I have had many experiences with a pushy salesperson who only saw a potential sale versus my needs as a customer. This was absolutely NOT the case with Monaco Ford. From the moment I arrived for my appointment to the moment I left, I was met with extreme respect, friendliness, and a general happy-to-help disposition from every person working with me. My Sales Team, Caden and Adrian were absolutely OUTSTANDING. I gave them my budget and what I needed in a vehicle, and right away, we honed in on a few different options that suited both my budget and driving needs. Within minutes, I was test driving my first choice. The owner of the dealership, Mike Monaco, also introduced himself to me, and I was blown away by how genuinely nice he is, along with, how much he clearly cares about his business, his employees, and customers. I got a quote for a new Maverick from your company with a trade on my 2021 F150 Super Crew cab XLT with 54k miles. You company quoted me $20k on my trade. I purchased my truck from your company new. Saybrook Ford quoted me $27k on my trade. I also got a quote to change my spark plugs at 60k which is required on my 2.7 liter 6 on my truck for $850 at Niantic. That was with the Costco discount. I wish I could rate this negative stars. Terrible customer service. Absolutely ZERO honoring of warranties. My cousin bought a used car from Monaco Ford for $12,000 after being told it had a full inspection. That clearly was not true. Calls and messages asking for help were ignored. In under six months, nearly $8,000 in repairs were needed on a $12,000 car. Buyers beware. Bought a used car from Monaco Ford for $12,000 with the guarantee that there was a full multi point check/inspection before purchasing. Here's my story: I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on May 28th. Within the first month of ownership, the check engine light came on, and I contacted the dealership to report the issue. Around July 20th, I went in for a routine oil change and discovered the vehicle had no oil in it. A safety inspection was then scheduled for July 29th, and I later brought the car back on August 11 due to a damaged timing cover and oil pump. This was a $2,700 repair, which the dealership covered because it was still within their 3-month warranty. The dealership kept my car for one week, during which I had no transportation. I was told I could not be provided a loaner vehicle because I was not old enough. Approximately three weeks later, the check engine light came on again. Concerned that the vehicle had ongoing serious issues, I contacted the Glastonbury location and left a detailed message requesting an extended warranty and my concerns, but no one ever returned my call. I eventually contacted the gentleman who sold me my car, to have the vehicle inspected again. An appointment was scheduled for September 30th, at which point I was informed the car needed a new catalytic converter, a repair costing approximately $3,000. The dealership refused to cover this repair, stating the vehicle was out of warranty. Mind you I've had this car for four months. On top of this, I spent $2,200 out of pocket today to repair the exhaust cam, cam gear, bolt, and tensioner. I was informed by a Hyundai dealership that this damage was likely caused by the vehicle burning oil, which is consistent with the car being driven with little to no oil early in my ownership, shortly after I purchased it. This experience has been extremely frustrating and costly. I am a rational person, I realize there are costs/risks with buying a used car but I never expected $8,000 in repairs within the first 6 months of owning the car. The repeated mechanical failures, lack of communication, and unwillingness to stand behind a vehicle that showed serious problems from the beginning are unacceptable.This car was clearly not properly inspected and now I'm paying for it. After assuring us that the car my son was purchasing had undergone a thorough "multi point service check", the car required SIGNIFICANT repairs within weeks of him driving off the lot. The damage done to the car because of their inability to properly diagnose and service it before it was purchased cost him thousands of dollars to repair. There really is a difference between Night and Day. My recent trip to Monaco Ford is a great reminder of just that. I drive a 2022 Ford Bronco (4- door convertible), I bought it in another