In all honesty I would give this place a three star if it was in the Vegas area. The food is okay but non of it is being made in house. Well at least when it comes to their chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. They are just cooking fro then pre-battered food. Mom's Diner is kind of a prompt favorite, the food is down home, simple and most of the time pretty delicious. They serve lunch dinner and breakfast all the time and they got a pretty good eggs benedict for being in the middle of the desert in a one-horse town. The ranch dressing the blue cheese dressing are amazing and the service is really fast you oftentimes don't have to ask for drinks to be refilled and they've got a lot of great deserts there too! They also have liver and onions which is not something you find on most menus and they make awesome burgers. I wish they were open later but they're open very early in the morning to. They've got a very interesting motif which is kind of an old western miners eccentric and hot rod and car theme. read more

July 2nd was my husband's and I's 30th wedding Anniversary and we went to Mom's Diner. We go there often and always take our out of town company there and yesterday was no exception. We had our granddaughter from Washington, and daughter and son in law from California with us. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. Our son in law is a large young man. Many times he's ordered two plates of food. Five of us couldn't fit comfortably at one little table meant for four people. There were three empty tables. The waitress and the guys started putting two tables together and the owner came over and said, I will not put two tables together and proceeded to grab the chair from my daughter's hand! I've been there many times and witnessed tables being put together for large groups. I don't know what that guy's problem was, but regardless, we'll take our business elsewhere. We walked out. I don't patronize establishments where the employees/owners think it's okay to treat people like crap. We won't be back and we will tell people to go anywhere but your establishment. Maybe the guy with the long beard and tattoos woke up on the wrong side of the bed? That doesn't give him an excuse to treat his customers horribly. read more

With all the good reviews I expected better. Very small 4 egg (don't think so) omlet. Ordered the Bacon Cheese omelette it maybe had a half a piece of bacon and processed shredded cheese. No substitutes or alcart omelette's. I hoped to get a pancake instead of hashbrowns/toast but no go. I don't get why it's so hard to be a little flexible on the menu? Had this misfortune occur twice this week, we've been ignored, treated with impatience and contempt by her. She was so ignorant to my husband and his friend today that I was compelled to write this. She literally snatched the menu from my husband's hand. What time is the shift change? Stopped in while running an errand in Pahrump and we were pleasantly surprised. The food and service was great. I remember a while back that I was ordering breakfast for me and my sister's family from here and by the time I got home there was some food missing in my order so I had to drive back to get the rest but just before I was heading out back to my place one of the employees apologized for the little setback and they even gave me a couple of coupons of free meals. It was packed with locals the prices are super reasonable the service was great and the food was plentiful and good. Sarah our server was friendly and our table had great service. Give sarah a raise. So if you take your Mom, her kitchen, home cooked yummy food and roll in into a restaurant and your Mom then charges you for dinner you would be a Mom's family diner in Puhrump. We stopped in there for a bite when out visiting my sister and was greeted with big smiles and fast service. You can tell this is a locals favorite since many tables were filled with people that seemed to know each other, or were just drinking coffee. I ordered the chicken and avacado sandwich which was decent. I was a little disappointed that the avacado was not slices but just scooped on guacamole. Boo. Still, not too bad. Others at the table had the liver and onions (delishish if you like that stuff), chicken finger (awesome!) and a breakfast plater (Yum). If we were not stuffed we would have got some desert. I grabbed dinner here on the first night of my event at Spring Mountain. Although after looking at the menu, you might think "this is just a breakfast place", you couldn't be more wrong. I ordered the Ribeye dinner with a baked potato, garlic break, and house salad and everything was outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium is what I asked for), seasoned nicely (didn't need steak sauce), and was large. The potato was moist and came with a side of butter and cheese. The garlic bread was subtle but delicious. And last but not least was the house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. Everything was delicious and very filling. And all for less than $20. Their takeout packaging was perfect and they did a nice job following the COVID rules (as ridiculous and arbitrary as they may be). Support local restaurants and check these guys out. Eclectic, fun atmosphere. Mom's diner is good old fashioned comfort food. Service was great and food cooked to order. We had a long day outdoors and warned the waiter we'd be drinking a lot of fluids, he was nice enough to bring us pitchers of water and iced tea.
