Mango habanero wings and tater tots
Steph C.

More of a fast food dine in or takeout and enjoy at the brewery next door spot. It feels like an indoor outdoor space and has an airy brewery vibe to it. Their specialty are wings but they have other dishes as well. We ordered the mango habanero wings (more sweet than spicy) with a side of tater tots. The tots came in a generous portion. Staff are friendly and kind. They gave big portions of gelato to kids who ordered.

I haven't eaten in at Monkey King Pub & Grub since 2019 and it was just as good as it was then. We ordered lychee martinis at the bar and Mongolian Beef Chow Mein and it was both significant portions, the martinis were delicious, and everything came out swiftly. I loved the 2000s hip-hop R&B music and it was busy, but still relaxed at around 6:00pm. They take orders via QR code but the staff checked in on us often and were warm and helpful.

We ordered wings and got breasts. They made it right with a phone call letting them know they made a mistake. They gave us credit for a new order. Today they got it right! And delicious too :-) Samantha was super helpful and fixing everything !

Ginger & Green Onion Crab Fried Rice (one added with spam)

I love monkey king, always have. The music and lights are always a vibe. I'm a huge fan of the lumpia and the crab fried rice, full of so much flavor! My friend and I were greeted as soon as we walked in and were able to seat ourselves immediately at the bar. From there we were handed menus to look over as we waited for someone to take our order. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star review is because it was my first time dining in (I usually just order to go) & wish we received faster service.

salt and pepper wings with fries

We had dinner at Monkey King. We ate at the bar. We shared the salt and pepper wings with fries and the green beans with tofu. We also had a regular and mango margarita. The margaritas were average. The green beans were very good. The wings were just meh, they needed to be cooked a bit longer. I may return another time, but would come earlier in the day to see if the chicken wings and drinks are any better.

My date and I wanted to have the hot 'n sour soup again. Thus, we dined there two days ago. He ordered the 10 wings. Instead they brought out garlic fries with 5 wings. I ordered the chicken laab, which was a generous portion and on point. The other two items were garlic noodles and soup. The service is still lacking. This time around they brought out the garlic noodles, the garlic fries with wings and the chicken laab. We waited quite a while for the soup. I have been to plenty of Asian restaurants for family dining. The appetizers and soup are the first things that arrived, followed by several entrees and dessert. Drawback: Truth be told. I hate reading those menus stuck on the table, and ordering the items from a mobile device is totally ugh. Food may be great. However, I still can't up the rating to a four star. It is still a three star. Not sure if I want to do a third visit. Perhaps another option would be better. Call them, place the order to go. Then I would rather go elsewhere close by to dine; namely Alley & Vine.

Smaller Portion of Sweet and Sour Fish
Marsha W.

SMALLER PORTIONS OF THE SWEET AND SOUR FISH. Anyone that has previously ordered the sweet and sour fish, especially as a to go order knows that they use to fill the container nearly to where it could not close. Their portions used to be extremely generous, which is why I was so disappointed in finding out that they now only offer eight chicken nugget sized pieces. It's an obvious change that I'm sure other previous regular customers will recognize. I will say the flavor is the same, but it definitely doesn't feel as worth it as before given the amount and size of pieces they now provide. I will order this item again, but definitely not as often and with the portion size mind.

We went here with the address linked on google but they did move locations just down the street but I wish they posted it on the wall it be easier. Everything is ordered on your phone and if you want drinks, you need to order in the front. Seems like more of a place that people usually pick up their orders because people were coming in and out rather than having a sit down. I went here with my friend after work and the food came out fast. I think some of the food was rather salty but overall pretty good. My friend and I really enjoyed the garlic noodles. It terms of the ribs, I didn't like it at all. It was rather dry and so salty- I couldn't taste much of the meat but just the batter. I think the fried rice is a good side and overall the portion sizes were great. Ate and was satisfied and had tons of left over to take home!

