I hadn't been to a dentist in 10 years until I broke a tooth. This place fixed it and found other issues. I got the money together and went back asking to take care of things in a specific order (based on my funds and another treatment plan). But instead, Holly Schmitt, the office manager, refused all treatment, refused a refund for pre-paid services they did NOT perform and the cops were called on me while I was in my vehicle. Even the officer was confused and said I had every right to be in a public parking lot. Holly also lied multiple times about what the dentist said, telling me, "Doctor's orders and priority." She wasn't happy when I said that's not what the doctor told me. Dr. said, "It's your money, it's your mouth, we can do what you want." The cherry on top, I finally found and sent an email to 'corporate'. Few days later, Holly sent me a "Release of all Claims" form with a built in non-disclosure/confidentiality agreement. Asking me to give up my rights in order to receive a refund on services you didn't provide, is shady at best. Thank god this is not normal and the other dental offices I've been to have even asked; why weren't you allowed to make decisions for yourself, who are these people, what office is this, and are telling all their colleagues. I've had 3 appointments in 3 weeks with a different doctor, in the exact order I wanted treatment done with 0 complications. Save yourself the trouble, and go somewhere else! read more

Nearly a year ago, I entrusted Monarch Dental with extracting all of my teeth and providing dentures. Since that procedure, I have experienced ongoing problems because the dentures do not fit properly. They are uncomfortable, unstable, and make it extremely difficult for me to eat and live comfortably. I have repeatedly raised these concerns, yet I am now being told that the problem is my fault and that no correction will be made. I strongly disagree. I paid a significant amount of money for professional dental services, and I expect the work to be done correctly. Properly fitting dentures are not optional -- they are essential to my health and quality of life. As an older patient, this experience has been both physically and financially burdensome. I believe I deserve accountability and a reasonable effort to correct this issue. I am formally requesting that this matter be reviewed and resolved promptly. They are a chain denestey. Not personal. Most All the staff is rude to the extreme. Manager is the worst & when she can't deal with daily situations, she will even resort to yelling at you! Watch out for overcharging at Monarch Dental! Do you know how dental insurance works? I'm not an expert and you should always consult you insurance representative, but if your dentist "accepts" your insurance, but isn't contracted with the insurance company, they may be able to charge you the difference between the amount billed and what your insurance paid. But if your dentist is CONTRACTED with your insurance company, your dentist has agreed to accept the amount payed by the insurance company and you are obligated to pay ONLY the amount dictated by the contract. ALWAYS check your EOB - Explanation of Benefits. It will tell you what the dental office billed for each service, what the plan pays, and what the patient pays, if anything. Do you use Monarch Dental in Burleson? Pardon the long story. . . I had work done in November 2022. The person at the desk said they had checked my insurance and that I would owe over $400 which they collected. In January, I checked my EOB and found that first of the three services was paid, but the second was denied because the office failed to include the tooth number in the claim - just dumb! That, apparently, caused the insurance company to also deny the third service. The "Patient owes" column was only about $50. The dental office was instructed to submit a corrected claim, but they didn't bother. I stopped by in January and they said they would get a refund out for the overpayment. I stopped by in April to find out what was going on. The lady at the desk told me that the extra money charged was because my insurance didn't cover everything and it was my responsibility. I told there that she was wrong, they needed to file a corrected claim, and I wanted my money back. She said she'd take care of it. I went back in June after not hearing anything. I even called my insurance company while there and put the lady on the phone with them. A few weeks later, I checked with my insurance company and although the lady had promised to file the corrected claim, nothing had been received. I went back in July and the lady told me she was just too busy. I reminded her that it was now more than 7 months and told her I wanted my refund. She said she would address it. In August, I finally received a corrected EOB. Even with all three services, they still owed me close to $300. I went back at the very end of the month and demanded what I was owed. She said she didn't understand why I was always angry. (smh) I reminded her than they had the use of my money for over 9 months. She said it would still take another two weeks for the payment. She called me yesterday and said the refund was approved, but it would take another 2 or 3 weeks for their headquarters to send me a check. Are you a Monarch Dental patient? Are you confident that you haven't been overcharged? In my case, if I hadn't noticed, it's clear that they would simply have kept the money they overcharged me. I strongly urge anyone who is a patient of Monarch to double check past EOBs. It may be that Monarch owes you money. . . perhaps even a lot of money! read more

