    Spaghetti and meatballs
    Amy S.

We decided to try something new for our double date night out. The location is in the older part of Buckeye. It is nicely decorated with low lights and greenery. Service was awesome and fast. Our drinks were barely empty before we were refilled. Our food came out in a reasonable time as well. I ordered the chicken with spinachi pasta that had a white sauce base. It was a large portion so I took half of it home. The plate came with some delicious garlic bread. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. He enjoyed it but noted a bit of spice to it. Our friends had the flatbread and Philly sandwich. Taste was on par. We finished out the evening with a shared slice of the peach crumb cheesecake that featured bits of a honey glaze. Yum! We are hoping to try it out for breakfast soon.

Counter - but orders are taken at the table

I really hate writing a mid-level review of a new place, especially in downtown Buckeye where we desperately need businesses to be successful. However, honest criticism is needed for change to be made, and I really hope that they can work towards being successful. The place is clean. It's not new, and tables/chairs are mismatched, but it's a clean diner style setting. This was a one man show in the front of the house. He was doing to go orders, taking orders, bring food, the whole thing. We were there for lunch and it got quite busy with new people saying they had come across reviews on Facebook. That's why we were there too. The food. Oh, the food. A turkey & brie sandwich - asked what kind of bread. The options were white or wheat. For an Italian "inspired" restaurant, this would have been a lot better option on the focaccia that they already have. The sandwich had 2 slices of deli turkey, a piece of rubbery, wilted lettuce, tomato, roasted red pepper, and melted brie. It was on toasted sandwich bread. Served with a bag of chips Meatball panini was 2 meatballs per half, served on focaccia bread. Nothing fancy. Comes with a bag of chips. The soup. I have had my shared of canned soup in my life. This soup looked and tastes EXACTLY like Progressonsoup, with Acini de Pepe pasta added to it. Service was fast, but we got there before the crowd came in. I really do hope that they can work to make it a place that locals can enjoy, but based off the menu today, I can't even do my normal "3 strikes you're out" rule. Given 3 stars for being clean and fast, with a friendly server. Hopefully room for potential.

    Burrata pesto appetizer

My husband and I came out to dinner. We really enjoyed the Burrata pesto appetizer. The red pesto was so delicious. My husband ordered the Gnocchi and sausage pesto and I had the Chicken Parmigiana. We came less than an hour to closing and the only in person diners. The waiter was very attentive and honest about his recommendations. We will definitely come back to try breakfast.

Ask the Community - Monroe's Kitchen

Is the where the 25/35 restaurant use to be?

No. That is now The Heritage @ Old Town. Monroe's is where Nana's & Tata's was. North side directly across the street.

I saw a few reviews complaining about the wings, and honestly, I don't get it. Their wings are made with organic, hormone-free chicken, and they're absolutely delicious. You can taste the quality and the difference compared to typical frozen wings. I love supporting small businesses, especially ones that put this much effort into their food and customer service. If you're in Buckeye and haven't tried Argentos Pizza yet, you're missing out. Keep up the great work!

The crust was delish - hard yet the tips were droopy - that's a beautiful job - as a NYer we look for that in a pizza. It was tasty. I did order a cannoli when I ordered my pizza. When we were ready to leave, I went up to get a box and asked if my Canoli was ready and she said "I will make it now" This isn't a sit down order at the table kind of place. From here I was sitting, I was able to watch the gals just chit chatting - I think she forgot. Not a big deal. I ended up taking it to go. Had a bite when we got home, that was yummy. Pizza is tasty would I drive back down to our downtown for it? Probably not. Glad I was able to try it. Like I said "it was tasty"

The interior spoke of old world dining. A quaint and charming decor that told a story of old Italy. The service was quick and friendly. Our waitress was efficient and personable. You could tell she enjoyed her job. We indulged in a house Merlot that had a fantastic flavor. We tried the appetizer sampler platter that was just the right size for the two of us. Our entree's were prepared with great care and tasted of wonderfully fresh ingredients. The portion size was just right for us. We did not partake in any desserts, but the list looked just yummy. Just a great location in Old Town Avondale. We are looking forward to our return to try something new.

Lina took care of us and still managed even though this place got busy real quick. We had some delicious zucchini appetizer along with the complimentary toasted bread. The penne arriabatta was delicious and my date raved about the creamy Tuscan chicken. I look forward to trying again. If you partake in wine I noticed a big selection. I really enjoyed the experience and the super clean, nice smelling bathrooms made me smile.

We've been driving by this restaurant for a while and since it was on the way home we popped in. We were greeted instantly and immediately shown to a booth. My mother wanted lasagna, so we ordered that first thing with our drinks while my sister and I browsed the menu. She ordered the chicken parmesan. I'm on the carnivore diet, so I ordered the meatballs with a chicken side. (So many restaurants don't make it possible to accommodate carnivore diets, but they did! So, I eat out with my family more often now!) Everything was delicious. The food was delicious, fresh and my mother especially enjoyed the olive oil with balsamic vinegar that came with the bread. (Great quality olive oil, a beautiful and rich green color.) Everyone was friendly. Our server, who happened to be tending the bar as well, very graciously made me a raspberry mojito without mint because I have mint allergies. He was the FIRST bartender to make it without questioning it and it was PERFECT! Lovely service, great atmosphere, food was delicious and fresh. We're certainly looking forward to coming here again!
