Visited Monical's with family for a quick Saturday dinner. We ordered a family sized salad and individual veggie pizzas, one thin and one pan. The salad was generously sized and a much better value than individual salads. We took some home and it was good the next day! I really enjoyed the balsamic dressing. We received two thin crust individual pizzas, but it wasn't a big enough deal to send one back They both were good, with just the right amount of toppings and cheese. Our waiter was an excellent server and quite attentive, checking in on us regularly. He was very friendly and helpful as well. His great service was the reason for the 4th star here. read more

Monicals is just "ok", no matter the time of day or what I order. It's fine. The pizza is fine. The breadsticks however are pretty bad, lacking any kind of flavor or butter topping at all. I understand sit down pizza places are hard to come by in Terre Haute, but I'm disappointed every time I go here. read more

if i could give ZERO stars i ABSOLUTELY would. I had the absolute worst sit down experience ever tonight. I was given the wrong order forced to downsize and forced to pay for the mistake and the remake !!! im not paying for your mistakes monicals! and the manager, Callie there must hate her job, she had no care in the world about that place other than making sure we pay for their mistakes. she didn't care about losing a loyal customer but I can promise you I will not be back. Meh - I know I'm hitting on a touchy spot here because this place is loved by all of rural Illinois. Wasn't that great - I ordered a veggie thin crust and a salad. The romaine looks like they cut it up yesterday or Monday because all the ends were starting to brown up. Most every romaine piece was brown. You guys can do better. Pizza was fair - better than the chain places - Why yellow cheese? Most use a white colored mozzarella on pizza - was this cheddar or American cheese? My son just moved to Peoria, Illinois and they have stores there. He hasn't tried it yet but I told him you gotta be excited when you get a pizza. I just wasn't excited to eat it once I opened it. We were a party of 16 we called ahead made reservations, we were also told to we could order our pizza"s ahead then order drinks, bread sticks. & appetizers when we arrived. Then once we were there and seated and tried to order the bread sticks & appetizers a blond women came out and was very rude and said she was not taking anymore orders from our party. At that time our party cancelled all orders and went to the establishment next door where they were very accommodating and glad to have our large party. read more

Monical's Pizza....a taste from my youth. As a youngster, my cousins, sisters, and I would pile into the car, depart Onarga, IL, and head to Monical's, in Watseka. Fast-forward 40 years later, and here I am at Monical's....again. When I was young (read no palate) I thought Monical's was ugh--hum, THE BOMB! It was a cracker crust style pie reminiscent of Pizza Inn down home in Louisiana. Great pie for a youngster...or a steady good eat. Good pizza! I ordered a 8" Chicken Bacon Ranch pie with a side salad, and I was not disappointed. The salad was basic. Shredded iceberg with tomato & cheese. I ordered it with the balsamic dressing, which was good, but maybe I should have tried their "Sweet & Tart" house made dressing. Perhaps next time. The pizza. The reason I went. Niiiiiice! It's like nachos only in pizza form. This pizza chain from the midwest knows how to make a thin crust, but the rest is just about average. I heard about this chain from several different people and decided to meet a co-worker there to see what it was all about. They offer the standard toppings and a few specialty pizzas [vegetable, italian, bbq chicken], but again nothing which really jumped out and said "hey how are you - try me - I'm a midwest specialty!" The pizza arrived hot, however edible without burning your tongue, and if I had to describe it in one word it would be "crispy". It was a nice change but they seem to skimp a bit on the amount of sauce and cheese used which again led to a average experience. I was quite surprised how busy the restaurant started to get. I started to see groups of people waiting at least 10-15 minutes for a table to open up, as the crunchy sounds of the thin crust must have lured people in. I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't louder than it was, you can still carry on a conversation with someone with out having to literally talk over someone else. The service is fine as our waitress brought out pizzas out promptly and asked if we would like more to drink on each visit to the table. The parking lot is another story and gets surprisingly aggressive. There are a number of restaurants in the shopping center, all located in the same general vicinity, along with a few large box retailers. Although the lot is large a lot of people don't want to walk very far, so if you're willing to walk a little extra you can probably park your car a little further away from the mayhem and get to the restaurant just as fast as someone who parked closer. read more

Ate here with a friend a couple of days ago. Had a 14" pizza and 10 breadsticks between us both. We had good service, drinks were constantly filled, food was fresh and very good. I loved their nacho cheese sauce. This was the first time I had ate here and I would defiantly go back. read more

