This is an absolute AMAZING place to eat! The service was great, very friendly and efficient! I had there buffalo burger and a chocolate milkshake and it was incredible! Easily the best resturaunt located in beautiful marblemount Washington. The last services for 74 miles, you would be wise to pick mondos for a big meal before heading over the pass or after a long day of hiking. Huge servings and awesome local owners and staff. They have an awesome bleu burger I like to get for dinner, but if you get a chance to come check out their breakfast and try their amazing sweet cream pancakes absolute perfection. WARNING: DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT! My wife ordered a vegetarian "impossible meat" mushroom burger & ended up with a ground beef burger. She was informed by the wait staff, after finishing the meal, that she'd just injested meat for the first time in 35 years. After excusing herself to empty her stomach at our hotel room down the road, I was asked by a separate wait staff what she would like to eat instead. I responded nothing; just the bill. I was then charged for the non-vegetarian burger that was rejected. Unable to explain to the wait staff (language barrier). Hoping I don't fall ill to food poisoning myself now. Wow this food is fantastic. I loved the half smoked chicken - delicious! The sides - beans, coleslaw and corn bread were all spot on, especially the cornbread. I was VERY surprised by this place. We needed a place to eat breakfast in this tiny town. I saw that Mondo served Korean food and I wasn't wanting Korean food for breakfast (in spite of the great reviews). Well, the place I went turned out to be closed, so over to Mondo I went for breakfast. Let me tell you, it was the bomb!! The service was excellent. The place is immaculate. My friends and I had just finished a night of camping up in the mountains. We are vegetarians and we were worried about our options in a small mountain town. I am happy to report that they have 3 different kinds of vegetarian burgers so we got all 3 and they were all delectable! After a long, sweaty hike in the North Cascades, nothing satiates quite like a noodle dish from Mondo. Craving something salty and liquidy, I had their ramen. While not the best ramen I've had, it certainly ranks as the best I've had east of Issaquah. :) It really did hit the spot after several days of freeze-dried backpacking food in the cold. I've also had their yakisoba with tofu, which could compete with those I've had in Seattle. The tofu was fresh, and the noodles had just the right amount of sauce and slight greasiness. This place has lots of options for vegetarians and, well, for everyone! read more

Stopped by in late July for a quick lunch before heading into the North Cascades. While the food was average (and the portions large), I felt like I was in a restaurant from a horror movie. Maybe it was the fact that we were the only people in there at peak lunch hours but I sure wasn't upset to leave! I still think about this place... We came into town late on our bike tour, the other restaurant in town was supposed to close in twenty minutes, and they said absolutely not. So despite not liking the name, we went in and it was lovely. The two people running it were Korean maybe, they were great! Super friendly, welcomed us in, and said we could stay as long as we like. We were surprised and delighted with our trip to Mondo's. After a day of hiking through the north Cascades, we stumbled upon this place. My boyfriend LOVES Asian food so we were so excited to find it on the menu (it can be hard to find really good Asian food in central Washington). I ordered a veggie burger. Service was great - prompt, casual, very attentive. My boyfriend loooved his Teriyaki chicken and ate every bite. My black bean burger was well made, and had a generous serving of fries on the side. Horrible. One hour waiting without food. Saturday night after a hike, saw this restaurant got 4+stars on yelp so went in for a bite. This place is clearly understaffed. Waited 5minutes to get seated. Another 5minutes to see the menu. Their menu was big, that justifies the only star I give. There were about 10tables in total, about half waiting for food. Two tables came after us, ate. In the end, 40minutes waited for their fried chicken. 40 minutes no one came explain anything or fill our water. Sad sad situation when you came in with high hope and an empty stomach. One hour later, the hunger drills in and the pain makes you can't eat anything. I guess I'm not a regular here so they don't care? read more

Just got back from Mondo Restaurant! Legitimately good food. I ordered the Bulgogi Bowl, and there was a very solid selection of beers (and 3 kinds of cider). Check it out if you are in town for whatever reason. Even if Marshall tells you he'll give you 10% off if you are staying at Buffalo Run Inn, it's worth paying the full price at Mondo and taking home a bunch of left overs to put in your fridge! This is a popular place with local hikers and campers since it's close to many popular trails and campgrounds nearby. The menu is extensive with many varieties to choose from (anything from burgers, and sandwiches to roast chicken or ramen. Not a great place if you have food restrictions, like gluten free or vegan. The food comes out really fast, which is great when you're starving after a day of hiking. The quality of food is good and tasty. I don't expect 5star restaurants quality given the location and options in the area. read more

It is so difficult for me to eat out. I'm allergic to onions and my husband is gluten intolerant. No matter where we go, one of us gets sick. It is such a treat to have a treasure like Mondo's. Su spends time on our orders making sure she gets everything right for Sam to cook. Sam makes sure to cater to our weird eating rules. My husband could live on just the teriyaki, beef chicken, pork or tofu. I love the burgers which are huge and juicy. You can even order Buffalo or elk burgers! I'm also very fond of the yakisoba stir fry with delicious egg rolls. With most meals coming with a nice garden salad, we never leave hungry. Usually I can find a new craft beer, cider or wine to enjoy while eating. Thanks for taking the time to make us food we can actually enjoy. We've just moved to the area and we've eaten at Mondo's at least 10 times. So, I guess we really love it. Its really novel to have a place that serves Korean food where we are in the middle of nowhere! I don't have to go to the big city to get my bulgogi fix!
