I got my couch cushions dry cleaned to eliminate my ex roomie's pet hair. I got my order back and went home thinking that all was well. Unfortunately, this zipper was destroyed by the machinery. I know that the person who did it was aware of what happened because all of the other zippers were zipped closed. This was a new couch without zipper imperfections. Writing a post to sincerely thank Miss Kim and the Magic she worked on this dress. I purchased this dress online and it came in as a size 14 - I am a size 6... total panic. With only a few weeks to go until the big wedding day and a terrible experience with the dress company - I was forced to take this dress to a seamstress to see what could be done. I walked into Monarch Cleaners from a referral from a friend. Miss Kim took on a huge task by taking this dress on. It was not an easy task as there were no easy seams to help tug and hide the layers of excess fabric. Here I am (on the wedding day) getting compliments left and right. My first time using this cleaners. I dropped off my coat. When I came to pick it up I was informed they only accept cash or Zelle transfer from your bank. Nowhere in that store there are any sings that it's cash only. Now it means that you don't want to show your income to IRS fully but it's messed up otherwise I would have used other cleaners service. Apparently you supposed to research online on how to pay prior to your visit. read more

Asked the guy his price per shirt. He looked me over, looked down, debated...what dry cleaner doesn't immediately know the answer to that question?!?! One who wants to charge a sliding scale based on his customer's perceived income. At least that's how it comes off. Well, $5/shirt is just not worth it. Not when I usually pay $2.75 including pickup and delivery. But today I'm in a pinch and needed them back faster than my usual service. I left and walked down the street. I've been to this cleaner multiple times for multiple alterations. It's run by a Korean couple who are very nice, and who always shoot straight with you (IE they don't fuck around when it comes to pickup days ect). The work has always been excellent, but the reason I'm rating it 4 stars is that the price isn't great. $25 bucks for a sleeve alteration isn't bad, but in Jersey it was much cheaper. I get that NYC will have higher prices, but it's a small annoyance that the price is doubled. Also, cash ONLY. read more

A sweet Asian lady does the tailoring here and is so helpful and great at what she does. I came in with a pair of Sevens that needed to be taken up and a dress that needed to be taken in. I'm very particular about hemming on my nicer jeans. She did a great job, reattaching the original hem so you couldn't tell they had been adjusted at all. The dress had a complicated pattern of sequins that almost needed to be hand stitched or it would have fallen apart. She found a way to work around this, and made it fit me like a glove. Both items cost me only $30 together. A bargain price from any quote you'd receive just a bit further downtown. read more

I have been to this dry cleaners many times previously with a okay results. However, the last time I went, I had forgotten some items in my coat pocket including a $300 accessory. When I called to see if they could save them, they had already gone through the dry cleaner procedure and my valuable had been destroyed. I was extremely upset as I generally consider it common practice to look in customers pockets before proceeding with any kind of cleaning. Secondly, when I called, I was yelled at and told it was my fault. They also refused to do anything about it. I am extremely angry at the customer service I received and their inability to apologize or wave the charges for the cleaning. I will never return to this dry cleaner for their mediocre cleaning and terrible customer service. read more
