I ordered Ocean Garden Feast with Door Dash. It was supposed to contain shrimp, scallops, calamari and crab legs. What I got with 4 shrimp, 2 scallops, and nothing more. Not exactly a feast. In addition it was supposed to be in a garlic sauce. If it was , it was close to tasteless. Overall extremely disappointing since although we have not eaten there for several years, it used to be our favorite Thai restaurant. Now we usually pick up from a Thai restaurant closer to where we live. This was going to be a special treat along with several other entrees we ordered from the restaurant for Mother's Day. Grab some good Thai food if you're in town. The drunken noodles are so good and I believe their most popular item according to Yelp. Rightly so, it's spicy but not too spicy with your choice of beef, pork, or chicken. The ribs were good but not as flavorful as I had thought. One of my biggest pet peeves about door dash and deliveries is when they don't put napkins or cutlery in the bag!! Ughh. Delivery without utensils or napkins and no receipt either :(. The chicken satay is just okay. I'll lyk about everything else soon. Definitely NOT worth repeating, everything was pretty bad and I was starving that wasn't a good combination. I believe this is the only Thai restaurant on Del Mar in San Clemente. It is a good restaurant, and likely to have an open seat in town, which is typically packed. That said, there is a reason for that. We recently dined here and were able to share quiet a few dishes that were overall underwhelming. We had deep friend squid, pad thai, shrimp fried rice, chicken pad thai, pork ribs, eggplant, and Tom kha soup. You can see some photos below. Our favorite dish was calamari. Most other items were not overly impressive. Fried rice was under-seasoned and was very bland. Eggplant was undercooked, Tom kha did not have the right taste to it. The noodles in my Pad Thai were heated and re-heated so they turned into mush, while the chicken was undercooked and smelled like raw meat. The salmon in the Salmon Salad was dry to the degree that it was uneatable. On a positive note, the place looked clean and the waitress was somewhat polite. Came in today for lunch. Food was quick and delicious. Server was attentive and went over the top to ensure I had an amazing experience. I really enjoyed the yellow curry. If you're really into spicy food, don't be afraid to try level 3 or 4. I went with level 2 and kind of wished I had gone higher. This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant in San Clemente - hands down. The flavors are spot on, and I highly suggest the Pad See Ew if you are looking for a dish with noodles, meat and veggies! (I personally get it with thin, glass noodles). The Pad Thai and Wonton Soup are amazing as well! I only wish the portions were slightly larger but other than that, no complaints. The inside seating is very intimate - it's a small dining room and cozy/homey. Pretty fast with the service as well, except when they get slammed. Giving them 2 stars and not 5 just based off the only experience I've had here. Would love to change it if I have a better experience in the future. Ordered Pad Thai via Doordash, and the wait time kept getting bumped (I also paid extra for faster delivery). I understand this may have been out of their control (wait time), so I didn't mind waiting over an hour (originally it said 30 minutes). When it finally arrived, it looked like it had been thrown into the container vs placed nicely. It was the driest pad thai I've ever had in my life. no flavor, like 2 green onions, and container wasn't even that full. Barely any sauce (pad thai usually is a LITTLE more dressed, if you know what I mean). I'd give this place 5 stars if HC allowed it. Flip straight to the back of the menu for a variety of vegan and vegetarian options, including all of the noodle dishes, many of the rice dishes, and at least one curry. If you like your food spicy, try the Drunken Noodles. The seasoning is delicious, but definitely higher on the heat side (at least for me, but I usually think medium salsa is hot). I was so excited to see a vegan Pad Thai option, and it didn't disappoint. The only thing I might do is order with steamed tofu instead of bean cake (the denser soybean chunks), and see if they'd let me add some veggies. We also had the Pad See Iw, and I think that was my favorite of the not-so-spicy ones. Nice wide flat noodles, some veggies, and a flavorful sauce. Our omnivore family members really liked their dishes too. Service was fast and attentive and friendly. The restaurant is located in San Clemente's cute, busy downtown, about a 1/2 mile up from the pier. This means parking can be a challenge, but we were there at 5:30 on a Saturday night in August and were still able to find parking a block down the street behind the library. read more

Ordered a cup of Tom Kha Gai, Panang Curry with pork and Pad Thai with shrimp. The soup was loaded with chicken and cabbage! It was tasty but without the nuances of heat and cool I've experienced with the best versions of this soup. What makes this one stand out from the norm is the thickness of the chicken pieces. Usually the meat is sliced very thin, which can impact the tenderness. In the soup here, they were thick (almost like little chicken tenders), which made them much juicier than I've eaten in all other versions of Tom Kha Gai, including in Thailand. I'll definitely return for the soup; I rate it 4.5. The Panang Curry was tasty but not memorable; rates a 3.
