Last year I stopped in Mom's Sweet Shop and bought a pair of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet. They quickly became the only pair I wanted to wear. That's why I couldn't resist stopping in again this year to check out the new stock. Though I thought nothing could beat my maroon Nike SB's, these new ones are even lighter. Truly, I feel like I'm walking on air, and the price was so good, I treated my girl to a waffle cone and a box of truffles. The dark chocolate "to die for" truffles live up to their name, and she loved the Grand Marnier ones. We will definitely see you again before leaving for home. I really didn't want to go shopping with my lady but I didn't have a choice today. I was expecting a boring day but was in for a magnificent surprise! This store has ice cream and other delicious treats!! I got one of the milkshakes and sucked that down while my lady did her thing. While I was waiting I saw this old school hat in the clothes section and wound up buying a few things myself. If I could stuff my face every time I went shopping I might do it more often! I couldn't help myself and got a handful of chocolates for the road. I seriously doubt they are going to make it far because they are so good. Best ice cream in the obx! I came here with 6 people and we all tried something different. It was so good we all kept trying each other's stuff. Caramel milkshake was amazing. Strawberry milkshake was amazing. They have awesome homemade organic ice creams sandwiches too. They use very high quality ingredients, which is rare these days!!! Two of us got açaí bowls and they were excellent. And that says a lot because we traveled through Brazil and are huge fans of açaí bowls. Even the shredded coconut on top was soft and fresh-- I've never had it like that before! Aside from the food they have super stylish clothing brands and art. This place rocks!!! read more

One of my all time favorite places to shop! The clothes are always amazing. You won't find them anywhere else on the Outer Banks. From vintage to what's trending now. I always end buying something I didn't plan on when I go there. What else is awesome, not only the clothes, but they also serve açaí bowls, smoothies, and milkshakes that are out of this world!! If you've got a sweet tooth this is the spot to go. I seriously can not say enough about their customer service though. This was our first time at Jessica and Dereck's new location and it did not disappoint! The decor and layout are beautiful especially the gorgeous canoe hanging from the ceiling! The shakes, smoothies and açaí bowls are delicious and we loved the candy bar! What I appreciated the most was the tasteful and varied selection of sustainable goods, from clothing to home decor that is also in the shop. It is very well-curated and spaced so it doesn't feel crowded. We enjoyed the patio on back with the tables and shade-a great place for kids to eat ice cream while Mom shops!! read more

I love this shop!! Not only are all the homemade shakes delicious but they sell locally made chocolates as well. My grand kids love picking out candy from the array of candies that they stock specifically for young children. In addition,there are so many really unique items for all ages. Derik and Jessica genuinely love people so I'm sure that everyone that enters their shop feels welcome.
