Small burger with onion rings and petal sauce!!!!!!! Sooo good! $11 for burger. Side separate, sooo worth it

Love this place! Always stop in after visiting the farm markets. It reminds me of home... small town Pennsylvania bar. Locals place but friendly to everyone. Cash only! (ATM available) Now have a liquor license! New owners since about 3 yrs ago. Same great atmosphere as before. Friendly staff, always!! Maybe 3 tables inside, about 8 bar stools, a bunch outside, including a fire pit area out back. The burgers.... are AWESOME!!! 2 days ago I had the burger (small) comes with 2 smash pattys, cheese, LTO. Ordered onion rignd for side (burgers dont come with sides but the rest of the handheld menu does). Onion rings come with petal sauce, OMG... WHATEVER it is has horseradish and I loved it!

Stopped in here for a burger, everything is always good but def missing the monks vibe it use to have.

Great small business support them.

Ok update on my previous review. Smoking not allowed so therefore a five based on the food and atmosphere. With the rush towards franchises little one off joints like this are becoming rare. Service was great. With an update to my previous review this is an easy 5 stars.

The tots that we got with our burger. I'm not expecting a whole basket, but ordered two and they split it in half.

came here because it was highly recommended. Food wasn't bad, but it is like they counted the tots before Serving. $11 dollars for a burger patty, because they don't have them on the kids menu. Paying almost $70 doesn't justify what we got.

Heide is inly at her third day, but her handled everything like a Vet. The two ladies next to me recommended the burger and it did not disappoint. With a side of fries and a selection from the bar my dinner at this unexpected spot was a hit out of the park! If there was a picture of the perfect "hole in the wall", Monk's would be it!!

Cheap. No frills. Delicious! This is totally a biker bar vibe. It was a warm-ish Sunday and several bikers were out enjoying the weather. Most seemed to be regulars here. It was a upbeat, friendly atmosphere. This spot is cash only, but don't worry about not having enough, everything here is reasonable priced. We got two burgers, two drinks, onion rings, gizzards, and fried okra and I think it was still under $35 (don't forget to tip though) and entirely too much food for just two people. We had leftovers ready for the air fryer. The burger wasn't anything fancy. They didn't have dozens of crazy options. Just the burger, gooey cheese, and they basics. The bun was toasted and it was delicious! There is lots of outdoor seating which was perfect for social distancing and bringing the pup to enjoy the experience. The staff were all in masks, I felt comfortable the whole time and look forward to returning next time I want a quick meal in that part of VB!

Pimento Cheese and Bacon 1/2 pound burger or what's left of it lol

Found this nice hole in the wall by chance. Walked in and was greeted by a bunch of friendly folks. I had a beer and the pimento 1/2 pound cheese burger with Bacon and it really hit the spot. If you're looking for good food fast, a cold beer and friendly people then this is a great spot!! I ate half my burger before I remembered to take a picture but here is what's left of it lol.

1/4 pound BBQ sandwhich and fried okra

Cash only! Food was great. Keep in this mind, this is a bar; not a fancy sit down restaurant. Back woods on the VA-NC border where you can order fried gizzards and livers (unfortunately out of stock during my visit). Staff was friendly sly and welcoming. They had a NFL game on. All I needed was to thaw out from my ride, recharge, and refill the belly. Mission accomplished. I recommend the BBQ sandwhich and fried okra.

This place is not for everyone. I would not bring my mother. But I like it. Small, casual atmosphere, bikers, babies, dogs, families.....you never know who you will see. 3 or 4 booths, a couple of tables and some bar seating. The music was loud and that's just part of the atmosphere. Since it was raining it was a nice touch that someone held the door open for us. We sat at a booth. 2 beers. I got a small Cheeseburger and she got a fried bologna sandwich. The menu is small and basic. But you can get okra and fried gizzards. Don't always see that on menus. The burger was delicious and I loved the crispy crinkle cut fries. They came out unseasoned so add that salt. Definitely worth a stop if you are driving by. I believe when you are done you go up to the register to pay. Don't sit and wait for a check. CASH only!!

Great place to eat.

Great food, service and atmosphere! The burgers and fries are awesome, as is the BBQ. A not to be missed place.

Large and medium burgers-

Kept reading about Pungo and this small place. It is a tiny place where hikers stop to rest. Burgers were delicious! Service was great-too! It was well worth the nice drive!

The food is Okay. The managment is VERY unclear on the Covid rules and could use some training in customer service.

At first, the hostess said they were full inside but had a few seats outside. The weather was nice so we figured, sure. When we came outside, there were two other people that looked defeated. I asked how long they had been sitting there and one guy said 20 minutes, the other said 10. The whole time and no one had been there to even greet them. It was at this point, I knew we were doomed... but I never expected what actually happened. Eventually, a server comes out. He greets the other two folks then looks us and straight up ignores us. Look, ignore, and keep walking. Thinking that maybe he's just busy we chilled some and waited... nope... gave them water and still continued to ignore us. After THREE more times of this waiter ignoring us, we decided to go to the hostess for alternate seating. While there at the front, I was so infuriated that I told 3 other customer waiting in line our experience and insisted they enter at their own risk. They left. While we did get another seat with a waitress that was very amenable, the service from everyone else was just lackluster as heck. Overall, if you're just struggling for wings, sure... hit this place up. However, if you want an actual decent experience b/c of how much the cost of nights are... I'd advise pass. Our server was Lauryn, and she was great. She was nice and attentive but not worrisome. We had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with the house made Sangria. As an entree, I had the whiskey burger with truffle fries. I really liked the cheese curds; they're a lot flavorful than traditional mozzarella sticks. The house made sangria was really good too! We had to stop ourselves from just sucking it down. The burger is where I had the issue. It was a little on the dry side.... Too well done despite asking for medium. It also wasn't seasoned well. The only flavor rally came from the bbq sauce and onion straws. The truffle fries were good though. The menu said they won't best burger of Virginia Beach, and that was made me get a burger. Not the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I will try the pizza and probably go to the Shore drive location since that is closer to my house. Again, the vibe, service, and scenery was worth the drive.. the food not so much.

On Wednesdays they have Pub Quiz at 6:30 PM & 7:30 PM and it's free to play the trivia game. Although it was quite loud during the Pub Quiz game, we still enjoyed our dinner catching up with our good friends. It was my first visit to Studly and I've heard good reviews. Studly Brewing is a spacious, family friendly restaurant and brewery that offers a wonderfully casual, bright, and fun vibe with its exciting baseball themed decor that easily brings a smile to everyone's face. The servers were friendly and welcoming. We decided to try the Full Count Nachos from the Spring Menu, and the Figley Field wood-fired pizza looked appetizing. Our food order came out pretty quickly. OH MY! The freshness of the Figley Field pizza and the tasty combination of its ingredients (fig spread topped with bacon crumbles, prosciutto, red onion, goat cheese crumble, and mozzarella on house-made dough where the pizza is finished with fresh arugula on top) made it my new favorite! And I also enjoyed the Hazy IPA that our server Taylor said was her favorite. Looking forward to stopping into Studly Brewing again very soon! I know I'm sure to find a few more new favorites on their menu.