HOUSE FRIED RICE

Another night out with a rather large group. They usually visit, but this was my first time. It was very cold inside, but we stayed for less than an hour. The menu was very big, but I knew I wanted chicken wings. I had the korean chicken wings and they were very good. Not too spicy, and were still good airfried the next day. It wasn't very busy and service was quick. I didn't drink anything, but the bar looked like it had a creative menu.

Saw someone post the food here had to come in and try it for myself and this places led was PACKED. I got thrrr at 5:15 and it was packed and they just opened at 5:00PM, I got the shrimp fried rice, Mongolian beef chow mane, and the salt and pepper chicken wings & fries, everything was good, THE SHRIMP FRIED RICE WAS THE BEST FRIED RICE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, I live in Sacramento and I've had mostly all the Chinese food places and don't really like their rice and I get out here and they have the best rice I will be coming back Food: 10/10 Taste: 10/10 Price: 10/10 Tip: 0 (spent alot of money on food

The burger is a best in class. Great ciabatta roll, good meat well seasoned and perfectly cooked, house-made aioli and the fries are from actual potatoes! Much more limited wine selection but the pinot noir was all the burger needed for a balanced meal. If you go to watch one of the games get there early for a seat at the bar.

I pointed out the mistake to the waiter - I hadn't ordered tea - and he said that the Pub charges $6.25 for a cup of hot water, the same as for a pot of tea. I was incredulous. I said, Really, the Pub charges $6.25 for one cup of hot water? I pointed out that my friend and I had not been served any water with our dinner - all the water we had between us was the one cup served to me, and the Pub charged $6.25 for that? The waiter rescinded the $6.25 because of my vociferous protest, but I will not be returning there.

I definitely underestimated my appetite because the portions here are no joke! I ordered the double bacon burger with fries and a pretzel, but I could only manage to finish half of the burger and some of the pretzel--it was super filling! Parking was easy, as we found a spot on the street. Just a heads-up if you're visiting Oakland--be mindful not to leave anything visible in your car. Our server was fantastic--very attentive, friendly, and quick to bring our drinks and refills. I also really liked the unique ordering system, where you can place your order straight from your phone at your own pace. Overall, a great experience with delicious food and a fun vibe! Would definitely come back.

Seawolf is mainly a bar, but you can order food as well. For outside seating, you go inside to order (no one will greet you and tell you unless you go inside) and they will bring the food out to you. Here's what we got: - Hazy beer (for him) - Jumbo whole wings (buffalo flavor) [for him] - Breakfast burrito (mine) The menu is quite limited. It wasn't busy that day so we assumed that the food wasn't going to take that long, but it took 30 minutes. If you're here on a sunny day, I would suggest that you also bring a hat / sunglasses since there's no overhead covering. In terms of the food, Zach said his wings were good and wished he had more. The salad that came with the burrito was refreshing. The burrito is good too, a little spicy but tolerable. Honestly, I think they prioritize the bar and people in the bar first so maybe that's why the food took a while and no one came to check in on us. Overall, it's a decent spot for a quick bite.

For the amount…read moreof money I spent for a three-hour event for 25 guests, the experience and service we received were extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, the customer service was lacking. Before finalizing my event, I visited the venue in person to ask questions and get a better understanding of the space. The Hispanic male employee I interacted with was unfriendly, unapproachable, and unable or unwilling to answer even basic questions, repeatedly telling me to contact sales. While I understand that sales handles bookings, I expected someone who works at the venue to be able to provide some level of assistance or information. Unfortunately, his attitude remained the same during the event. Several things that had been requested were not set up as discussed, and the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. What upset me most was that some of my guests arrived carrying water bottles, and this employee openly told me, in front of my guests, that he would kick us out if he sees outside drinks again. I found this incredibly embarrassing, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. The experience became so uncomfortable that many of my guests left early. For what was supposed to be a special occasion, the service and treatment we received fell far below expectations. Considering the amount spent, I expected professionalism, hospitality, and a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, we received the opposite. I would not host another event here, nor would I recommend this venue to others looking for a place to celebrate an important occasion.

Unfortunately, the fish did not taste as fresh as we had hoped, and the quality did not match the description. The dessert was also a disappointment. My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.
