I kept reading about how great this place was so naturally I had to go and try it out! It's located in Encinitas, California which is a cute and cozy beach town located in North County San Diego . I saw so many great reviews on Tik Tok, but I also knew I had to take it with a grain of salt because some of the reviews are not authentic. So, it was a Friday and I did not have to work. I thought why not have a bite to eat at this place and also try their Iced Matcha lattes out . I headed up to Encinitas for lunch time . When I arrived I was wondering about the parking situation and hoped I would find a spot which I did because this place is located inside a mini shopping area with a parking lot. I did see a one-hour parking spot that I quickly grabbed that was close to the cafe and bistro. Upon walking up to the bistro, I noticed there were many patio tables outside. It was designed just like a Paris cafe that you would imagine. It was busier outside than inside. They had it decorated Paris-themed with French plates on the wall, mirrors, and photos . I walked right up to the cashier and the man behind the counter named Dan was so pleasant and helpful he took my order right away as I explained I only had an hour with the parking. I ended up ordering a BLT and a Strawberry Iced Matcha latte. It did not take very long to get my order, maybe ten minutes if that. The sandwich was fresh and flavorful and my Matcha tasted like genuine ceremonial-grade Matcha. The strawberry really added a wonderful sweetened taste to it. I really enjoyed my food/beverage, the service, and the ambiance immensely . I felt like I had traveled to Paris while still being in Encinitas. Dessert lovers: If you crave fresh and from what I hear delicious pastries, they have their own bakery so try them out! I did not try any because I am on my fitness plan and was good. We tried Mon Chéri for brunch and landed at 3/5 stars, with the service honestly doing a lot of the work here. My husband ordered the BLTA with fries, but removed both the avocado and mayo because he felt having both was excessive. He also added extra bacon because he was pretty sure the standard amount wasn't going to be enough for what he wanted. His overall assessment was that the menu was a little too extra and ultimately declared the place "too bougie." He may not be the target demographic. He thought his food was fine, but also felt the prices were pretty high for what we were getting. I ordered the Miss Paris savory crepe with ham, classic béchamel, Swiss cheese and a farm-fresh egg on top, along with the oatmeal pancakes. The crepe was definitely the stronger choice. The oatmeal pancakes looked gorgeous when they arrived, but unfortunately the texture was a major letdown for me. I was expecting something chewy and fluffy and instead they were really mushy. My husband had two cans of Coke since they don't have fountain drinks, and I had an iced tea. By the time we added everything together, our total with tip was $87 for the two of us. That's a pretty expensive brunch when neither of us was particularly wowed by the food. The service, however, was genuinely good. Everyone was friendly and attentive, they're dog-friendly, and they even brought Ruthie her own water. She was very pleased with the accommodations and would probably rate them higher than we did. Overall, the restaurant is cute, the presentation is beautiful and the service was great, but the food and value didn't quite get there for us. Get yourself to this awesome new restaurant now and go for dinner! Not only is it cute inside but the food is tremendous. We were 2 of only a handful of customers for dinner tonight. This place should be over flowing with people. The service was very good and the food was FANTASTIC! The portion sizes were good and the prices reasonable. The lobster ravioli as an appetizer could have easily been a full entree with a salad or side veggie. It had so much lobster in it and was the best I have ever had. The sauce was to die for. The price was very reasonable. We had the brussel sprouts which were delicious and they came with a ton of carmalized very thick home made pancetta. We got it on the side and there was so much we could have taken it home for leftovers. I had the linguine vongole which was very tasty. My only minor criticism is that it could have had a little bit more sauce to it - I like my Vongole with a bit more moisture (needed a touch more of the white sauce). The macarons were delicious and moist. The other desserts looked amazing but we were too full to try any others. To the management: One issue that may be keeping them from getting more people for dinner is that their website does not show the dinner menu. I wasn't sure they even offered dinner but they were open until 9 pm so I was confused. I actually went in to ask one day to find out. They have a lovely dinner menu and they are definitely open for dinner so please spread the word. I want them to stay in business because they have great food. We walked with our friends from Del Mar to Encinitas, had brunch here, and then walked back. What a find! We all loved our food, seating is cute, and service was attentive. I LOVE eggs benedicts and normally order these when eating out for brunch. This one was especially good. The English muffin was toasted but still chewy in a nice way, the eggs were perfectly poached soft, there was a generous amount of avocado and salmon. I love how they cook with avocado oil. We are so happy this restaurant opened. The food is really good and authentic. We got the lobster ravioli which was fabulous. It came with garlic butter bread. Then we got the Caesar salad which was very fresh. Excellent dressing. Then I got the coq au vin which I lived and my husband got the chicken ballotine. Flavor was very good. We then for dessert got the mini fruit tarts. Yummy. Will get that each time! Perfectly hit the spot. I really appreciated the classy cutlery. Makes the food taste better. Kevin our server was great. Incredibly cute bistro in a great spot with great food. They offer lunch very early which I really liked, was actually able to order a French onion soup at 9:30 AM! Can't say that about many places! This place has recently opened, thought we'd come in for the first time and give them a try. The first thing you see is the lovely ambiance. The café is so quaint, every attention to detail has been considered, even the cutlery and glasses they use are exquisite. The bakery counter looks mouthwatering, it's also nice that they have a few gluten free deserts available. I did mention that maybe serving bread with the entrees would be a nice addition, even better would be sourdough baguette so it may be available to some gluten sensitive individuals. The service was fantastic, our waiter was so nice and welcoming. Our food, as you can see from the pictures was also FANTASTIC. