The sheetrock ceiling openings were cut very poorly and irregularly, and all of the removed drywall pieces were discarded. This has made the patching and repair work significantly more difficult and costly than necessary, see attached photo. A professional plumber would normally: Cut clean, standard-shaped openings (for example, rectangular sections such as approximately 1 ft × 2 ft), Minimize unnecessary damage to surrounding materials, and Keep the removed drywall pieces near the work area so they can be reused or referenced during patching. I raised these concerns with the plumber, but instead of correcting the issue, I was told that I would need to pay an additional fee to address the patching challenges caused by the original work. I do not believe it is reasonable for me to bear extra costs resulting from workmanship issues that could and should have been avoided with proper professional practices.

My kitchen sink was clogged for about 1 week since having a 75ft snake through a promotional…read moreplumbing service (not disclosing what company lol) did not work (it had stopped maybe 50ft in and while being retracted, lots of black sludge flew out). During that time, I had broken some copper fitting pipe parts underneath the sink so I did not put them back together to make sure it worked. Luckily, things happened for a reason so I bought new hard plastic pipes to replace everything but water was still slowly flowing out of my dual kitchen sink. I remembered the person who did the snake mentioned it might be time to get a new mainline pipe which meant breaking the walls and slab since I don't have a crawl space equating to 15-20K or an epoxy pipe lining to make it good as new again for 8K; I have no money for any of that so I googled "best ways to unclog a kitchen sink if 75ft snake fails" and was recommended hydro-jetting from AI. I then searched hydro-jetting Livermore and was recommended Diablo Hydro-Jetting immediately on my mobile phone where I was able to view both their website and Yelp reviews before calling 925-277-0200 on a Sunday evening. Fortunately, Jeff answered my call even while eating dinner who reassured me that he was 100% sure that my kitchen sink can be unclogged since they can blast it up to 500ft and if there were to be any complications that the competitive pricing comes with the drain inspection camera as needed. I truly appreciate Jeff's Team; Jose and Alex for taking on this difficult task. Jose was hydro-jetting my kitchen sink while communicating with Alex who was controlling the unit by the van. Initially, Jose and I feared that the black sludge would appear since pushing water with water and it was in fact what had happened where it was caught in a big metal container underneath the kitchen sink. Jose immediate told Alex to turn off the unit and requested to get the portable compact hydro-jet vac to clean out the container before resetting then restarting a 2nd time from the top with the vac on to catch everything as it goes. Then with some luck, we were able to hear the water flowing after it was unclogged, the sound of success! Jose then proceeded to check my cleanout area which was located outside of my house, opened it and made sure that the same sound we heard in the kitchen was heard there as well. And to ensure that my kitchen pipes were clean, Jose went ahead and did the hydro-jetting a couple more times just in case and even had Alex bring cleaning solutions to help wipe away some black sludge that flew to the side of the cabinet wall. The whole process took about 1hr and the invoice has a limited 90day service warranty guaranteeing against future clogs from reoccurring. This was the best investment I made highly recommended and I am very grateful for Jeff, Jose and Alex; they never upsold me anything and they truly are professionals in the field strictly hydro-jetting and nothing else, established in 1994 with over 32yrs of experience! Thank you once again Jeff from Gordon, my kitchen sink is flowing like Jeff Gordon the NASCAR champ!

The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

On the first visit, the technician, Mohammed, didn't even inspect the system. He simply told us that older units are noisy and that our only options were to live with it or replace the entire system. Because the problem continued, our home warranty company scheduled a second visit. I specifically requested a different technician, but they sent the same person back. I tried calling their supervisor to come out or send someone else but they kept dodging my call. When I answered the door and explained the issue was still happening, he just shrugged his shoulders. I had to insist that he actually go into the attic and inspect the unit this time. After a short time, he came back down and said he had "tried everything" but never explained what he checked or what the actual problem was. Again, I was told the only options were to replace the system or live with the noise. I also never received any written work order explaining the diagnosis or repairs that were supposedly attempted. Not feeling confident, I hired another HVAC company for a second opinion. Within minutes, they diagnosed the real problem as a failing blower motor, explained everything clearly, and gave me the option to replace the motor instead of the entire HVAC system. The repair was completed that same week, and the vibration was completely resolved. I understand a 21-year-old system won't last forever, but every homeowner deserves a thorough inspection, a clear explanation of the issue, and repair options when they're available. Unfortunately, that wasn't the experience I had with Same Day Air.