Pretty poor service and food quality. We were rushed from the time we sat down. The pepperoiles had very little cheese and pepperonis. The cheese tortellini was very small and tasted like frozen microwaved pasta. Almost no cheese inside. The manager refused to talk to us, and wasn't asked or offered anything else just given my check. I left hungry and very upset at the lack of customer service. read more

Best pizza in Terre Haute! I'm one that loves a thin crust pizza because I'm not a huge fan of bready pizza and they offer one of the thinnest thin crust pizzas I've ever had. The toppings were delicious and we walked out pleasantly satisfied. Our waitress was also great. She knew we were on a time crunch and made every effort to rush our food out to us and she got our bill to us sooner rather than later. Very attentive (but not too much so) and made sure our drinks were kept filled the entire time we were there. We visit family in Terre Haute frequently and we'll absolutely be back. read more

Stopped in Terre Haute tonight and decided to chance some pizza as dinner while my family swam. First off, I am not a pizza genius. Second, my wife rarely lets us order pizza for dinner while traveling. However, it was a great night with Monical's pizza. (I mean, why would you order a chain pizza anyways?) Although I can take or leave pizza most of the time, it was nice to have a well seasoned thin crust pizza. I really believe that the fourth star goes directly to the rich marinara sauce. I was thankful the pizza was delivered in an easy-to-toss bag rather than a large box. Monical's is a local favorite. The pizza is craveable. I very much like the breadsticks and pepperollies. They are made from sourdough and taste like soft pretzels. They also have sandwiches that are great, especially for lunch or delivery. The Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich is on my "favorites" list for lunch. The food is NOT worth the price. We ordered a Sm. Chicken alfredo pizza that consisted of frozen processed grilled chicken pieces, think highschool cafeteria grilled chicken... Garlic cheese bread that was literally a hoagie bun cut into 8 pieces with cheese ontop. A family salad consisting of shredded lettuce (.99 at Kroger) diced tomatoes and cheese. And a Buffalo chicken sandwhich. Same hoagie, same frozen "grilled" chicken. Our total....45$. Wow!!! The food was mediocre. Oh my Gosh! The Mighty Meat pan pizza, 10inch is so awesome. I keep craving the deep dish at least once every three weeks. They have the smailer pan, but I had to upgrade to the 10 inch pan. Monical's has pretty good thin crust pizza with a good selection of toppings at a really cheap price. Aside from the pizza though there isn't much else on the menu to rave about. The bread sticks are your standard doughy sticks with a few large salt bits like pretzels sometimes have on them. The salads remind me of those you got in school with the finely shredded lettuce and shredded cheese. They do server beer and wine but the choice is pretty limited. Honestly I would either carry-out or get the pizza delivered and enjoy from your own home. read more

I will not be attending this establishment for a long while. First of all, our waitress got our drinks wrong. Then, the manager came to our table and accused us of calling the waitress names and told us to come to her if we had a problem. Then, another waitress came to us and told us that it wasn't nice to laugh. The only good part of the night was our new waiter, Austin. He received a generous tip. We like Monical's pretty well. We like *this* Monical's because it's right around the corner and is the only place that delivers on the south end besides Domino's. Excellent thin crust pizzas and good breadsticks. We do delivery and carry out mostly because, as mentioned in other reviews, the parking lot is a freaking travesty. It is crowded and downright dangerous, full of people who don't look before crossing and people who think 45 mph is an acceptable parking lot speed.. People will run your azz down if they think they see a spot where they may not have to schlep their fat selves further than 40 feet to get to their pizza, sub or BWW. But other than the lot, we love Monical's. read more

Good food (I ordered a pan pizza it was slightly on the greasy side even for a pan pizza - had to blot with several napkins especially the pieces I reheated the next day, but the breadsticks were perfectly done and salad was fresh), fast and friendly service. I really enjoy takeout or eating in here. I much prefer the pan pizza to the thin crust. The bread sticks are good if dining in, but don't really taste great once cooled down (I don't usually get them for takeout). One thing that impresses me every time I go there is that consistency of their finished pizza's (all the toppings are evenly spaced, amount of toppings, etc). Not going to be the best place to get pizza, but for Terre Haute, I have a hard time finding a better place. read more

Not bad for a pizza chain. In my opinion, Monical's is the second best pizza place in Terre Haute (after Wise Pies). Their menu is very typical. My favorite pizza here is the BBQ Chicken Pizza. This place generally has a nice ambiance and friendly service which makes it fantastic for chilling with your buddies. Overall, I like Monical's and I hope it stays. read more
