Plenty of seating at lunch on a Saturday.

I had a great experience here. I stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Shreveport was under a boil notice, so my Diet Coke came in a bottle, no ice. The iced tea was unavailable too. No fault of theirs, likely due to the bad weather the week before. Crispy bread and marinara sauce arrived. It was sweet but lukewarm, which seemed odd. Still tasty, though. I ordered lasagna and it was delicious. Yes, their sauce is sweet. I love sweet sauce, so it was a hit for me. I wish I could have enjoyed more or taken it to go. My server was delightful, I wish I could remember her name.

Milky Way cake is one of their dessert offerings. It's basically a flat brownie with super rich icing.

I wish I had photos but I sent the food back so fast I never got a photo. They only offer 2 choices of pasta-fettuccine or spaghetti. The marinara sauce is extremely sweet and tastes like it's from a jar and they added sugar. I asked for the Alfredo-marinara mix to go on top of the eggplant Parmesan only to find out both sauces are sweetened and dumped on top of a lumpy pile of fettuccine noodles. The eggplant parm tasted like it had been cooked a while ago(days) and re-heated. Not fresh food. The decor is very dated and "low end". They actually have green garland strung with old school Christmas lights hung from the ceiling. I know this is a Shreveport favorite but unfortunately for us it did not check any of our boxes. We wanted to love it as my husband's favorite food is Italian. Worst part was that when I received my entree I took one bite of the eggplant and one bite of pasta and left it alone. The server asked how we were enjoying everything so I was honest and told her I didn't like any of it and why. She removed the plate and returned it to the kitchen. We never saw the manager once. They never came to communicate with us. Lastly, we asked for our check only to find that the eggplant parm was not removed from the total! Do restaurants believe that customers want to pay for food we can't eat? And when I say can't i don't mean wouldn't. I mean couldn't! It was inedible in my opinion. My husband had the twice baked lasagna and said it was "ok". All of it a far cry from authentic Italian we are used to. Also, the Milky Way cake tastes like a flattened brownie with super sweet icing on top. There is nothing "Milky Way" ish about it. Very Disappointed...

Toasted ravioli. Good, but won't order again.

Monjunis is a Shreveport classic. If you want something light and delicious at a steal of a price, you can order their Italian side salad. Side salad?? Yes. Side salad. It's a generous portion and more than enough to fill you up. I love the olive mix on top. This is what I typically order. Note: the other location does not let you only order a side salad. Today, I decided I wanted pasta and got their spaghetti with 1 meatball. Depending on your preference, you may love or hate their signature sweet marinara sauce. I personally really enjoy it. And I looove that they drench the pasta in sauce. I love my pasta saucy haha! The tender, savory meatball goes well with the sweetness. And this portion is HUGE. I will eat my leftovers for dinner tonight and for lunch tomorrow. If you don't like sweet sauces, don't fear! They have a classic basil sauce you can choose that is equally as good. My mom got the toasted ravioli today. It's technically a starter, but she got it as her entree. There is an option to choose between 6 or 12. 6 would have been the perfect amount. The ravioli were served with a small bowl of sauce for dipping. We would not order this dish again, but it was decent. It was basically fried squares of cheese without much seasoning. They are also famous for their mint tea. I prefer tea elsewhere in the area (won't mention names here), but Monjunis's tea might be worth trying if you like your tea extra minty! It is true that their prices are a bit high, and that's the main reason we don't frequent this place too often. (The prices are one reason why I like to order a side salad to eat as my meal). It would be fantastic if they would make their portions a little smaller to reduce prices. Like I said, their entrees are overly generous, and you are sent home with bountiful leftovers. Just a thought... Before finishing, I have to mention Persia, our lovely waitress from today. We've had hit or miss service here in the past, but Persia took great care of us. She was amazing!!! Thanks, Persia!

MAN!!! Okay so we were obviously hungry. We ordered a lasagna pan, salad, and bread. They said it'll be ready in an hour. Got there and was immediately greeted. Every employee was super friendly and nice. The order was to-go and READY! Place was clean and warm. The food was more than enough and THE BOMB! The salad was sooo fresh. The lasagna had equal ratio of cheese, meat, and noodle. Same good ass food like always. Let the pics do the talking. Oh it was funny cuz one employee asked if we were having a party because it's sooo much food!!! They even loaded it all in the car (SWEET!). We love Monjunis

Best muffuletta you will ever have. Been going to the restaurant for years and years and never a disappointment. Try the local beer selection and the Italian wines. Specials for Valentines dinner for two looks yummy.

The food was great, the server was very nice. I will say though it was just a strange experience that my heavy pasta dish didn't come with a salad and one was not offered for an up charge either. I could have ordered a full salad but that seemed like over kill. I would have given 5 stars but a man down in his luck was allowed to come in and ask for $ at out table. (I think it's awesome that the restaurant was helping him out just made the dining experience a little uncomfortable)

    Lambrusco and bread!!!

I passed on the calamari but it looked delicious and the portion was very large. For entrees i had the halibut - pan seared almond crusted halibut, Parmigiano risotto, kale and cherry tomato sauté. The halibut was delicious, came out HOT but not overcooked or dry which is incredibly difficult for a fish dish and was a nice change. My guest had the red snapper - grilled snapper, Yukon scalloped potatoes, crabmeat, lemon garlic cream, crispy spinach and she enjoyed it immensely For the ending we split the peanut butter pie. My Confession - I love sweets ! There , I said it! And confessing, this was the best peanut butter pie ive ever had. Peanut butter was whipped and light, nice crust and just enuff chocolate to add the cocoa dimension Service was great from my guy Lawrence and the price of dinner was acceptable for the quality. I look forward to visiting again

It was lunchtime, when we went, getting pretty full, you can here, small chatter, but not to noisy or loud in there. We was able to get a parking space, right in front of the restaurant. I highly recommend, this restaurant, to try.