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the salad with the fried goat cheese was such a nice compliment and of course, you can't go wrong ordering French onion soup, one of my ultimate favorites. I was really excited to try this new spot. Love French cafes and what a great location. It was super cute inside, very aesthetically pleasing. Tons of shaded outdoor seating which is always key for me as I love being outdoors. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine ( Bacon, swiss, caramelized onions) with roasted potatoes. FIRE. I also got an oat milk latte, super delish. My dad ordered the BLT and he housed it. He said everything tasted super fresh and it wasn't too heavy but it was very satisfying. This place is definitely cute inside...I guess the decor got all the seasoning. We ordered the honey lavender latte, Brie omelette, smoked salmon Benedict, and lobster bisque. The "honey lavender" latte tasted like a regular cup of coffee that forgot it had a personality. The Brie omelette was so bland it made plain toast seem adventurous. The smoked salmon Benedict and lobster bisque were...fine. Not terrible, just nothing to write home about. When I mentioned that the food was bland, our waitress responded with a heartfelt "OK." Then a bee started aggressively auditioning for the role of restaurant security. I let her know about that too, and once again: "OK." The gentleman waiter was kind, so points for that. Overall, $66 for food that forgot salt exists and customer service that treated both bland food and an attack bee with the same level of concern? I'll pass. This place is SO good!!! Both service and food were amazing! My mom and I were served by Gretchen and Fernando assisted and both were so helpful and had a great vibe! I really appreciate when staff can give helpful, nuanced recommendations for food and almost insist you try certain items that they know you'll enjoy! This place is super cute. It was very nice also before when it was another French bakery or restaurant long ago. Easy to find parking. easy to find a table inside or outside. Very clean, elegant lines, very Parisian style...but the food is nothing special. I had the salmon benedit and the eggs were kind of cold when arrived to the table and think it was too pricey for what the dish was. I should have stick to the pastries that look amazing. Cappuccino was good but I would have preferred also hotter. Service was super nice, especially the girl with the updo so adorable and attentive. It seems to be the ideal brunch place for girlfriends as there is so much space and there is the French charm factor and decor that looks so nice in pictures. read more

Love this place! My friend suggested lunch and we both ordered crepes. I had the Nutella crepe with bananas and strawberries. It was perfect. The next night my husband and I decided to go there for dinner. He had Coq au vin--very tasty. I ordered the Steak with frites. We were all set to dine there for a weekend lunch until we walked in and saw 2 flies trapped in the glass case that had the french pastries inside of it. After seeing those flies land on many different types of pastries, we immediately lost our appetite. Maybe we'll come back once the restaurant owners get a better handle on their FLY problem! They just opened this place up and my wife caught it randomly. We dropped in for a late Sunday lunch. Service was solid and the Staff is genuinely happy to be here. We happened to sit next to Grechin (spelling?) who works for the company (bit was having a meal before leaving) and she shared why she love this company. Integrity of food quality was a key thong I heard (she didn't say it specifically but it was clear). A French place for folks who need to manage their carbs/gluten is rare. Lots of non-bread options. The food was clean, simple, and amazing. The Steak (and eggs) was HIGH quality, tender, and delicious. The doors open are inviting but make the wall seats kind of a wind tunnel. Perfect for Sunday in Encinitas but could annoy some. Not bad but anyone who doesn't enjoy eating semi-outdoors may not like it. Great experience for any length of time operating but for the first week they nailed it! We hope they do really well! We are in this area all the time and will be eating here a LOT. read more

Good location and diverse menu. But the service needs work. They mixed up our order (getting sides confused between two people) and forgot to put my order in. By the time my food arrived, the rest of my group had finished eating. It was probably 20 mins later. Not sure if the server is new or their system needs work, but they weren't that busy so it shouldn't have happened. On weekends when it's busy I can't imagine how messy it gets. Loved the whole experience! We were going to go to Bistro du Marche for a special occasion but decided to support local after visiting for breakfast on Monday. Food was excellent! Lobster ravioli and crab cakes to share, boeuf bourguignon, coq au vin and onion soup for mains. Server was very attentive. Imagine our surprise that we when were finished, the waitress brought out a piece of chicken and our bill reflected a $12 charge for the salmon. We were beyond pleased with our first visit to the new restaurant in the Lumberyard in Encinitas. We sat outside on the patio with our two big dogs in a lovely setting. We were there for breakfast but they're open also for lunch and dinner. My Brie omelette was delicious with the rosemary roasted potatoes. It was elegantly served and the overall service was exceptional. My Brie omelette was stuffed with spinach, fried onions, mushrooms and Brie and served with melted Brie on top with avocado and more spinach and mushrooms. I couldn't eat all of it! Good coffee too! 2nd time dining here, this time for dinner. Food was excellent and we had a great recommendation on wine from Mika. But service was awful. We had a new server (2nd day) so I would expect some stumbles but she knew absolutely nothing about the menu. She also never got us silverware. Our food came before we had silverware (had to ask twice as our food sat there getting cold) or our wine. Had to flag down the server for our bill. She never came back to check on us. Saw other patrons having problems too. Also saw people waiting at the hostess stand with no one there to help even though there were several employees chatting inside. We ordered the beef Bourgogne which according to the menu was supposed to have Brussel Sprouts. It did not. I really want to like this place, as I said, food was delicious. But they need to step up their game if they want to make it in Encinitas. Lots of other options. read more