I have been a patient with Monarch for several years. I'm a type 1 diabetic for 51 years. During those years and times when I did my cleaning I never had to do a cleaning every 3 months. 2 years ago I had a knee replacement , every time I had my appointment at Monarch for a cleaning, the dental hygienist wants me to take antibiotics. I ask her why? Her response was , I had a knee replacement and my dr told me to take antibiotics for a cleaning.. Ok , that's your Dr not mine . !! I ask my diabetic doctor and he ask me, why is she making you take antibiotics ? Your A1C is perfect . The Dr can't figure out why? So , I ask my Orthopedic doctor and he ask the same question. Why? I ask other friends and people that had their knee replacement and diabetes and they told me , that their dental hygienist or dentist never makes them take antibiotics. So why do I have to? I feel hurt and been treated differently because of my diabetes. I went to the other Monarch and they have never ever tell me to take antibiotics . This place has horrible customer service! I have been trying to get into the Periodontist since October ... I have spoken with Laura who had us change our insurance, Crystal who never sent the pre authorization to our insurance, Christy who ensured me that she would take care of everything. Savannah who is the gate keeper and always promises to have Christy call me back but she never does and is alway out to lunch when I call. Now today I talk to Summer who advised me that because I changed insurance companies I would now have to come out of pocket double!! While the staff that has worked on me have been great. I believe it is poor business practice to show a patient paperwork showing "this is what the services cost and how much you will pay and this is how much insurance will pay, sign here if you want to continue with the services". Then months later send a bill to collect what the insurance didn't want to pay after I've already paid my large share. That wasn't explained at the time of the services nor payment. I have been a patient here for years. Recently my hygienist quit, so they had to reschedule me. However, the soonest they could see me is MAY of next year. This is all backwards Monarch. My appt was for this month, September. You should be more concerned about rescheduling your existing patients, rather than fitting in new patients. I went to Monarch dental in Burleson back in December. For my 6 month routine cleaning, I was a new patient to them. I was scheduled in within two weeks. Day of my appt I show up early to fill out new patient paperwork. Was called in within 25 min for X-rays and be seated to see the dentist. It was a very long wait to say the least, finally the dentist came in, looked at my X-rays. Teeth. And instructed on what "type" of cleaning I needed and stepped out. Again I waited and waited and waited. They only have ONE dental hygienist that actually does the cleanings. And she decided to take lunch I was there for 3 and a half hours before I was done. Then I was scheduled to come back for my fillings. They gave me a quote. But when I came back now January for the fillings the price was different a lot higher and couldn't be explained what my insurance was covering that made my part so high. I got the work done anyway and it was a horrible experience. Beyond numb and the next day when it wore off my bite was off. Went back to get it fixed by another dentist. Who was a bit more pleasant. Tried to schedule the other fillings with him but I was told each dentist needs to give you a quote so I'd have to go in for a consult again and the work that needs to be done might be different and so would my quote. What!!! Made no sense. Haven't gone back. My son moved from out of state scheduled there for his cleaning. His experience was a definite never going back. Don't go here. He's double insured but they refused to bill secondary insurance. Too much work. He was there for 2 hours and still no estimate on when the hygienist would be in to do the actual cleaning. He had to leave. His appt for his cleaning was useless didn't happen. And was offered an appt in April for the actual cleaning. Wow. Never again. read more

