Very nice place to shop for some interesting organic groceries, and nice staff and atmosphere. Also not too crowded and hectic. Small as well.

Stupid MOM's. I always buy more than I mean to. Unlike at nearby Whole Foods, however, this happens at MOM's less so because of prices and more so because of their cleverly curated selection of niche and natural food items that's hard to resist. I wouldn't do all my shopping here (I snap up deals from an enormous variety of grocery stores), but I do enough. The produce section isn't huge-being all organic-but it nonetheless is satisfactory, and I've had much better experiences with freshness and quality from the numerous MOM's I've visited than from other stores. Beyond that, though, the variety of bulk items, unusual special-diet-friendly packaged foods, and the healthiest freezer section in the business keep me coming back. No one told me this new location was opening, but having found it, this is quite convenient. It's probably an easier drive than the one in DC for most of us who live in Northwest. And it isn't that far from a Metro stop, unusual for MOM's. It isn't the biggest MOM's store I've seen, but its reachability is a virtue. Factor in all the positive business practices and generous sales, and you've got yourself a winner.

It's not a massive supermarket but has many good things. If you like local organic and don't need to worry about budget, this is your spot! Variety: Organic and natural food, drink, soap, supplements, cosmetics, etc... Price: Not cheap. Customer service: Good. Parking: Free. Samples: Bread, jam, butter, mango lemonade, healthy probiotics drink, a few kinds of coffee and tea, cheese, snacks, roasted sweeten pumpkin seed, etc... Beer tip: You can't purchase like mixed 6packs like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

I gave Streets Market a try and it was hanging with the herbs in the produce section. My lemongrass chicken has now become one of my favorite meals to make. My dinner party guests a while ago loved it. Besides being a surprising place to find lemongrass, Streets is well stocked and convenient for almost anything in your kitchen. Your cooking, baking, snacking, and partying needs can all be met here. On the side, the prepared food section even looks good. The alcohol section in the back is quite expansive. Sometimes I like to peak in to see what flavors of Eastcider or canned cocktails they have. It's usually a little different from other stores. The Asian foods section is robust, with a very wide selection of instant noodles and Buldak ramen! Even though items can be a few dollars more here, it's worth giving it a try if you need something that you cannot get to a large grocery store for. Plus, Streets is well spread out through the city. Some are a little bit different than others, like the 14th St. location has a coffee shop and a section for food cooked to order.

The service was kind and warm, with people who helpfully pointed me toward the items I needed and even opened my non-screwcap water. And don't we all go into W.F.thinking - ohhh, they've got everything you could want- EXCEPT customer service! Very disappointing experience at the Whole Foods on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, DC. After using self-checkout, I accidentally gathered two old receipts that had been left in the machine along with my own receipt. I use receipts for the Fetch app and didn't think anything of it. I also could have simply thrown them away, but there was no garbage can close by that I saw -- the only one I noticed was outside the store. When I asked the security guard for help confirming how many bags I had purchased, she took my receipt and refused to give it back unless I handed over the other receipts. She repeatedly implied I could be using them to scam people because receipts show the last four digits of a card. I found that insulting, embarrassing, and completely unnecessary. This happened in front of other customers, and I was made to feel like I had done something wrong even though I had not stolen anything. When I asked what policy or law I had violated, no one could clearly explain it. There was no posted policy, no written notice, and nothing visible saying a customer cannot pick up or discard a receipt left behind at self-checkout. If this is truly a store policy, it should be posted and explained professionally -- not used as a reason to hold a customer's receipt and embarrass them. A manager later backed her up, but no one handled the situation with professionalism or basic courtesy. I also spoke with a manager named Xavier when I returned to exchange a snack, and I left feeling dismissed rather than helped. I understand stores may have internal receipt policies, but customers should not be embarrassed, accused, or treated like scammers over something that could have been explained calmly. Whole Foods should train staff at this location to handle situations with more respect, clarity, and common sense. I'm goin to contact their DM & share my situation. Also when I exchange my chips - I picked out something that was a dollar or two more expensive. I asked the manager, for all that you've put me thru, embarrassing me, humiliating me, making a scene- wasting an HOUR of my time so frivolously that maybe he could discount my item, a sign of good faith. And I asked "what about the customer always being right?- He shot me down on both accounts, And I know that security woman hadn't read anything that stated that where she could related it to me bc she barely spoke English which made this situation even harder. Initially after going back & forth with her on this, she became fed up & pushed her shoulder walky tawky thingamajig to alert her manager- it was the most ridiculous situation I've ever experienced at a Whole Foods store. SHAME ON WHOLE FOODS! By the way, the 3 extra bags I pitched (a nickel a piece- who care) I dint want a refund, I just gave them away- and still I wasn't treated like a thief!!!'

They were fined by the city repeatedly until they were finally shut down and then took 3 yrs to reopen. Honestly I wish they would've stayed closed or reopened as something else. Don't let some of these fake reviews fool you, here is the real deal on this store https://www.yelp.com/biz/whole-foods-market-washington-2 seems like they created a new profile. That shouldn't be allowed. The store is usually empty and the quality of the produce is usually horrible and very expensive. I think the only thing keeping them afloat is that they cater to the embassy crowd who are too lazy to walk down to Trader Joes or Wegmans. Not to mention it's also a well known fact that they fund ICE so yeah we should all be boycotting them anyway. Can't wait till they close down for good and something better opens up in it's place, maybe a farmer's market or another Wegmans :)
