Just finished the Valentine's Day feast, we liked the Fourth of July dinner they offered so much we thought we'd have the Cupid feast too. All I can say is OMG amazing! I don't know how they do it. Every item, from the incredible salad, crab cakes, potatoes au gratin coconut crusted sea bass and filet mignon were better than we could imagine. Spectacular job by Monrose Catering with Donna and crew! Finally had a little time to recover and reflect on my daughter's wedding last week. The reception catering was an early highlight of the day. The finger food was served HOT, fresh, and surprisingly tasty with obvious quality suitable for a Malibu wedding...and it's hard to please me. Many guests were raving about each item. I was also impressed by the serving staff, who took time to interact with us, serving us in a pleasant, delightful manner. We hired Monrose for our wedding and for a BBQ the day before. Both events went perfectly thanks to Monrose. They went above and beyond. Service from everyone was professional and efficient. Their bartenders took no shortcuts preparing each multistage drink from scratch, in high volume and with speed. Our BBQ had the best catering barwork I've seen. No joke, pumping out a few hundred individual hand shaken margaritas in a couple hours in the sun. They arrived at the BBQ venue and needed zero direction, like a special operations military team, they had the whole thing down like clockwork, which as the host allowed me to actually enjoy myself and that was fantastic. Their dinner they prepared for our wedding was amazing. The food quality for me is one of the most important aspects of a wedding. I remember every meal and I won't soon forget this one. As the caterer for a wedding, I think they did a great job. Timing was executed well, the food was mostly delicious and the staff was well-behaved. What more does the wedding party need? The bar was in place and drinks were flowing when guests arrived at the scene. The pours were generous and the bartenders were friendly. The h'orderves served at this particular wedding was coconut/battered shrimp, filo-wrapped cheese, and quesadilla. All were delicious but the shrimp was my favorite. I couldn't restrain myself from stalking the servers with those trays of shrimp. Though they disappeared quickly, thumbs-up to the happy couple for ordering enough of these. The dinner buffet line was executed pretty smoothly and all guests were served portions and eat in a timely manner. The vegetable/non-meat dishes were excellent. The chicken, on the other hand, somehow wasn't as delicious. My neighbors left some of their chicken behind as well. One plate of food was plenty for me. The staff was mostly out of site and quiet with breaking down and retrieving dishes and cleaning the tables. This is several weeks over due... Monrose catered an event for the salon I work at sponsored by ELLE/Wella. The staff was very professional and friendly. I loved the fact that every time I passed by one of them or looked over there was always a smile on their faces, even when they were setting up. The hors d'oeuvres they passed around were delicious, and such a beautiful presentation! Guest and co-workers are still complementing and raving about them, especially those cute mini lobster tacos. So we were a bit worried about clean up since we hadn't worked with this company before and by far the best clean up ever! They're so precise on putting things back where they found it, a good example is where they setup their refreshment table; literally the way they found our manicure tables before setup is exactly where they put them back after the event; it was like perfect measurement (even tho they didn't know we moved them there earlier to make room and we were going to move them back ourselves to their original location) However I did stop the gentleman from moving the last table because I felt a little bad since we were going to move them again. The effort put into putting them back was greatly appreciated! The cleanup where they prepare the food was spotless after the event, to the point where I honestly believe it was cleaner than we had left it. The food and service was amazing! We were scrambling to essentially re plan our wedding reception 2 months out because we wanted to switch to an outdoor venue (due to potential Covid restrictions in LA). Monrose Catering helped create my company's Holiday luncheon for over 600 guests and it turned out great! The food was mostly good, presentation was very classy, and the staff was very professional. The presentation was very nice as we had 4 buffet service stations where servers helped us with our choices. Everything was very clean and presentable. They even decorated the dessert table with festive decor. The food choices were plenty as we had fried shrimp (sauce was too sweet), chicken egg rolls, curry samosas, 3 types of sliders (beef, bbq pork and veggie), turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, truffle mac n cheese (pretty good) and a variety of displayed desserts with brownies, cookies, cream puffs and scones. They had tents set up for the big kitchen area and were busy cooking for hours before our event started. There were other wait staff available for clean up and helped clear the tables of the guests. I am not sure of the budget as I didn't personally organize the event, but speaking as a guest's point of view, it was very classy. The reason it is not 5 stars is that I noticed that some of the items served were similar to items available at retail stores. I understand they can't cook every single item as we did have a large selection, but some of the food wasn't the best quality or flavor. My husband and I hired Monrose Catering for our wedding of 85 people, and I cannot recommend them enough! First, the quality, flavor, and attention to detail that is given for each meal is really a masterpiece. My husband and I absolutely love barbecue, and we both were impressed by how everything was presented cleanly and beautifully, but more importantly tasted amazing. All of the food was delicious, and I can't name how many people raved about how it was the best wedding food they had ever had. People have been asking me if Donna owns a restaurant that they can visit, because they want more. The appetizers are artfully made as well as tasty, and I loved that a separate plate was brought to my husband and I while we relaxed for a moment alone after the ceremony. For the bar, we had red and white sangria, wine, cider, and beer. The sangria was by far the favorite of the night- the bartender did wonders with the cheap wine we provided him with, and I have been asked for Donna's recipe multiple times (and I wish I had it to give out!). Donna was really great at working with us on a menu that would fit our budget and what we had in mind. She didn't flinch when we gave her our price range, and worked with us to find something that would perfectly suit our day. I am a wedding photographer and come across catered food nearly every weekend. I've tried it all, from classy surf and turf, to the casual pork belly sliders. A top of my favorite caterers, in Monrose Catering. I have had them catered a few of my brides last year, the most recent at Rancho Del Cielo in Malibu. On this occasion, Monrose was serving a 4 station buffet, including a Mash Potato Bar that was out of this world. I thought that this was one of the most fun, flavor packed and unique displays at any of my weddings. From the start of the line, you grab a Martina glass which gets a heaping base of fresh Mashers. From there, you're able to pick from gourmet toppings, stacking on as much as you want of the pipping hot condiments. We had 6 offered and they were so delicious and filling. We also had a steak sandwich station and cheese plates. At one point in the night, Monrose also came around with cookies and milkshake shooters - free of charge! Another nice thing was also the design of the food. Our look was minimal so Monrose presented all the food in a minimal, white, streamlined way. We loved it! We had two hosted bars with some of the friendliest bar tenders I have dealt with in LA.