While I have found the care at the dental office to be fine, the main office has owed me money for months! My insurance denied part of my claim, over $600. I paid the amount owed, then fought the issue with first the insurance, then a claim review board. My local office staff was very helpful, and I'm grateful for that. I won, but it doesn't feel like it. The main accounting office refuses to reimburse me! In fact, they just absorbed the payment without ever showing a credit on my account! Wow! I had low expectations going in as a "chain" dentist. Staff was wonderful, Dr was very nice and educational, my hygienist was super sweet and the whole team was very real, honest and not pushy at all. Let's be honest...who really enjoys going to the dentist? It's right up there between a colonoscopy and an IRS audit on my fun-o-meter. However, the staff a Monarch Dental in Burleson did a great job of making my experience as good as possible. Sharon and Dr. Ormeni we're fantastic and I would recommend them to anyone. I am a huge whimp when it comes to needles and pain, but Dr. Ormeni did such a fantastic job of numbing my gums as gently as possible and helping me to stay calm and relaxed the entire time. I hate this place with a fiery passion. It's constantly backed up so you have to wait forever, one of the receptionists has an extremely bad attitude, and I refuse to come here after today, except to let my oldest finish her ortho treatment since she is almost done. My youngest needs braces, and we will be going somewhere else for those. The doctors have always been nice, but the overall process of being a patient here is an absolute beating. I was pleasantly surprised about my visit to Monarch Dental in Burleson. Especially after seeing negative reviews about this company in general. The Burleson office was great. The staff was friendly and my wait in the waiting room was only about 10 minutes. They took me back and took 18 xrays of my mouth, more than I've had in my life! Then I was taken to the back and seated in an exam chair. There was a bit of a wait but the assistant kept coming in to check to see that I was OK and comfortable. Then a dental hygienist came to check my gums and finally the dentist did my exam. Dr. Mitchell was very friendly and explained everything to me as she completed the exam and answered all my questions. The price I was quoted for the work I needed was very reasonable and the exam and all the xrays were free with my insurance. They did some of the work there on the spot and I have a follow up appointment. I am not a fan of going to the dentist but the people at Monarch made it as pleasant of an experience at possible. read more

I found it very interesting and alarming to see the tactics that the staff used to try to upsell me from a standard teeth cleaning to a $3600 deep cleaning as if I was buying a two dollar toothbrush. After checking my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance I found at Monarch Dental was a participant in the plan. I verified this as I made my appointment and filled out my paperwork online to include checking the releases for x-rays, standard teeth cleaning and so on. There was no copay due to my plans criteria. I was a little alarmed when I arrived and was asked to pay $60. I asked for them to check that because I had just read my plan's info the day before. not wanting to be the jerk at the counter I respectfully paid the $60. The second thing that caught my attention was that the receptionist removed one of the several sheets of information that I had pre-filled at home and asked that I not check the teeth cleaning box on the new form that she handed to me. The x-ray tech was professional and I was sent off to the dental chair. The first thing handed to me was a brochure explaining teeth cleaning and the perils of gum disease and recessing gums. I was well aware of this issue as I had been subject to a $3600 deep cleaning of my gum tissue several years prior while I had some great dental insurance. I did not think much of the brochure until a tech came in to check for gum recession. She presented her case for why gum recession can be very dangerous and so she would be checking each tooth inside and out for measurements of recession. I was well educated on the process so I did not respond. In less than 60 seconds she "checked the gum recession of all of my teeth, inside and out, And dictated the numbers to an assistant in a manner so quickly it would make your head spin. She then began her spiel as to why it would be necessary to have a process known as a deep cleaning performed. She stepped out to bring in the "salesperson" who arrived with the authorization form that I had signed early for a standard cleaning but asked that I initial the deep cleaning box. (If you remember the receptionist had thrown out the one that I had signed and asked that I fill it out without the standard cleaning box checked I nearly pooped my pants knowing that this well choreographed, rehearsed, and intimidating ruse was trying to rob my future of a large sum of money. I respectfully asked how much the process would cost to which she responded "oh don't worry about that we can set you up on a payment plan" I explain that I would like to know the exact figure before I simply initialed an authorization box. It was absolutely unbelievable how they were strategically planning to surprise me after the deep cleaning of its cost! She excused herself and came back within minutes to explain that the fee would be $3600 and change. I explained that I was in no financial position to subscribe to such an expensive procedure and that I merely wanted a standard teeth cleaning to brighten my teeth. She then step back and jot it down a few figures and explained that due to the fact that my insurance would not cover it she could offer me the procedure for $2800... A 25% savings. Mind you... This is a one hour procedure... absolute ridiculousness. I respectfully declined and for a third time requested a standard cleaning. The sales person excused herself and moments "The Dentist" arrived for step three of this Twilight Zone like "used car salesman" approach to robbing me and intimidating me into what I felt was an unnecessary procedure. When I explained to him that I have already completed a deep cleaning procedure and would simply like a standard plaque removal teeth cleaning he refused on the basis that Monarch Dental would not be able to do that due to the gum recession. I will warn all potential Monarch Dental customers that this little scheme has probably worked on thousands of unsuspecting customers. Their methods screamed of dishonesty and well rehearsed scheming. They know it and I know it. It makes me sick to my stomach. You should be ashamed of yourselves Burleson Texas Monarch Dental. It must've been a financially challenging time for Monarch Burleson Texas....or maybe just how they do business everyday. This happened in 2019. read more

