Came here for breakfast on the Fourth of July for the first time. I loved it! The vibe is chill and beachy while being modern at the same time. Our server, Zach was great as well as the rest of the staff. The food was delicious. We will definitely come here again. The parking lot gets full easily but not a problem when you are going there for breakfast.
Stopped by this place on a whim! Was a really good choice for a casual but nice dinner on a Wednesday. Very friendly staff--Zach or Zack (unsure of his spelling) was great!!! He took care of us. The orange wine was funky, just how I like it. The cocktails were not too strong, and very flavorful and refreshing. Apps especially the ceviche (not pictured) were unique, light, and so tasty. The braised beef dish was so tender. The Cesar salad was good, and the fluffy big baked croutons w/cheese inside was unique but a little too rich for my taste. It could've used a little more salad dressing too. And the chicken added to it was quite dry and not flavorful. We would come back. :)

Server was very friendly and attentive to us. He found out it was my birthday and brought me a little dessert too!
The ambiance at Waverly is unmatched. It's very laid back and makes me feel like I'm on vacation. We have always done walk in and usually get seated even though we do not have a reservation. Come early though (before 11AM)! For brunch I ended up ordering the grilled ham and cheese sandwich. It has a sunny side eye on top along with prosciutto and creamy Gruyère cheese sauce. Looks like an art piece! Super yummy and decently priced. Service is tentative and waitress was super friendly and enjoyed our conversation. We will have to come back for their lunch hours as a few items caught my eye.

They are absolutely professional, not like the type of servers who come to your table with weird body language and very high tones." BTW this is something I always pay attention to" The food was delicious! I got the avocado toast with sunny side up and my husband got the turkish poached eggs and he also loved it. The beverages were fantastic as well. My matcha Latte was very warm and lovely. The red drink is on the healthy shot list, sorry I can't recall the name at this moment but it was very refreshing. Had a great brunch experience here! The food here is great and the vibe is even better. Love the laidback feel and was very surprised that they had a DJ playing live. SHAKSHOUKA * 18 This was super yummy. They use San Marzano tomatoes, which are the best tomatoes for any type of tomato sauces (not to mention marinara). The poached egg on top was also cooked perfectly, and the sourdough bread was the right balance of crispy and chewy. CREME BRULEE FRENCH TOAST * 16 This was better than I expected. Not sure what I was imagining for a creme brulee french toast, but they really captured the creme brulee flavor and texture. The french toast did't come with syrup, so if you're big on that, this might not be one for you. The sweetness was perfect in my opinion, and the fruits were very fresh. BREAKFAST RICE BOWL * 18 My friend got this one, so I can't quite speak for him, but he seemed to really enjoy it. The scrambled eggs looked fluffy and the greens looked fresh. Great macro options if you're looking to not crash after brunch. DARK HORSE * 19 This was a great drink! Well mixed and the flavors were good, I'm not surprised that it's a staple on the drinks menu (they have seasonal cocktails). My friend who comes here often recommended it and I agree with him. I would definitely get this again. THE WAVERLY * 19 If you're a gin fan, this is a great option. Another staple on their cocktail menu. Gin isn't my go-to, but I decided to give this a try, seeing that it was at the top of the menu. I'm glad I did because it was good. The service was great here, even though it's quite busy on weekends. I think it would be best to make a reservation and arrive early since parking can be an issue. The decor inside is very nice and the booth seats are super comfy. Not sure if the DJ is always there, but it can be a bit loud if you are looking for some place quiet for conversation, but if you aren't it's a really great vibe.
Waverly in Cardiff is a great brunch spot with a lively vibe and beautiful interior decor. The menu is nicely curated, offering everything from savory options like the Sonoma lamb shawarma wrap and sausage egg sandwiches to fun dishes like funfetti pancakes and crème brûlée French toast. Visited on Easter Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. The live DJ spinning vinyl added a fun touch--starting with upbeat tunes and later switching to soulful oldies, which felt a bit unexpected but still enjoyable. Located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking, next to an açaí spot and a pizza place. Ordered the lamb shawarma wrap and an Aplós Ume Spritz--the drink was refreshing, and while the wrap was a good size, it leaned a bit bland. The crispy potatoes on the side were a highlight. Food took about 20 minutes but came out well-prepared overall.

It's OK if you're not in a rush and don't mind paying premium for modest plates, but it didn't wow us.

