Monster Mini Golf is a success if you have children. If you don't and you are also not a teenager, I am not quite sure why you came here, but that is distinctly your business. Suited in what appears to be an industrial park in Fairfield, Monster Mini Golf is a glow-in-the-dark, faux monster laden flat course designed for children. The course is actually all connected unlike its outdoor counterparts. When I took my kids it was pretty busy and we didn't have any hold ups on the course, but I can see that if you were right behind someone, there might not be too much area to wait in. The one thing it is lacking, is ample space between holes - at times there is only two feet from the actual hole on the last hole and the next tee-off. The design is actually kind of cheesy from an adult point-of-view, but pretty cool if you are looking through kid eyes. MMG also has a small arcade area where, as parents, we waste dollars in order to win tickets that are then translated into small plastic toys worth 1/10 of our donation, BUT our kids thoroughly enjoy themselves. They also have two rooms for birthday parties which looked like a decent option from the look of things. The staff at MMG is excellent and the place is extremely clean for being a large kid play place. This goes a long way to make your trip with your kids easier and healthier as an environment. At $8, the price is fair enough and while the course itself is nothing to write home about, the overall time you can have here with your children on a sunny day or rainy day is exponentially better. read more

Lots of fun. Went there with my son and between a round of golf for him and some ticket games we spent only $10. Great for kids 7 and up. Some of the statues may be a little intense for kids who are super sensitive about monsters, but all-in-all a very kid friendly place. The music is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 I was ready to Guage my eyes out lol. If you want to avoid a line of people who can't golf in front of you waiting to get to the next hole go during the week less crowded and usually have ro place to yourself. Fun place, good for families. But please don't bring your 4 year old. They are not ready for mini golf, lol. I had to watch some kid cry hysterically for 5 minutes while the dad attempted to figure out what the heck to do. The scary drawings on the wall were cute. There is an arcade there too if you want to play some games after mini golf. My complaint about this place is each hole is too close to the next one. So if you finish your hole before the group in front of you, there's not really any space for you to move out of the way of the group behind you. It's like the Chuck E Cheese of mini-golf, though less crowded and much cleaner. They did a very good job with a child birthday party. The enthusiastic staff pretty much took care of everything, including set-up serving and clean-up. They even provided an ice cream cake for the birthday boy and favor bags for the exiting kids. The kids enjoyed a round of mini-golf in the haunted house, black light decorated course that was cool and not too scary. The kids didn't play real mini golf, nor did they seem quite interested. The staff more or less herded them threw the course, with a few pauses to celebrate the birthday boy. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they got a touch of mini golf without taking too long a time period so they never got bored or restless. After golf, the kids enjoyed a pizza party (delivered from an outside pizzeria) served by the staff, along with singing and cake. After eats, the kids were given arcade cards to play all sorts of arcade games, ski ball, hoops, etc, all redeemable for tickets exchangeable for your typical midgrade prizes that kids seem to love for some inexplicable reason. Negatives: The time period was not too long, and the kids were optioned to have their cards could have value added for additional fees. A couple of adults (there were not too many) were supervising a younger party guest. They were told that they could watch, but if they wanted to play a round of golf themselves they'd have to pay for the round out of their own pockets. This kind of nickle and diming is shameful and left me with a foul taste in my mouth, despite the other positives of the party. Considering the amount they charged for this party, they certainly could have allowed a few adults to play, as a premium was paid to have the party before business hours, essentially leaving the venue to be a private party exclusive to to party guests. read more