He found (what he thought at the time) was the issue, got the parts, and repaired it in 4 hours. We thought everything was good and paid $375 for the repair. We ran the washer later that night and found there was still an issue. We reached back out and he said he'd come back the next day after his other jobs. Communication started lagging here. He initially told us he'd come between 4-6, but didn't say anything til 6:30. Came ~7pm and worked on the washer again. About 1.5 hours later, found another issue and said he'd come back Monday. On Monday, I reached back out and he wasn't super responsive. Heard back that he was at the store getting the part and that's the last we heard from him. We've reached out several times via text, Yelp, and phone call. We've left multiple messages and he's completely ghosted us. I should've done more digging into his past bad reviews, because this is consistent with those. I recommend finding someone else. It's not worth the chance of not getting your appliance fixed AND being out money. We could've just bought a new washer at this point.

I have tried calling and reaching out to them over messages, the phone number listed is always switched off and they never reply back. The last thing as a customer you would want is pay these guys and wait for a part and they vanish completely. It's been over 3 weeks and I still have no communication from them. Very unprofessional. Would proceed with a diff service technician at this point as the job could be easily done in 3-4 days turn around time. Sorry ! Update 2: Based on the review feedback from Mark, if there is any delay in parts order, I think it is basic sense to inform the Home warranty company (who gave the service technician vendor the job) as well as the customer with a more accurate timeline. During the time of charging the service fee for diagnostics, it was mentioned the part should be delivered in less than a week. If this was completely off, an immediate timely update would be appreciated. Last, I am not sure how a business runs when they are not reachable on the phone ever, nor any correspondence through messages. Sorry! That's not at all an average customer experience, let aside a good experience.

I made a yelp account just to write this review. That is how good monarch plumbing is! Got an old shower cartridge that finally broke after more than a decade of use. I made appointments with 3 companies, all of which did not even show....and wasn't responsive by phone. I was able to get estimates with several yelp plumbing companies and some of the estimates were just ridiculous (ranging from $450 to $950). I did some online search for shower valve repair jobs and the average for the area is only around $200..... Some of them even suggested making a hole into the wall to swap out the valve when all they have to do is swap the cartridge out..... super shady Made an appointment with Monarch plumbing on Sunday and Roberto got here ON TIME the next day. He is super friendly and honest. He knew exactly what he was doing and got the job done in 1 hr. And I spent only $135 for the whole thing....WOW....And they have a warranty for 4 months in case of future leaks. I will definitely be using Monarch Plumbing from now on. Monarch Plumbing has the best service and the best plumbers. They came out on a Saturday looked at what needed to be done and did 2 units in one day. Roberto and his helping were very friendly and explained in detail what they would do. He did exactly what he said he would do and kept to the schedule for returning with the toilets and other items needing to be fixed. He also kept me informed on timing sense I don't live there. That was a huge plus, everything went so smooth and Jose the owner don't price gauge his customer. I also found it very touching that this company hires persons with disabilities. Monarch did a great job redoing my sewer lateral to meet compliance in Oakland. They did a free inspection, and did the work for a reasonable price (I compared with 2 other companies). It took a while to get the permits, but once they had them, they sent a team of 5 very efficient people to my property and had the job done by the end of day. Miguel and his crew did an excellent job of replacing my drain pipes. I've used Monarch for replacing my gas and , water pipes also and the results were excellent. They responded to my calls promptly and all the jobs were done the same week I called and in one day! They also cleaned everything and sent pictures of the old pipes to show how rotten they had gotten. These folks work hard when they're at your house, I was impressed so much I've used them 3 times! Tony and Cruz came out to repair a clogged-up sewer line. Very professional and explained what they were doing and why. They completed the job and got the problem solved. Explained to us what we could do in the future to prevent the roots that caused the clog from coming back. Don't know if you can request certain workers to come to your site, definitely would ask for these guys again! Oh, and my dad is a 98-year-old veteran and they gave him a discount for his service!!! read more

I had Tony came to my house for a shower low hot water pressure issue. I had few other technician came over and the issue persisted. Tony went through few steps and found culprit quickly and fixed it right away. He also showed me and explained like a professor the face cause and root cause and all the options fixing it. I had a nasty clog backing things up and what turned out to be a small leak in one of my pipes. After a mild panic session, I called Star Rooter in Hayward. From the start, they were friendly and easy to talk to, which honestly helped calm me down. They came out, assessed everything, and let me know my line needed to be snaked. They explained what they were doing, didn't make me feel clueless, and got straight to work. The clog was cleared, and they were also able to fix the leak in my pipes the same visit. Huge relief. Now, plumbing work is not cheap -- and nobody is excited to pay for it -- but they got the job done efficiently and professionally. I'd rather pay once and have it handled correctly than deal with repeat issues. They mentioned there's a 10% discount if you say you found them on Yelp. I'm not 100% sure if it was applied to my final bill, but it's worth asking about when you call. Overall, solid experience.