state and needed to have work done on it as the convertible top, was literally falling apart at it's seams. I scoured yelp for the best local Ford dealer to take it to and chose Mitchel Seling Ford as they were the best rated. Finally, when I brought my car in for the repairs, they didn't bother with any of it. My car sat untouched for over a week. Rather steamed, I asked for my car back. And then life happened, things got in the way and almost a year passed. My car's top continued to deteriorate and I got recall notice after notice from Ford. Eventually It was too much, the top was interfering with day-to-day driving and I brought it into Monaco Ford and guess what? They were professionals. Imagine that! They too scheduled me months in advance, but when I did bring my car in for service, EVERYTHING WAS FIXED UNDER MY WARRANTY. It took a week. That's also how long the other Ford dealer had my Bronco and did nothing. In that same time, Monaco fixed EVERYTHING. They were professional. My 2021 Mach e has had issues since initial purchase last year. It all started with the vehicle failing to drive due to an electrical issue involved with the drive train. It took Monaco over 4 hours to have an "emergency" tow pick it up. Once they had the vehicle it sat outside for over a month before they were able to look at it. They said that they had repaired the issue. A month later it had a battery fault on it. Brought it back in and they were unable to see the vehicle for almost another month. But they did tell me it was unsafe to drive. Once the vehicle went in it sat for an additional month and when they were finally able to look at it. They informed me that they couldn't find anything wrong. A month later we received the same alert with the same fault. Took it back in and they said that they were able to fix it after being in the shop for 3 weeks. 2 months later the same issue returned. This time they said they could not look at it for an additional month. I have had enough at this point. Call corporate Ford and they were able to get me into Columbia Ford. Columbia Ford updated software and told me that it should be fixed. 1 month later the vehicle had the same problem again. Took it back to Columbia (after waiting a month). When I took it into Columbia Ford they informed me that the issue stems from Monaco Ford damaging the vehicle and will require Monaco to repair it. Monaco informed me today that they would not be able to work on the vehicle for over a month. This is unacceptable. I understand that with new technology comes new problems. However to have only owned the vehicle for 1 year and it be in the shop for a cumulative 4-5 months of ownership is unsatisfactory. Poor workmanship should make this become a priority and not be "whenever we can get to it". No kidding, that is the answer I got from Monaco Ford on when they would be able to fix it. My truck was in for service under 3rd party warranty. Took 10 days to get approval due to lack of responding to warranty company. Then 10 days to get parts. They had my truck a month to the day. A few months ago I bought a 2022 Ford Bronco from them. This was the 3rd vehicle I've purchased from them, I've also bought a 2020 Ford Escape and a 2016 Ford Focus in the past and each time was an awesome experience. Obtaining the Bronco has been a saga to say the least, between pandemic-related supply chain shortages, to overly complex maze of price protection systems Ford created... the Bronco is something that most buyers reserved in mid-2020 and didn't receive until 1-3 years later. I personally reserved July 2020 and finally picked up the Bronco in Sept 2022. After reading horror stories on the internet about the horrific dealers around the country, I'll admit was worried... but Monaco Ford's sales staff was great. They easily navigated Ford's complex price protection systems and delivered on the promised price. The service department is probably the weak point at the dealership. They frequently run behind schedule, but honestly that's kind of par for the course with most dealerships and automobile repair shops. I also know they are short staffed, but again... there is a nationwide shortage of auto technicians right now, so it's hard to fault them. Thankfully they do have loner vehicles as well as a shuttle service for those who are getting their vehicles worked on, and that reduces a lot of the potential pain. read more

