Very Fast Solar installation. Good follow up system for issues identified thru inspection.

I originally signed on with Mona Lee Solar. But other considerations caused me to cancel the contract well before the mandatory three days. I paid $1030 as a "fully refundable' deposit during the initial contact. I have not received any money to refund my deposit. It is now six weeks since I cancelled the contract and have emailed them several times. They do not respond. read more

It's been SIX MONTHS and we still aren't fully online with our system. We got the PTO WEEKS ago and they still haven't finished configuring our system. We keep opening tickets and get the same, "we'll contact you soon to schedule someone to come out" and then nothing. My electric bill is still over $400/mn even with my solar system at 90% self-powered. read more

Mona Lee is a great provider for the Solar System. There was no pressure, communication was good, and the system works amazing! Our power from Edison was turned off to due weather for 4 days (power shutdowns due to possible fire dangers), and we did not lose any food, and we were able to keep our phones charged and entertain the kids with their iPads. We did have an inspector show up without any one form Mona Lee, which they were supposed to be, so we had to reschedule that. Not a big issue, but that is why I did 4 starts. I was up and running by June 26th, the biggest hold up was the local electric company in El Paso making me wait roughly 6 weeks. Mona Lee was with me from start to finish as true professionals. From the first conversation about my lack of knowledge about solar to being guided thru each step, it's been quite a educational journey

I recently purchased a solar storage battery (SSB) from Monalee. Part of the sales pitch and their advertisements was that my local energy supplier (SMUD) was offering a $5,000 rebate, which made the SSB affordable. Everything was going smoothly - and I'd paid as agreed. The rebate would come after the installation and would be, with Monalee's minor help, my responsibility. Monalee emailed me a link to SMUD's website, and I applied for the $5000 rebate. Now - one step back. A couple of weeks before installing what was to be a TESLA brand battery, Monalee contacted me and told me that there were no TESLA batteries available, and they didn't know when they would be able to get one. However, they dealt with another brand equal to TESLA in quality. So, I agreed to that other brand, I paid all fees, and the other brand was installed. I then contacted my energy provider (SMUD) and they told me that the rebate was ONLY if a TESLA brand was installed. SMUD would not provide the rebate. NO ONE at Monalee ever said a word about that 'tiny' bit of information, and despite them being responsible for such information, they originally told me they would do nothing about the $5000 that I'm now having to pay. NOT A PENNY! In addition, part of the SMUD rebate included a $110 credit every three months ($440/year) that I will not receive. After going back and forth with their representative, Monalee has offered to refund $1500. I'm STILL OUT $3500 for, what I consider to be (to a degree) a bait and switch. Why a bait and switch? First, Monalee has, in an email, acknowledged that the rebate was part of the sales pitch. But, NOWHERE was the issue of the rebate being limited to a Tesla battery discussed. Had I been informed by their salesman, I'd have waited until the Tesla brand SSB was available. read more

They were very professional in some ways but in the end, their way of doing business cost me an extra $17k. They tell you when you sign up you have two finance options: an 11% interest rate or a 4.9% interest rate. Both at 25 years. The 4.9% has added fees. You'll be asked to choose one but are told you can change it and are not locked in. Their overall process tracks all the major stages of the solar installation. What it doesn't have, however, is a stage telling you have to finalize your finance option. So when I was contacted by the finance company I told them I did not want the 4.9% option since I was planning to pay it off in 5 years and I did not want the added fees. There was "nothing they could do". I contacted Mona Lee and while they gave the pretense they would fix this, THEY DIDN'T. I am now stuck with an additional $17K in fees!!! The cost went from $32K to over $49K!! Wow!! So much for being more economical. Someone got a big fat bonus and is enjoying the misery they are putting me through. Don't buy from them. Friendly or not, don't deal with a company who has dishonest business practices. read more

I priced several companies that all came in at a higher cost. I incorporated a new roof and solar to fully offset my usage. The entire process has been very detailed and transparent. Mona Lee is very good with a respectable price point. In 6 months I'll post again to give an update. read more

