I'm not familiar with many Chinese buffets around Buffalo, but Mongolian Buffet is definitely better than any places I have tried in the past. It's a fun restaurant to dine in. Saturday late afternoon was busy, but everything looked clean and tidy. I could see all kinds of customers enjoying themselves. Only one lady openly complained. It was too long, she thought, with no crab legs, but eventually she got what she wanted. It's average priced, so expectations should be adequate. I was actually surprised how tasty and fresh the raw clams and seafood in general were. The tray with freshly prepared cuttlefish looked impressive. On the other hand, the selection of sushi rolls was pretty lame and didn't taste anything good. Even the seaweed salad wasn't the best for reasons not exactly clear to me. There was just something odd about it. This buffet allows you to try a little bit of everything which looks appetizing and desirable. I'm sure there is something for everyone. Besides classic Asian dishes, I saw delicious looking roasted pork, freshly served and still steamy hot. I saw pizza, french fries, along with mashed potato and gravy as well. Hibachi is available, too. Just choose all ingredients and the chef will cook it in front of you. I never have desserts besides sesame balls which weren't available this time, unfortunately. Honestly not sure why the ratings are so low but this place is awesome! I would definitely come back here to eat and my rating is 5/5 all around for food and service. The place is clean. They give everyone gloves for the buffet so you have to use the glove for every touch point (plates, serving spoons) at the buffet stations. All staff are wearing masks. They have staff coming by every table to pick up even just 1 plate! They also have staff checking the cleanliness around the buffet trays and wipe up even the smallest spill. Also I watched 2 different families with little kids eat and as soon as they left, the staff was right behind them at the table cleaning up the mess. They don't want anything looking messy at all! Totally appreciate that. As far as the food, everything was excellent and definitely what you would expect at a Chinese buffet. The food was hot and it did not seem that anything was sitting around at all. Also this place serves sushi and hibachi all day! Very good options! This is my favorite Asian buffet in the area! The food is replenished often, so everything is hot and fresh. The restaurant stocks the buffet with crab legs, so it's a really great price for all you can eat crab! They have 3 or 4 different buffet lines, so there is a lot to choose from. There is also a hibachi station, and a fresh sushi bar. It's a great spot for a quick (and filling) dinner with options for everyone. I'll be back again soon! read more

My review is based off of their takeout food, not based off the buffet. Their takeout menu is extensive but the food quality is what you would expect from a buffet place. No, I do not think they just picked what I ordered off of the buffet table, but yes it was low quality, cheap ingredients. I order the same thing from every Chinese restaurant - Shrimp Mei fun, crab ragoons and an egg roll. Prices were pretty average. The shrimp Mei fun was a MASSIVE portion of Mei fun where they added unseasoned shrimp ontop of when they were packaging it. It was very obvious the shrimp and the noodles were not cooked together. The flavor of the noodles was a tad bland also, but throw a cup of soy sauce on it and it's fine! They sure loaded me up with shrimp! The crab ragoons were pathetic. Like liquid cream cheese inside. No crab (not even imitation crab) or onions or seasoning. And so so so very greasy. It tastes exactly like a microwaved plain bagel with cream cheese on it. You know how it get chewy? Yea, just like that. The pork eggroll had food flavoring. It was a little overcooked, but overall it was alright. I don't know, maybe the buffet would be more impressive? Not sure why this place is called Mongolian Buffet: no Mongolian food on menu and also didn't see an option for anyone to do DIY stirfry. But I digress. There were a lot of options here and I probably only tried 50% of the dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the garlic catfish and the non-Asian options too (roast beef, sweet potatoes, etc.) The bill came to $21 with a drink for dinner, but I also know everything is more expensive. The reason for my low rating was the mandarin orange segments in the dessert area had spoiled. First of all, they were obviously from a can. But my bigger issue is that I told the manager, he told someone else but didn't look like he took it seriously. I told him they tasted sour and a sharp taste, a tell-tale sign. I expected him to try it himself immediately or take my word for it. But instead he just told someone else and life went back to normal. WTF. I've been to several different Chinese buffets throughout Western NY. Compared to some of the others, The Mongolian Buffet is just mediocre. The food was tasty, but much of it wasn't hot enough. Cold veggies, cold chicken, and I dig down to the bottom of the pan. I don't think the hot water under the pans is kept up high enough. I will say, the service was outstanding, friendly. I had two servers that were constantly checking on me, keeping my drink full. It's in a very handy location, so I'm sure they get a lot of business. read more

I go often and I always give a tip but there are going to be days where I just don't got for tip and when you don't tip them they get so rude and disgusting with they attitude! Used to eat here all the time, came back for the first time in a while since moving out of the area. The food there was so dry and clearly had been out for way too long. The ceiling has spider webs, theres random flakes of ????? floating around in the community soy sauce everyone has to share from, and the rice from the sushi was crunchy stale. Also apparently they just charge you an extra 5 dollars per person just because its Sunday so its impossible to feel like leaving you got any of your moneys worth. I honestly don't understand all the bad reviews. I visited the Mongolian Buffet for the first time a few weeks ago. Service was exceptional, with everyone very helpful and smiling. The restaurant itself was clean and spacious -- getting in and out of our chairs was a snap due to the tables not being all crowded together. The food selections were out of this world. Plenty of crab legs, shrimp, and other seafood was offered. There were some American foods as well such as mac & cheese, chicken wings and more. They also had a large sushi bar and a salad section as well. Ice cream and other desserts were also available. There was just so much food that I couldn't have sampled each and every dish. But everything I ate, including the scrumptious coconut shrimp, was top notch. Of course, food on a buffet is not going to be steaming hot; it's not feasible. So reviewers who give low ratings because "the food wasn't hot" are being silly and unfair. read more
