Really solid asian and american food. When you see bulgogi and bison burger on the same menu it sounds disastrous, this place pulls it off....and does it well. It's a great place to stop post hike or if spending the weekend. Do not miss the home made gyoza or fantastic bulgogi with amazing teriyaki. Service was lovely and their wine selection was great. I went to Mando with a large group and we had a great experience. The service was friendly and fast--even with a group of 11 people. The food was tasty, there were great options for vegetarians, and the portions were generous. I had the yakisoba and was very happy with my order. Some friends and I had a delicious meal here after a long bike ride that ended in Marblemount. The food was delicious and the service was as friendly as it gets. I highly recommend the yakisoba, which is better than any I have had in Seattle or San Francisco. The burgers looked great too. I'll be back. It might even be worth a field trip! read more

After a long hike in the North Cascades we decided to drive out and treat ourselves to a cooked meal (rather than cooking at our campsite). We initially stopped next door at the Buffalo inn restaurant, with meals costing $20+ with no menu substitutions, we said no way and went to Mondo instead. Thank goodness we did! I had the Mondo Burger (teriyaki beef burger), the boyfriend had the double cheese burger and both were delicious and a good deal! The employees were very nice and accommodating. The salad bar was self serve and fresh. Will definitely stop in again next time I'm heading to the North Cascades. read more

This was exactly what we needed after a long day of hiking up Cascade River Road. They have a little outdoor area that is dog friendly and even provided a bowl for our pup which we are grateful for! what can I say? we got there as the place was closing--coming off a mountain hike and after almost capsizing on Ross Lake...we were tired and hungry and Mondo kept their doors open for us. Just ate at Mondo again recently for first time in awhile. My thoughts are similar. Friendly service, eclectic menu with Asian and American food (mostly burgers.) I love the decor with Americana-mixed-with Asian accents. Fried rice and yakisoba still have great, fresh veggies. Chicken teriyaki was just as good as anyone's in a bigger town like Seattle. There are a lot of terrible places to eat between Seattle and the Methow -- in my opinion, this is the only good place to stop for an actual meal. read more

Poor service. Food not so good either. Ordered salad dressing on the side. Server confirmed my request. Salad arrived slathered in low quality blue cheese dressing. Server set it in front of me and seemed reluctant to take it back so I kept it and ate what I could while avoiding the dressing. Ordered the teriyaki tofu. Greasy fried tofu had an overly sweet sauce and was served with rice, no veggies with it. Stomach felt queasy after eating here. Two of my companions ordered the spicy chicken and said it was too spicy. Ate dinner with 11 friends the following night, at the Marblemount Diner. Even though we arrived just after they stopped seating people, they seated us and graciously served us. Food and service was good. I am in Marblemount frequently. We went here mid-afternoon on our return trip from Winthrop this weekend. 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and 8 years old). Asian food sounded good to the adults and 6 year old. The 8 year old wanted a cheeseburger as usual. We will thrilled to find home make gyoza and Bulgogi on a sizzingly plate. Both were excellent. The 6 year old got a chicken yakisoba that he liked and the 8 year old got a double bacon cheeseburger that he liked. The food was all good as was the service. Boy was that first Yelper right about this place. Was going to stop at the burger place down the road. The wife hit yelp saw his posting turned around and went to this place instead. We're traveling home on our last day of our camping trip so we were getting food to go. We ordered the clubhouse and Fries to split and man was it good. The problem isn't the food. It's the bratty hostess (owner?). We pulled in because it was the only food for a long ways, and I think that is another problem. The owners KNOW that this is the only food for a long ways and they use that to their advantage by charging incredibly expensive tourist prices for simple food that you can get other places much cheaper and just as good. We looked at the prices and decided to split a chef salad. The waitress was VISIBLY turned off by the splitting of a meal between 2 people (think: money loss for her) - she literally looked disappointed. We were one of 3 tables with people at them at the time, wouldn't she just be grateful that any money at all was being added to the till? She brought us the salad on a plate that it was falling off the sides of and didn't bother to offer us an extra plate so we had to get in close over one plate like a couple of horses at a feeding trough. We saw people being served big portions of burger related meals, and our salad was a nice amount as well, but it was like $18 for a burger plate (we had considered it at first), and $12.99 for our salad we ended up choosing, so, like I said, that is SUPER pricey for lunch prices and for the simplicity of the menu items that costed that much. There is not ONE cheap thing on this menu! Then she was taking forever to come grab our money when we were done, so my guy went over to the register and I think she still purposely took a long time to check him out after that. What a find this was on our recent road trip at north cascades! The short ribs were to die for. To find a Korean restaurant of such quality in the middle of a remote area is just unreal. We went there for both nights while we were staying in the park, and on the second night the cook came out and have us free kimchi and watermelon! Highly recommended! read more

This is one of the last restaurants available before you get to North Cascades Ntl Park so we stopped without checking it out first. A bit of a disappointment; the halibut fish (and chips) were over cooked but not inedible, the salmon fish and chips were also mediocre. The waiter got our orders mixed up and when we figured it out she switched meals, including the coleslaw after we each had taken a bite. We ordered lemonade without knowing the price as it wasn't on the menu. The price: $4 but with NO REFILLS and it isn't even fresh squeezed lemonade! Bottom line...it's ok to eat here if you have to (there is another place nearby not rated any better) but don't expect much and don't order soft drinks. read more