Definitely seems like a cute brunch spot to drink at and hang with the girls.
TL;DR: drinks are good but the egg sando is best! I usually come for the drinks and the ambiance. This time was no different - the drinks were all well-balanced and tasty However, this time was a little hungrier than normal so I also ordered the egg sandwich and wow! I'll be getting this every time I come back! Large 1/4-cut jammy eggs on top of crunchy toast. I understand the price is probably not exactly great but for the amount of flavor packed into each bite, totally worth it! Service was great as per usual and of course love the ambiance! Awesome. Came for Mother's Day (with reservation) and it was great all around. It's coastal, cool, breezy, a little upscale but not snooty, chill. Good food and strong drinks. Yours truly had a Bodega Boy; mezcal cocktail with sort of a horchata vibe. I also had the double double burger and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and amply portioned. Btw: get the butterscotch pudding. You're welcome. I left stuffed and slightly wobbly. Fun place, good service. I'd go back. read more

Cute place in Cardiff with friendly staff, but food is a bit overpriced in my opinion. The croutons are $5 a piece! I got the egg salad sandwich, and I got what was pictured. Maybe don't advertise it as a sandwich when it's just eggs on toast? Or at least put on the menu that it's open faced read more

Just stopped in for a relaxing Sunday night meal on Super Bowl Sunday and it was pleasantly spacious and relaxed with some old-school R&B playing while the sun was setting. That alone is worth a review. But then we dive into the trout ceviche with shrimp chips that are fantastic, and all the flavors are lined up and perfect. After that, I'll do a Beef Rioja before either the butterscotch pudding or the sticky toffee date cake. I love this place! read more

Great spot to come and enjoy! My pup and I came here for our last lunch in Encinitas and it was PERFECT! I had no idea that they had a pup menu so that worked out perfectly! The vibe outside is like an up-leveled chill spot. The weather was perfect and there was lots going on to watch. Not too many flys around which was a plus as well. The staff were super friendly and attentive to what my pup and I both needed. Of course I ordered the surf and turf for my lil Lilikoi and she LOVED IT. It was a half beef patty and a filet of salmon and they both were generous sizes. I ordered the spa day mocktail which was delicious and the filet o fish which I truly enjoyed as well. This was the perfect last meal before driving home. I 100% recommend this spot and will be coming back when I visit again! read more
Disclaimer: I visited during their collab with the grass skirt so many of the dishes might not be on their regular menu lol. I took my friend out here on a Monday night to celebrate a special occasion! I've seen this place on social media so I was glad we got a reservation. Parking is 2 hours in the lot but I didn't have any issues with finding a spot or worrying I was gonna get towed. Very cute and clean restaurant, good beach ambiance. We were seated on the patio, which was fine but you're right next to the parking lot lol so it's not the best view looking out. Service was alright, they didn't check on us often but they weren't rude. We ordered the spicy tuna tacos, lamb dan dan noodles, and shrimp bang bang. A good amount of food for 2 people! The food was sooo delicious, great quality and good serving. I'd recommend if you get the chance to try! read more
A beautiful interior designed restaurant with plenty of patio seating. My friend made reservations for three in the main dining room which includes the patio and indoor area. We preferred indoor seating and the hostess seated us indoor after some adjustments. I ordered the fish filet sandwich. It had brioche buns, tartar sauce, fried fish filets, and fries. It was pretty filling and delicious. We also shared the creme brulee french toast, it was one piece. It was beautifully bruleed with whip cream and fruits. I also sipped on the quick fix juice, it was a tasty drink but a small size that our waiter clearly explained. read more

Parking: in a lot with shared businesses but it can get busyyy- read any posted signs! Ambiance: such a vibeeeee, dined on a weekend afternoon with a live DJ . the place was tastefully decorated with a crowd that carried great energy. it was a sunny day and the great weather was infectious for our giddy moods Service: i thankfully made reservations and was seated outside in a few minutes. the place was packked so we anticipated slow service and for our food to arrive late- esp because a lot of tables around us didn't seem like they received their food yet. the person taking our order was a seasoned staff because he went from table to table with a quickness and gave fast recommendations. my husband and i took his food recs and we were extremely satisfied Food: arrived surprisingly quick! i ordered their weekend special- sausage egg Sando that the server recommended. this was DELISH and I'd def order it again. my husband got their ceviche (staff warned it was a small portion) but it was worth it! Drinks: rosemary matcha for my husband and quick fix for me. the quick fix was extremely refreshing- i just wish it came with more. the rosemary matcha was good but wasn't memorable We're not from the area but if we're ever in town again, we'd def drop by again! read more

