Big serving bowls. lot's of variety to pick from. lamb, beef, shrimp, pork tofu. lot's of yummy vegetables and variety of sauces with a guide of suggested serving size for mild or strong flavor. You pay by weight, prize was very reasonable for a great am of food. it's served in to go boxes so you're able to take your leftovers home. This place is in a old "strip mall type place" it's been out here for while. Don't be deceived by the outside . Yes its old skooL and kinda of busted but it's clean. The Chinese food is authentic if you get the a la carte type items I.E. beef chow fun, honey walnut shramp" lol, salt and pepper pork chop etc. it's better then the china one spot DTS. Some items are comparable to "China Republique" in rancho without the price tag . We usually got to a Mongolian BBQ Place in another city, but had heard positive reviews about this place so we thought we'd check it out. They have a lot of veggie choices to add to your bowl! The costumer service was horrible. My father, daugther, and I stopped by earlier today to celebrate my father's birthday by eating lunch there. The server was very rude. Once orders were taken and were being cooked the server came back to my table and told me and my daugther "NO" because my daugther was playing with some of sugar and sweet and low packages. I told the server I will put them back as I found them and she completely ignored what I said and continue to take away the little packages from my hand and my daughter's hand. I hate giving bad reviews! I liked the Mongolian BBQ food. I have never had Mongolian bbq so I did not understand the process. I went today 3-4-22 about 2-3 oclock. The woman at the register was nasty and loud. I was asking for a small plastic cup of teriyaki sauce to go. I did not understand her. She spoke with a screechy loud voice, customers were looking. I told her that I Know that she has a difficult job but that she should be nice. She indicated she didn't understand. I asked to speak with the manager, she said she was the manager. As we sat down, I noticed that they had an area that you put in a bowl all you want in your dish...veggies...meat..etc...then you hand it to the cook and he prepares it for you. We ordered off the menu. Me being a vegetarian I had the spring rolls(2)*they were ok..a bit greasy but ok* I also had the vegetable chow mein * which I liked*. My better half had the Mongolian beef*which he said was just ok* along with this we had the vegetable fried rice....which we both liked. The portions are big. This place was really nice, inside. There business model is one that I think I can get behind. You get you Mongolian BBQ, they cook it, and then they weigh it, and you pay. They have some Chinese food that you can also choose. The restaurant is right next door to a laundromat. The lady that helped us was super friendly, and so was the cook. Ok, since Mongolian BBQ is under new ownership, I thought it was only fair to update my review. No more Dragon Lady! I moved my rating from 1 to 4 stars. I'll explain the 1 star deduction in a moment. Got a chance to go here with my wife last week. There are a lot of nice things going for this restaurant now that it is under new ownership and has been remodeled. The remodel is great, everything looks very nice from the floors to the walls to tables to even the bathrooms. Refreshing change. The staff is friendly and there is no one staring you down as you eat. What a nice change. The food is just as good as it was, with something for everyone. The concept is basically the same as before, you fill your bowl with cold/uncooked meats, veggies, noodles, toppings, sauces, etc. They have sauce flavoring recommendation posted near the sauces. You bring your bowl over to the flat top cooker where the chef cooks it in front of you. Just like before, they will ask if you want white rice and teriyaki sauce. They put your cooked food in a Styrofoam to-go box which is fine with me since we always have leftovers. You take your box(es) up front where the lady weighs it and you pay by the pound (more on this below). Fountain drinks are a reasonable $2.49 and I love that you can get your own refills. One really cool touch is free self-serve egg drop soup station. I wasn't sure if I could get refills of soup but it didn't say not to so I had 3 bowls of soup. The food tastes great. Now, for the 1-star deduction.... I am definitely not a fan of the pay by the pound. Get ready for sticker shock! No more lunch specials here! $5.99 / lb. It adds up quickly. Our bill for two bowls, 1 soda, + tax was $38!!! $38 for two people! Just filling up our bowls like we used to, we ended up with about 2.7 lb each. The bowls are larger so it's easier to add more food in the bowl. The white rice that used be free is in the $5.99 / lb calculation. I really wish they went back to a fixed price and had a lunch special in the $10-12 range. Half the fun before was paying one fixed price and seeing how much food you can pile into your bowl! I am not sure if we'll return only because of the high cost. But, who am I kidding, I'm sure we will. I think next time I'll place less food in my bowl and maybe skip the white rice. Also, she gave us a few coupons as we were leaving so that will help. ----------------------------- I have mixed feelings about this place. I love Mongolian BBQ in general, and the food is good here. But the lady who watches over the place with an eagle eye is soooo incredibly rude. I remember several years ago my wife and I ate here for lunch with our young son. My wife and I each ordered a bowl. We shared our bowls with our son. When I got the bill, she had charged me for an added child's meal. I asked why there was a charge for a kids meal on there and I was asked "Were you sharing?". I said I most certainly was! And I am allowed to. I could share half my meal with my dog. I could throw 75% of my meal away! I paid for it. More recently, I went in with my wife again. I accidentally brought a coupon for another Mongolian BBQ (Moreno Mongolian BBQ which I may switch to). When I showed her the coupon, instead of nicely telling me it was not for her store, she showed me her menu with her address on it and pointed to her address, then pointed to the coupon address. So rude and cold. When I verbally tried to get clarification "Oh, this coupon is not for your restaurant?", she did not answer, she just pointed to each address again. She should be locked up in the back doing dishes or cleaning the restrooms at a minimum, but not allowed to interact with customers. Middle age Asian woman who works there was very disrespectful! Came in to order a bowl to go but decided to eat some of it before leaving, she gave the biggest attitude! When I asked for silverware (wouldn't have minded plastic silverware) she told me that it's for customers who sit down in the restaurant. I just went to this restaurant has i have always done for the past three years living in Moreno Valley and these are new owners that have taken this place over for the past few months, i made my two bowls and as I approached the grill the gentleman were talking so much to where the cook mixed my two bowls up and started shouting at me when i went to the front to get someone to communicate for me then tried to blame it on me and then still didn't cook my food correctly so please just make sure u pay attention to the cook and how he puts your food on the grill it was an easy fix to admit his mistake but instead he blamed me but what i will say is the front cashier did allow me to remake my bowls but as i said were still not cooked well as they are usually. read more