This was a dining adventure. We stopped in hoping for a good old American diner. What we got was an eclectic mix of Asian, American, and something else. We stopped in on a December Saturday. After we were seated to in an area with only one other couple, we noticed that the place was very cold, perhaps in the 50's. We were seated almost directly across from a noisy furnace, which when fired, bathed us in blissful heat for about 4 minutes and 12 seconds. Then, it shut off and we spent the next 15 minutes waiting for it. One other couple came in while we were there, and we could hear both tables complaining about the cold. Everybody kept their coats on. The Asian waitress was very, very nice. We decided she was probably part of ownership, and related to the Asian cook. The food was fried, or deep fried. My ham and cheese sandwich used mediocre deli ham, and the cheese was kinda bleh. The fries were excellent, because they were freshly cooked and hot. It was kinda fun, and I think the owners are well intentioned, but it is probably not a place we will go back to. read more

On a motorcycle road trip and looking for a lunch stop. The food was very good - I enjoyed a chicken wrap and hubby had a burger. Good size servings, friendly waitress who kept the water glasses full. Nice and cool inside and we were able to keep an eye on the bikes as well from their security camera by the front door. OMG!!! not in a god way. we stopped in - cool building, great reviews. went on Monday drive from Monroe. Got the teriyaki beef and chicken, both were terrible. but the OMG is for their chicken noodle soup. expected great soup from Asian resturant , it was Campbell's chicken noodle from the can, and we were charged $5.00 for it! most restaurants either make their own or get commercial bag soup. this place does not deserve 1 star. Marbelmount may be tucked away "in middle of nowhere", but you don't need to serve canned soup if you know how to cook. read more

We came here on Labor Day weeekend on the Monday and it was about 1/3 filled so not terribly busy. We were seated quickly and our order were placed, two mondo omelets. About 30 minutes in and two cups of coffee each, we start seeing tables that were seated after us start getting their food. The waitress comes over to confirm that we ordered the omelets. We were puzzled but said yes... Another 10 minutes go by and I ask about the food, she makes an excuse that the potato press they use for the hash browns was out of order so it was taking longer but assured us that our order was next. Other food continues to come out of the kitchen. Another 10 minutes go by and she brings out our omelets and the sautéed mushrooms and onions were completely raw, and cold. The cheese in the omelet was completely unmelted in its shredded form and it was just a terrible presentation. So after almost an hour of waiting we received uncooked food. Had the waitress told us the truth and and apologized about forgetting our order it would have been one thing. But to lie to our faces was unacceptable. We will not be returning here. read more

Very friendly attentive staff, big beer selection, though it's all bottles, no draught. Unfortunately my food wasn't all that good. I got the pulled pork, which was a very generous serving size. The pork was nothing to write home about, probably on par with the pre-made stuff you can buy in a plastic container in the grocery store. The baked beans were quite bland. The cornbread muffin was extremely sweet, tasted like the jiffy box mix. The coleslaw was probably the best part of the plate. They do have WiFi, however it wasn't working when I went. We tried the chicken burger, and ramen with tofu. One of the best burgers I have had in a long time, better than the burgers served in the expensive downtown sports bars, same with the ramen. There is also food for the hungry vegetarian stomachs, and my vegetarian friends were pleasantly surprised. The portion size is large (in fact I packed my fries which were fried to perfect crispiness and saltiness). Overall, a must stop over in the North Cascades area, if you are hungry and are looking for a place to grab some good food. read more

Wow, talk about finding a hidden gem. Housed in a very rustic looking long building, this restaurant came across friendly, prompt, and courteous. A mix of Asian and American diner dishes, they have great vegetarian options. They also still have hamburgers and french fries. They also have breakfast options we didn't check into. Stayed in Marblemount during the week and it was the only place open to eat so we weren't expecting much. Never would have thought to find tasty Korean food here. $15 plates came with salad bar, refillable rice, and giant sizzling delicious meat plates. We ate until we were full and then saved the rest, which became our dinner the following night. Really tasty, run by very friendly folks, and it's actually open during the week. 5+ stars! read more

Look, this is a 3 star place. That said, obviously there are some redeeming qualities for the Mondo. Myself, I was looking for a good old fashioned diner while traveling through Marblemount. The place looks like a good old fashioned log cabin bar/diner joint. Upon entering I was shocked however that it was mostly Korean themed. Hey, that's fine. I LOVE Korean food. But it was a bit disarming. Nevertheless I wasn't there for Kimchi, Bulgogi, or the like, I was there for a burger. And honestly, my burger was pretty good. Steak fries were fine too. My girlfriends turkey sandwich however was plain bad. It was flavorless and greasy. The prices were crazy. 13 bucks for a hamburger, I think. Still the lady was nice the place seemed clean, and they had some good beer by the bottle. Just all kind of odd and not really a place I'd want to hang out. read more
