There are some nice things about this facility like appearance, cleanliness, and a full staff. The dentist and the hygienist had a good bedside manor. My qualifications in choosing a dentist were 1) takes my insurance 2) has a trained hygienist to clean your teeth instead of a Dental Assistant or the dentist him/herself 3) doesn't suggest unnecessary procedures 4) doesn't rush and gives thorough care. My appointment was at 9 am. Since I was a new patient, I arrived at 8:40 am to do paperwork. Unfortunately, I was first called back at 9:45 for x-rays. I was seen around 10:15 by the dentist who then gave me a list of procedures that she asked me to stay for that morning, including a crown and special periodontal treatments. I told her that I was already there 1.25 hours and wasn't expecting to spend my whole day there. I also asked to have the hygienist clean my teeth. The hygienist came and he did some "special cleaning procedure" that they waived the fee on, but then sent the dental assistant to clean my teeth. I asked them to send him back to finish the job since I chose this place partly because they have a hygienist. In between the dentist's exam and the cleaning you are given time with the office manager who explains your insurance and all the things the dentist recommended for you. The total came to $800 of recommendations after insurance, not including a bite guard that she would recommend after the crown was put in. I left at 11:20 am after only getting a cleaning, x-rays, and a dental exam. All in all, I feel like every time I go here I will be asked to do some extremely expensive procedures. Everyone was extremely nice, but I felt like I had to ask a lot of questions and make sure I was understanding everything they recommended and then go home and check if these procedures were necessary. I think I'll call back and cancel my 6 month check up that they scheduled for September to see another dentist and see if I get a different opinion. She seems like she's a skilled dentist who will give you good care if you want to spend a lot of money and be extremely cautious to the point of spending money on things that your insurance doesn't cover just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position financially to do that. Still on the look out for someone who can meet my criteria! read more

I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. Everything is so tech savvy but it makes going to the dentist a lot easier. Although I enjoyed seeing my previous dentist, I decided to find a new dentist closer to home. I LOVE my new dentist. Everyone at Monrovia Modern Dentistry is wonderful! I was treated like family. Kris and Cristina were amazing!!!!!!!!! I called and they both were sooo nice and were able to accommodate myself , my two kids and my husband. I had a horrible experience at another facility and I spoke to them about it and they were so apologetic. They made sure my experience here was great. The dentist was also nice to and explained everything in detail. The other facility tried to jip us for our money and coded certain services incorrectly and even billed us services that were not necessary. Definitely coming back to Modern dentist. read more

Dr. Bathia and her team are the best! so knowledgeable and she explains everything to you. She goes through x-rays in detail explaining everything that's going on and has no problem referring you for a second opinion so you can feel comfortable about your treatement and procedures. I have always been terrified of "The Dentist" and know this is common but from the moment I called and advised how scared I was the girls in the front assured me Dr. Bhatia would help me. The day I met Dr. Bhatia I had finally felt like it's going to be okay. She talked to me with such care and consideration of my experiences that although I was extremely nervous she gave me a safe feeling. That feeling is what kept me coming back! I adore the entire office! Lucy is such a smile to my face when I see and talk to her! Dr Bhatia has done another SUPERB job on a crown within the smile line. You can't tell which are the crowns and which are my natural teeth. I work in the dental field but the doctor who employs me is a specialist and does not practice general dentistry. Even the wife of the doctor I work for had to come really super close and stare for quite some time before she could finally pick it out and even then she was hesitant. She was impressed too and that's saying something. So I do know what I'm talking about when I say my crowns are the best or perhaps I should say the crowns that Dr. Bhatia placed are the best! As far as people complaining about cost of dental care...dental care is expensive no matter where you go. Those people are not taking into account the years and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loans to get through school not to mention the cost of each and every dental chair, x-ray machine, lighting, instruments and overhead. Dr. Bhatia and her team are worth every single penny. They stand behind their work. The front desk does a fantastic job managing the patients standing in front of them and answering the phones. They always have a smile and even a hug on days when you're not feeling quite so chipper! They bend over backwards to help you with finances to find the best fit for your pocket book. There was a time when I was unemployed and they really did all they could to help me and my family. The back office staff is just as fantastic. They are efficient, competent, and friendly. If I could give this place zero stars for their customer service, I would. I scheduled an appointment for my mom for Saturday 9/3/22. Her insurance was already approved prior to scheduling the appointment. She received a call the day of the appointment by the front desk clerk, her name is CHRIS. She was very rude and claiming to have called my mothers cell phone number several times to confirm her insurance, when she only called once. She lied multiple times, saying that my mothers insurance wasn't accepted, when it had already been approved. That's the reason why we were able schedule the appointment in the first place. I called back to get a better understanding of why my mothers appointment was cancelled and CHRIS proceeded to cut me off every time I would speak and never apologize for making the mistake of not scheduling my mothers appointment and became very belligerent. Proceeded to say that we didn't have an appointment, when in fact I received paperwork and an email confirmation from Monrovia Modern Dentistry. CHRIS was very rude to my mother and I and I feel like she shouldn't be working the front desk with that kind of attitude. She makes your company look very bad. read more