Brought my truck in for tailgate replacement. Went thru parts department and service over the details of buying a new tailgate. Was quoted $1500. Dropped the truck off then was called and told it would cost $3000. For the lacthes amd handles to be added by parts forn$700 and $800 in labor. For a TAILGATE? I purchased two F350 trucks from Monaco. 2017 and 2022. Total of $140,000 with extended warranty I purchased. Brought the 2017 in for repair under warranty. Then was told I would be charged tear down fees. And warranty work "pending" approval for common repair. Dont buy extended warranty. They won't cover repairs honestly. read more

2023 March: This dealership (in Niantic, CT) was previously named Crest Ford. Had gone to Crest Ford for years and been extremely happy with the service department. The dealership was bought out a few years ago and is now Monaco Ford, with a service department that has a completely different (unethical) approach to customers. Part 1: Had taken my car to an independent auto mechanic, who discovered a broken strut and rusted crossbar, and provided an estimated repair of $2400. Part 2: Decided to get a second estimate at Monaco Ford, which estimated a repair cost at $6,000, a charge of $77.00 just to look at the vehicle, and an attempt to try to sell me a new vehicle. I would highly recommend going to this dealership if you are in the market for a car and even considering buying a Ford. You can test drive the car without the fear that you will subjected to high-pressure salesmen. There seems to be a recurring pattern of poor customer service in the repair department I will never go there again. Had an appointment on Monday and they never looked at my car until Friday. I had been to a couple of dealerships in the hopes that someone would be willing to help me get into a car I wished to buy. Out of 5 Ford dealerships in the state I went to they were the only one that went out of their way to make what I wanted and needed happen and were friendly as well as attentive and treated me more like a person than just another sale. They even said my first oil change would be free when I needed it on the new Ford Fusion Sport I bought. Purchased a used low mile vehicle several months ago. Paid top dollar for used. 56k. Has been back for service multiple times, for "recall" work. I asked why they can't do all recalls at once? They said they can't get help. Last visit they backed my vehicle into another, apologized and said " you must let us fix it" by law. My husband brought a new car here in 2016. We had extreme difficulty getting a silly owners manual. Now 2 years later, after he had gotten all his service done here, he cannot get an appointment for a broken fan in defroster/heater for 1 month. December 11 is the next available appointment. This is the colder part of the season starting and no defroster or heat. One month is absolutely not acceptable to wait. I really like coming to Monaco despite the fact that they are more expensive and farther away from Tasca. That's because I know Monaco will do a good, honest job and treat me with respect. Many dealerships will treat me like I know nothing about cars or driving because they see me as some naïve girl (ie Tasca). Highly recommend them. I brought my Ford Escape in because the check engine light had been coming on and off. I had run the codes by myself and saw that there were codes for a coolant bypass valve. I take my car in, and the woman (Megan) tells me that I need a catalytic converters as well as the valve. I tell her I cannot afford to do both at this time, let's fix the valve please. I pick up my car and everything is fine. The next day, the check engine light comes back on. Now, not only are the coolant bypass codes back but there are several other electrical codes. I call back and the woman tells me that the code for the bypass valve will not go off unless I fix the cat. THE VALVE WAS UNPLUGGED. I don't know if this was done purposely or negligently, either way, not cool. The women were giving me attitude when I said I couldn't afford to do the cat the same day. Terrible experience. Went to look at a used vehicle . It was absolutely filthy . Dog and cat hair everywhere on seats. Dust and dirt on dashboard. You would think with Covid they would make some attempt to clean a vehicle that they are actively advertising online. The person knew minimal about the vehicle I actually had to refer to the online pictures to have them show me options that were advertised with the vehicle. Then they said the price was the price. No negotiation or offer. Maybe if you bothered to make the vehicle look worth 38-40,000 but no thanks . Absolutely the worst experience I've had looking for a vehicle. read more

The sales department is fantastic! They are very laid back and hassle free. They really listen to your needs and go above and beyond to accommodate. However if your looking to get your vehicle serviced definitely go else where. I have an encyclopedia of repairs done on the same handful of things because they can't seem to get it right the first time, or they tell you that your A/C should blow 60 degrees out of the vent, or just any excuse to not have to do warrantied work. I eventually did get the stuff repaired but it was a fight. I've actually had to show so much teeth to get my car fixed that they no longer feel comfortable working on my car and the feeling is mutual. Luckily my warranty allows me to use a Ford with a better service department. So I gave them 3 stars because I would definitely buy a car from them again but I would never go there for service. read more

I knew exactly which car I wanted and they helped me get financing and a reasonable trade in for my car. They were accommodating and worked around my schedule even when the delivery time was moved up 2 hours. The car was nicely detailed with a full tank of gas. Was in Glastonbury for a Dr's appointment and needed to charge my Ford Focus Electric to be able to make it home. I usually charge at the charging stations on the green in town, but they were both occupied. I called Monaco in hopes that they would help me out so I could make it home. No such luck. They were rude and told me sorry, only plug in electrics that are in for service can use our charging station. Nice Customer Service Monaco! Instead of having someone who will tout how friendly and helpful you were, you now have the opposite. If you want to be treated poorly by a dealership that has zero interest in helping someone in need out, go to Monaco Ford! What makes this really amusing is their slogan is "Where Our Customers become Our Friends". If you behave like this with everyone, you're not going to have customers or friends for long. read more

I love this dealership for a variety of reasons. For as large as it is, you still feel the small family business vibe (a lost luxury these days). I came all the way from NYC to meet with them after reaching out for help with a particular model. In short, everyone from the sales associate to the service dept were very well-informed and friendly. I brought my truck in for a issue with the rear defrost and a noise in the front end. I was notified quickly and efficiently about what repairs were necessary to resolve my issue. The service advisor pat was very pleasant and super knowledgeable! He was very good at his job. My truck was fixed in a timely manor and all seemed well. I then did a oil change on my truck and checked there work, my right front cv axle was ripped and my vacuum lines were dangling, i notified them and pat got me right back in for repair. They then put a new axle in and secured ONLY my right side vacuum line, they left the left side dangling. So now i jacked the truck up and engaged 4 wheel drive, they used the wrong style ziptie and collapsed my rt side vacuum line so 4 wheel drive stayed engaged on the right front. So now im not bringing it back there for a third time for issues there tech created. I only bring it there because it is under warranty, im a master certified tech and after 3 Ford dealers failing to repair my truck for a simple entry level tech repair im done. Ill fix it myself after wasting 2k on a warranty. I expressed my concern twice and no call from the manager, thanks monaco job well done. But all in all i want to emphasize that the service advisor pat did his best to help me. read more
