I looked at several companies. This is the only company that froze the elec. rate so that as the lease progressed over the years my rate stayed the same. I wanted to apply enough panels to reduce 1/3 of my overall house usage. We just bought an electric car and expected an increase in usage. I am still waiting-no one is returning my texts-I got a text out of the blue from an unnamed person saying it'll take "some time" to schedule inspection, when I was told "7 business days" 2.5 weeks ago. I finally called customer service last Thursday and they aren't getting responses either from anyone! I wish I had paid attention to these reviews before doing this. If it isn't finished by December 31-our net metering will not be $ for $-it's cutting pretty darn close and I'm tired of having solar panels on my driveway! Argh! Communication is absolutely awful! This company has put me through the worst times of my life, if you're reading this and thinking about installing solar panels with these people, DON'T DO IT!! RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!! First of all, to accept my project, they made it easy for me, they said yes to everything. But when it came to the inspection, they acted crazy and put me on hold for ever. My project was scheduled to be installed in September 2024 and they made that on time, but I could not activate it until this past July 2025 (ALMOST A YEAR with those panels in my roof not able to produce energy). It failed the inspection 3 times due to the installer's negligence and poor communication on Monalee's part. Aside from that, the finance company started charging me the monthly payment for the panels in December 2024. Monalee said they would take care of those payments until my system was up and running, THAT WAS A LIE!!! They did send me refunds 3 times, but I had to pay the last 3 months (May, June, and July) out of my pocket!! In addition, when my system was finally up and running, I couldn't connect it to the ENPHASE app, and when I asked for help they just ignored me. Thankfully, my area of expertise is technology, and thanks to ENPHASE and their technical support, we were able to determine why I couldn't link the system to my account. It turns out that the Monalee installer had my system linked to his personal account. Not worth it at all, I will not recommend them even to my worst enemy. read more

I was looking for solar and received quotes from a ton of solar providers. Mona Lee's was the best quote by far. I couldn't find a ton of reviews for them, but they are a newer company. So I took a leap. I had to do more work because their communication was not very good. There were a number of delays, and it was me tracking down who to talk to every time there was an issue. I did speak with the owner of the company, but it was still a slough to get some help. They were mostly quick to respond when I did find someone to talk to, but it was tough waiting around. A PRO-ACTIVE approach would have been much more preferred. I'm paying out the cost of a truck with them, and would have liked my fears and concerned addressed a little better. Otherwise, their subcontracted installer was great to work with, the install is beautiful and they did deliver what was promised. read more

Originally signed up with Energypal/Xfinity Energy to secure Nem2, cost $14k more than Monalee. Waited like 5 months, they couldn't get the job done because we didn't have the roofing blueprint. They ask me to pay additional for an engineer planning, so I gave up. About to gave up installing solar project. Saw Monalee ad, was skeptical, thought I give it a try, didn't cost anything since I went with financing. It was $14k less than the first installer. Pricing is good. However, they do a terrible, terrible job engineering your job. They installed on my flat roof and they did not engineer to angle the panels towards the sun. They only ran one electrical string to the inverter and placed the panels so there was shading on 7/8 of the panels. So, I am getting only 1/4 of the power as estimated by the NREL PVSolar Calculator. That is horrible performance - currently less than $0.50 a day of electricity. When I said that I thought they were going to angle the panels they told me I had signed them off. Well on a 2D drawing you can't tell if something is angled or not. I assumed they were. They initially offered to sell me the upgrade and then they changed their mind and would not provide a quote to angle the panels until I paid for the complete installation. I would never work with them again because of their customer service attitude. I also later found out the feet they installed on my flat roof was meant for a sloped roofs and so they installed my flat roof as if it was sloped roof. The feet for flat roofs had much better leak protection, but they didn't install that. Use them at your risk. I am now trying to figure out how to fix my poorly engineered system. read more

Highly disappointed in service and communication. After reading the reviews here the 5 star reviews are from folks that didn't have a hiccup in the process. I'm going on 4 months without an inspection because of a simple broken piece of glass on the diverter wall panel. No one responds to text and calls anymore as I politely try to come up with solutions. Can we simply fix the glass $70? This is holding up 4 projects costing me over $600 a month and all I am told is they are waiting on the replacement door. No out of the box solutions apparently, they know about a poor long waiting supply chain of parts from Tesla but never shared it with me before installing. They demand full payment or they won't schedule the inspection for us. We had to pay in full first, however they have been delaying inspection since! As I was checking around for solar, I found Mona Lee on Facebook. I compared them to two other solar providers and found that they were cheaper, had a lot of great reviews and the panels were somewhat the same as other providers. I thought I would take a chance on them and was greatly satisfied. They kept in touch every step of the way and made sure I knew what was going on.