I love this place. The people are so nice. My 3 hour visit was pain-free. I was dreading getting my bridge removed and replaced (it was damaged). This place has all modern equipment. They even brought me a "menu" to choose which movie I wanted to watch during the procedure! The front staff was super clear about billing and they have a payment plan. So it looks like a very nice place very presentable but looks are deceiving , so I went there for a pain for my tooth and they did exrays and took two people to do this and it took forever I waited for 4 hours and they had me waiting so the dentist explain to me about my teeth are broken ok I get that and I needed crowns and my lower tooth which that was not the problem I had pain In My upper area needed work and they still didn't take care of the problem I was so much in pain so they were just talking about money it will cost this plus they took my insurance deductibles plus I had to pay out of pocket and still I came out with pain so they didn't even offer antibiotics or Tynenol what kind of dentristry is this ?they are ripp offs ! I LOVE this place. I just moved here and hadn't yet been to a dentist out here but I came home from work Friday with Terrible pain from a wisdom tooth I was supposed to have extracted and by Saturday morning, my mouth was so swollen I couldn't open it. I called at around 8 am on Saturday about my problem, and they were able to get me in right away. Everyone was super polite and helpful and the doctors I saw were all great. The doctor I saw gave me prescriptions for pain relievers and antibiotics and set me up with an appointment with the oral surgeon. I saw another dentist just days before an emergency toothache sent me here. They were much more thorough than the previous dentist, helped me to sign up for a dental discount thing which saved me a couple hundred bucks (no insurance) and the dentist actually listened to my complaints and found the issue, showed me the x-rays and explained everythihg. They did full mouth x-rays, took some photos and even gave me a slip which outlined the other dental work I needed and the costs for it. They outlined the best course of action at the time to fit my budget and didn't push me to do more than I could afford at the time. For someone who hasn't been to the dentist in 6+ years, this was a positive experience. Oh, editing to add-- they also got me in same day within just an hour of when I called. I decided to come here for a teeth cleaning because they were open on a Saturday which is convenient for me because I didn't have to miss work. It took two hours for a basic cleaning. I had never been at the dentist for so long. They also said I needed a new filling. I wanted to get it out of the way so I just went ahead and got new filling put in my back left molar. For days it had felt like the filling was high and as a result, my tooth was hurting due to the uneven bite. I went back about four times to get it fixed and they kept saying it didn't look high and give it time. After about two weeks of continuous pain, I decided to miss work and went back to my regular dentist to check this out himself even though he had nothing to do with this filling. He said the filling may not look high but it doesn't mean it's not too high. He fixed it for me free of charge and the pain finally went away. The problem I also had with this location is that they did try to sell me on products and services. For example, it was the first time in my life I heard that I grind my teeth and I needed a $300 mouth guard to fix this. When I mentioned this to my regular dentist, he said he didn't see any indication of teeth grinding. The service was just bad overall and felt like they care more about money than my well-being. read more

Today was my first appointment and definitely my last at Monrovia Modern Dentistry. Prior to a one year lapse in regular visits to the dentist, I was a serial dentist-goer. I've only had one cavity my whole life. Even through braces. However, after what felt like a billion x-rays today, the dentist (Dr. Lee I believe) came in and told me I had SIX cavities between my teeth. He assured me that although the "spots" in the X-ray didn't look like anything, he was a professional who was trained to recognize cavities. Totally. He also wanted to do the fillings right then and there. I declined and the front desk/billing person seemed personally offended. The one bright spot of the day was the hygienist was very nice and noted how very clean my teeth were. read more

Dr. Ly was absolutely wonderful. He is truly gifted in his work. Everyone is so wonderful there , especially jessica . They were great to my 8 year old, and his assistant (can't remember her name long hair Latina) was so great in holding her hand and encouraging her. I was looking for a dentist in my neighborhood and found Monrovia Modern Dentistry on yelp. Everyone in my family got their checkups and had worked done in a short time. The receptionist are all very approachable and will work with you without hesitation. The dentist are patient and make you feel comfortable. My youngest (9 yrs) was somewhat nervous so his Dentist and assistant made every effort to insure that he was as relaxed as possible. On his next visit he had no hesitation what so ever to get the work he needed done. You'll love this place. read more
