is consistently excellent. My favorite so far is Pad See Ew -stir fried wide rice noodle with egg and broccoli in brown sauce. It is consistently flavorful and comforting. I consistently get two meals out of the entree; portions are generous. The sushi selections are also very good and there is a deep menu of choices. The Wauwatosa location is taking pandemic precautions and limiting customers who enter. I'm a big fan. read more

Thainamite is one of our go-to Thai spots. We love their Tosa locale, with a relatively spacious dining area and bar--it's a bright and welcoming space right on North Ave in Tosa. I'm a huge fan of their crab rangoon. I'm a huge an of crab rangoon in general, but theirs definitely warrants fandom. I routinely order their wrap-a-pad thai, which is essentially pad thai loosely wrapped in egg. Their pad tai is delish and who doesn't like a little extra egg? I've also had other menu items (pad see ew is solid) but, for some reason, I haven't tried their sushi yet, so I couldn't speak to that. They have a full bar with a few fun tropically themed signature cocktails. I love both their Mai Thai as well as their Dark & Stormy (if you're on the fence, I'd go with the Dark & Stormy!). I placed a to go order here so I don't have any comments on service or ambiance. But the food was not up to the mark. I ordered massaman curry and Hawaiian fried rice. The curry was flavorful but the spices were not cooked enough. The fried rice had burnt tofu and cashews in it. The curry powder in the rice tasted weird. Good service, nice vibe/ambiance, but the food (specifically the entrees) falls short. The appetizers were probably the best part. We tried the chicken satay and the cucumber salad as appetizers. The chicken satay was nice and juicy and well seasoned. The cucumber salad was divine. Perfectly sweet and sour. One of the best salads I've had. I think I could eat an old shoe if it were covered in that salad dressing. The drink I had (Thai iced tea) was also good and well made. The entrees were the main disappointment. I had the pad see ew with beef. The ratio of beef to noodles to veggies to egg was off. Not enough noodles, way too much egg, very few scattered veggies. The beef on the plate was also tough. Not tender, and not very tasty. The volcano chicken was a huge disappointment. The first bowl of rice they brought out with the meal was hard and dry (almost stale). We asked for a replacement and they said it would be a few minutes because the new batch of rice was still cooking. I guess that meant ours was from the bottom of the last batch which is probably why it wasn't the best. The chicken itself in the volcano chicken was EXTREMELY dry. I'm talking horribly dry. It was hard to eat. Very bad choice. The sauce was also a lot thinner and runnier than other volcano chicken sauces I've had in the past which made it harder to eat with the chicken, veggies, and rice. Overall, I would consider coming again for appetizers only, but I likely will not eat an entree here again. read more