Had a great time at Waverly in Encinitas thanks to our server Michael. Recommendations were spot on and ended up being some of our favorite parts of the meal. DEFINITELY recommend this spot. Came here for a surprise birthday dinner with my boyfriend and was blown away by the whole experience. Our server Ramon was constantly checking up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. He was so kind and welcoming which made the experience even better. The manager also checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our time here and we really appreciated that! We came during happy hour and the drinks were FANTASTIC along with the Single Single burger. After a few drinks we ordered the Agnolotti pasta, scallops and Grilled Australian lamb chops which were all absolutely delicious. The vibe was so relaxed. We were able to watch the sunset from our table which made the experience even better! Highly recommend coming here for any occasion. read more

Came back for dinner and had the best experience. As expected the drinks were amazing, and would recommend dinner over breakfast hands down. There is a lot more creativity in the dinner dishes and flavor than experienced at breakfast. We had the cavatelli pasta, "ceviche", and caesar salad. Each was unique and delicious. Knowing the pasta was homemade made my heart happy as thats rare to receive at restaurants. The servers were all really polite & accommodating which was appreciated with two littles. Sorry to not get servers name, she was great though, a real gin girl ! read more

2-4 stars. This place has been on my list for a while now and on Saturday I got the opportunity to try it out. Seems like making reservations is the way to go for this spot because we were there before noon and apparently all the interior seating was already reserved. They said they could sit us out front at the patio, but they had another reservation coming at 11:45am. We assured them we'd be done by then, even though I'm a slow eater. The host and server were really friendly and kind. Their service was fast and thoughtful! I thought it was interesting how their menu was a mix of healthy and recreations of popular fast food items. Although the prices were insanely high. It's honestly so wild. They had a Daytime Menu (11am-3pm) and another menu which had their yogurt bowls, French toasts, etc on it. I went with their $19 Filet O Fish from their 11am-3pm menu. I wasn't sure if I'd like it because I've never had local rockfish before. Honestly I didn't like this fish at first, but once I lathered more of the tartar sauce on it I enjoyed it. It also contained lettuce and American cheese. The breading of the filet o fish was crispy, light, and herby. It was pretty tasty! It came with a side of fries that were on the well done side. They put the ketchup in a little jam jar that was quite difficult to dip into. The server came out with a easy to dip bowl of ketchup, which was really kind of her since I didn't mention anything about it. Overall, idk if this is worth $19 for, but it was not bad. My aunt had their $17 Ancient Grain Bowl, this contained avocado, farm egg, cremini mushrooms, Kale, tomatoes, harissa yogurt, and feta. Honestly it was a small portion, but plated beautifully. They gave two poached eggs on top. My aunt said the harissa yogurt was the star of the bowl. She also got herself a $12 glass-- which was tiny, as small as my fist. It had diff veggies, peppercorn, etc. Not for me. Even though it was a "superfood" juiced item, I don't agree with the price for the quantity given. The Waverly is a cute spot but their prices are absurd. They even had a menu for dogs and a simple pb, banana, and yogurt pupsicle was $9! The prices were between $9-15, for a DOG. It may be a spot that others enjoy spending their money at, but it's not for me. read more
One of my sisters had tried this place for breakfast before and enjoyed the food, so we decided to give it a try for dinner. Glad she made a reservation because it was a Saturday night and crowded. Open interior, dimly lit, with plenty of tables inside and out. Service with a friendly smile is always a plus! Their evening menu had quite a few selections, so we ordered several things to share. All in all we enjoyed our choices, which all had their own unique umami. Our drinks weren't bad, a little overkill on the ice but decent nonetheless. The dessert was the perfect ending to our dinner. The food here is so great & the vibes are cute! The drink menu is fun. Haven't had a cocktail here that I didn't like, but heads up the bar is typically slow; order asap! The breakfast bowl, potatoes, croutons, fish.... They're all excellent. The Bao pop up menu is tasty! Really great flavors with legit spice. Didn't love that they used spaghetti in the garlic noodles dish, but otherwise tasted good. Heads up - this place gets a serious breeze when you sit in the doorway. Ask for blankets! read more

Yes! Vinyl Sundays! From 11am - 2pm every Sunday.

It'd be a good sunset view, but no direct ocean view.
What days/times do you have a dj or live music?
Hi Renee, we offer live Jazz music every other Wednesday. Our next Jazz night is tomorrow May 11th. As for DJs they play every Thursday-Saturday at 8pm and during Sunday brunch starting at 12pm.
Do they accept walk ins for a party of 6 brunch time?
Hi Marissa! On Saturday and Sunday brunch it is difficult to take large party walk-ins, however, on weekdays we can usually make it work! It wouldn't hurt to call ahead and speak with a host.