This was my first and last visit to Monarch dental. When I called to make the appointment I explained I was in severe pain and needed to come in. She put me on hold several times, and seemed very confused by my request to make an appointment. I went in the next morning for an 8am appointment, the floors were filthy, clumps if dust and hair under all the chairs. So as I looked around I noticed nothing looked dusted or clean. It took about 35 minutes for them to call me back after explaining I was in extreme pain and my face was swelling. The X-ray technician acted confused by her job, kept messing up my X-rays, dropping the mouth piece on the floor and having to clean it and start again. She did multiple X-rays which is expected but after the 26th X-ray I started to get upset. Explaining I was in a lot of pain and she argued saying the X-rays were needed. Never mind she kept doing them wrong as it showed up on her computer screen to be a blank or blurry picture . I finally had enough and asked to stop when she said they wouldn't see me without finishing the X-rays. I finally get to the chair. Where the equipment didn't look clean or have any protective covers on as I've seen in most dental offices. The dentist was at least very friendly and talked with me about treatment. Offered me an antibiotic and to make a plan for treatment. I asked if I could come back when I had more money with me and from experience needed the infection to go down before they began work. He agreed but the front office lady did not. She insisted I get treatment today and get collect $400. I told her my insurance situation and I would soon have insurance she argued saying I wasn't going to have insurance when I thought, she knew all about employers and insurance . I just needed an antibiotic to help the pain so I could come back and she was so rude about everything. 2 days later I called to ask if I could get a stronger antibiotic and after being on hold 10 minutes she told me in a very hateful tone told me the doctor was gone and if I felt that bad to go to the er. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here and will not be back. read more

BEWARE. I have no cavities. I have no pain. Tried to get a simple routine exam with cleaning. However, after viewing the x-rays (the x-ray technician was nice) and finding no problems, Dr. Murray demands to remove all my crowns anyways to, you know, "EXPLORE and clean underneath them then put in all new crowns." (All my crowns are brand new.) He said this thousands of dollars must be done and then and only then they "just MIGHT find time to clean my teeth." Even though I also sat in the chair 90 minutes alone and bored to death. But cleaning my teeth is a "big maybe" because they are "just too busy to do that." I must schedule all these appointments for crowns first. But golly, he just wants to "explore" and re-do my entire cavity-free mouth. He also said he "just may give me some root canals too - for my benefit - so in the future I will not feel any pain, because one day, I just might get a cavity and they just hurt from out of nowhere". Then he shakes my hand with a smile and says "I'm working for YOU." Used car salesman with a smile. Huge fake quack. He uses a different worker to show and go over the list of fees and so-called dental problems with you. However, this person going over the long list of "treatment fees" has no idea you have no cavities, then they try to schedule you in to do the work. I told her I had no cavities and only needed a cleaning. Her jaw dropped. We both pointed to this fake list together and wondered what he was doing. He must be desperate to pay off his dental schooling? Conclusion: No. Not a happy customer. read more

Ok so I usually don't do this but I went into Monarch about 4 years ago. I hadn't been to a dentist in a while. Got my teeth cleaned and had a root canal done. To this day that tooth still hurts me and they swear it shouldn't. Then a couple of years later decided to get parcials. My insurance wasn't that good so I had to pay around 2 thousand they talked me into the plastic instead of metal well long story short can't wear them and tried to get them to help me and do the metal ones. Of course in order to get some that I can wear I have to pay another 2000 I just feel like I totally got screwed. Tried talking to many different people no one wanted to help me. So now I have these partials that sit in a container that I paid all that money for that I cant wear and cant afford to get more. Thank you monarch for all your help read more
