Wow, Montana visiting Pahrump had lunch here yesterday and it was so good! Home style good cooking-comfort food too, reminds me of my mother's cooking- thus the name Moms obviously! Our table had Meatloaf plate which was the daily special and Liver and Onions and Chicken Fried Steak. Mash potatoes and gravy oh my! Would have loved to have tried the many delicious sounding desserts like peach cobbler, brownie, etc but we were too full as the serving size left us requiring to go boxes. So I'm a New England girl that grew up eating in diners so I'm always on the lookout for good ones while on the road and Moms did not disappoint! My husband had the breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes and gravy and mixed veggies and I had the tuna melt on rye with Swiss cheese and grilled onions. His cutlet was perfectly breaded and fried and smothered with amazing gravy and my sandwich was so incredibly good. Service was great! I was visiting from out of town, I took my friend for a bite for lunch. She had eggs, potatoes, and a biscuit. She enjoyed it. I ordered a tuna sandwich on sourdough, The bread was not fresh, The tuna itself was dry and tasteless. The mayo was not properly mixed in so It was terrible. I expect a diner to have a good tuna sandwich. I did send it back and ordered the clam chowder which was served luke warm. Hope they do better! read more

A off-the-beaten path gem in Pahrump! From the moment you open the door you feel like you are at home. The eclectic decor and atmosphere is wonderful. We started with an order of chili cheese fries and they were bomb! Crispy and delicious. We had the chicken sandwich with homemade potato salad. The beef and Swiss sandwich was delicious. We have missed the "small town diner" since moving to Las Vegas over a decade ago. Mom's was packed when we arrived - even had to wait a few minutes for a table. I got breakfast, hubs got lunch. Food was super reasonable, fresh, tasty, and great quality. Server Sara was running crazy, but got us everything we needed. A nice surprise for our quick weekend getaway - we will be back. If you are not a regular or a local, you will not get service. My mom lives here and recommended this place. We were put on the waiting list and they sat all the regulars and friends before us. When we finally got seated, we were told to go sit at a table. Didn't give us any menus. We sat there another 10 minutes and we were not waited on. They were passing out menus to people coming in after us and taking orders. This is the second restaurant that did this to us this morning. So had to go to Denny's down the street and got excellent service. Pretty poor way to run a business if you ask me. Discrimination to anyone who doesn't personally know the owner. What a perfect hole in the wall paradise in what is the pit of the Nevada desert. This is a lovely break from the fast food or Chinese that have conquered Purump. We had driven out to the Pahrump Hot Air Balloon Festival today, and after enjoying the great people and surroundings, we took our frozen selves out to Mom's Diner to warm up and eat breakfast. The restaurant was very busy and we were able to get a table right away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our questions. Lilly was our very friendly and helpful waitress. My husband ate a Denver omelette with a biscuit and pancakes on the side he still exclaiming how wonderful and airy the pancakes are and he really enjoyed his breakfast. I had a corn beef hash omelette with cheddar cheese hashbrowns and the most amazing Ryebread ever. The setting is charming prices were reasonable and food quantities are excellent. I love the old school friendliness. There were many local regulars who were known to the staff and they received very warm welcomes, as did we.