Lot's of fun! I came here with my Mom and Nephew who was visiting from Puerto Rico and we had a great time. The staff is super friendly and the glow in the dark feature of the place is awesome. What a cool place! I've driven past the sign countless times and last weekend made the weekend drive to do something different. With winter dragging on and on, I figured I wouldn't be alone. The space is really cool looking. You get used to the dark and fluorescents pretty quickly. It's odd how the holes kinda run into each other, but it was a non-issue for us because it really wasn't that crowded. We never felt rushed and never had to wait to play a hole even though there was a group ahead of us the whole time. Course was a little tougher than I would have imagined for something so obviously geared towards kids and bday parties. Not complaining, just saying. We passed on the arcade games. My boyfriend and I frequently seek out new mini golf places. We usually go to the monster mini golf in Edison but we're in the area so decided to check this one out. Can I just say that the layout of this place is crazy. It seems to me that whoever designed the course thought they had less room than is actually there. The course starts off with small winding roads and by the time you get to end holes there is so much room you almost can't see where you're hitting it to. Now I am obviously not professional golf player nor do I claim to be good at the game but it almost seems impossible to get a fair score. For me it takes the fun of being there. Since kids don't care about scores as much as I do, its a good place to go because the decorations are spot on. Lots of characters and drawing on the wall. The place itself is really cool looking. Big Monster Golf Fan here. We have been going to Monster golf for the past two years very ofter. As a parent with a 5 year old you always want to find something to do to keep them busy. The temperature is always nice and it never rains since everything is inside. It is worth going every couple months if you like the place since they rotate the decorations and mix things up a bit. Granted the course is not very complex, but it is cute. I also had my sons birthday last year here and they did a great job. Prices are very reasonable and they let the birthday person put thier handprint on the wall. The only complaint is that people play way to slow and think they are Tiger Woods (Without the multiple girlfriends). When everyone gets backed up behind one group of people who are playing 'pro' there is no place to wait and sometimes hard to control the kids. read more

My husband and I love MG. We bought the 3 month passes and go once every week or two just for fun. The course is pretty challenging compared to our local outdoor course and the small arcade area is well maintained and reminds us of the Shore. If you go during the week no one is there. They should update the holes from time to time so that people want to come back to try new things, and should have some more tricks up their sleeve with the holes. It's getting a little stale. It's 8 bucks a head, and they constantly give out buy one get one coupons, which makes it 8 bucks for two people. I recently had 170 High School band kids and 3 hours to kill on a Friday night in Fairfield. I found Monster Mini Golf and it was a highlight of our entire trip. Nick the manager was crazy helpful in setting everything up for us, helping me sort out how to feed everyone (Hollywood Pizzeria & Nick had 70 pizzas ready and waiting for us as we walked in the door). But the best part is the kids HAD A BLAST! Every last one of them played a round or 2 of mini golf, hit the arcade, and sat in the super-comfy party room & hung out eating. I got many thank-yous from the kids later for taking them there. The evening and experience simply could not have been any better. Very clean, very nice, and very well run. Just had a school fundraiser event there. Kids got to play a round of golf, got an arcade card and they handled the pizza and drinks. They had plenty of staff to accommodate a big group like ours. They were very good with the kids and made it a fun event for all. Great private rooms in back for all to eat and to place your stuff so you can enjoy the venue. read more

This is a very cute idea, and definitely a lot of fun! The first time we went it had been raining and the outdoor mini golf down the road was closed. We decided to try this but I was expecting our 4 year old to be too afraid. Instead, all he talks about is the spooky golf place and how much fun it is. Whether or not it is scary really would depend on the child, but it is dark and there are some things that move and make spooky sounds. The course is tight and when it is busy it can back up. This has really only been an issue when there is a birthday party though, so if you are in a rush or something I'd just call and ask if there are any parties. The price isn't bad for what it is. There is a little arcade area as well, but that is a bit pricier in my opinion so I try to walk past quickly before I can be asked about playing. In all, it's a lot of fun for everyone. I really don't have a reason to NOT give 5 stars, but I really can't think of reason TO give 5 stars either. I had a fun time with a few friends, they do have specials during the week. For example I think Wednesday is team pride day, if you wear a shirt or jersey of your favorite team, you get 10% off. They have an indoor and outdoor course, the indoor is black light/day glow. They have a little arcade inside as well, but you could only play with tokens...I always hated when arcades did that when I was a kid, and I still hate it as an adult!! They have skill games too: skee-ball, a basketball hoop, air hockey, etc and many of the machines give out tickets that you can redeem for prizes. Cool place. The putt-putt is easy but I am an excellent golfer so every putt-putt is no prob for me. The monsters are hella dope but bc I wanted to get six holesin 1 I didnt look at all of them so i had concerntraton.