Please be aware of this company !!!! In July 2024 they came to my house and provided an estimate to install two battery pannels to my existing solar system. We signed a contract and I paid a $2060.00 deposit for work to be performed at a later time. One month passed and they called me to tell me that the price is now higher and I needed to pay more to get it installed so I asked for the contract to be canceled and we did just that. I was told in August that a refund in the amount of $ 2060.00 would be credited to the American Express I paid within 30 days. Since then I have written and called them many times and they keep telling me that they are a small company and they will refund my deposit first was October, January and today I was told March 6, 2025 !!! PLEASE BE AWARE !!!! You might never get what you paid for ... Today I decided for American Express to deal with them ... read more

I purchased Monalee Solar in Dec of 2024. Installation took place over several days. No issues. I took a few of the days off of work but had to go in on 2 of the days. When I went to access my accounts for the components they sold me- specifically for the app for the Franklin Battery, I found I had not been left the information to access the app. The installation company, a contractor, had failed to leave me the required paperwork and had failed to input my information as owner with Franklin and they are still listed as owner. In addition the solar is covering less than 50% of my demand even with me purchasing multiple more panels then projected. After 100's of phone calls with Monalee, multiple emails to installers with the same name, endless google searches, I have had no resolution. There is no follow up with Monalee. The customer support was sending me the same articles I was googling. read more

Mona Lee Review I really liked the idea of no middle man or aggressive sales and a cheaper price. But this is what happened. My first contact was with an excellent customer sales representative named Micah. He was consistent, communicative and helped me as much as he could even after I canceled service with them. I received my initial solar estimate in July 2023 and paid my deposit at that time as well. From there I was handed off to their project manager, Dan. He coordinated a site inspection and it was determined I would need a new main service panel which would increase the contract price over 5K, and said prices could still be increased depending upon the complexity of our design. Despite some reservations, I decided to move forward and asked if he could get a final estimate from his engineers so I could secure the funds. He did respond stating that he would determine this with them to arrange another site visit and then get back to me soon. Over the course of a month, it was crickets and felt like pulling teeth to get a response from Dan. He apologized for not responding to me on three separate occasions saying he would get back to me soon stating that his engineers/technicians hadn't gotten back to him. I was close to canceling at this point, but decided to email the CEO and his other supervisors requesting a new project manager. I wasn't certain the CEO would respond, but he did and indicated they were having a staff meeting about my situation and will get this resolved. The CEO did follow-up quickly, though said he could not assign me a different project manager as Dan was the only one who could complete complex installations such as mine. Exhausted at this point, I reluctantly agreed to stay with them as I didn't want to start over with another company. Dan was much more responsive at that point, however did not arrange another physical site inspection at my home as he said. On top of that, he emailed me back saying that he discussed the project further with his engineers and the extra cost would not be 5k more, but 10k more and this was all determined remotely without a physical inspection as he said. At that point I finally had enough common sense to cancel. But to add insult to injury they refunded me $750 of my $1000 deposit despite never agreeing to the amount above the initial contract I signed for. If it weren't for Micah helping me with the refund, I probably wouldn't have received a dime. Despite all this, I found a local solar installer that determined I didn't require a new main service panel and just a sub-panel. They also are installing a system 25% larger and 5k less than Mona Lee. At this point, all I can say is lesson learned. read more

There is now an issue with the system and I have contacted them via email and calls over 20 times and they send you to this third party call center that keeps telling me "someone will contact you" and it has been a month and no response and no accountability from this company. Be very careful. This company will ask you to sign documents on line and not tell you the small print. I was told verbally there were no cancellation fees. I made a point of having a phone call meeting to clarify this. Not true. They basically hid this in a small line on their contract and did not say anything about it - even though I expressly asked for this to be clarified. Save to say BBB is getting involved. Also be very cautious. Their actual products are not the best quality, they really are the same price as everyone else, they ask you -for ask read coerce - into quickly signing documents online - including a loan agreement. read more
