    La Jolla with grilled chicken
    Manal C.

What a great addition to crystal city!! I've heard a lot about this place and I was so glad to hear they opened a new location in Arlington. We got to try the La Jolla burrito with grilled chicken and it was a 10/10! The burrito also came with a salsa verde on the side, which was the perfect addition and completed it. On top of the great food and the service was amazing! Highly recommend! I definitely will be back for some breakfast items!

Traveled out here on a Sunday afternoon expecting a line and a wait and a line and a wait I did find. We waited around 15-20 minutes in line - you'd think people who waited in front of you would be ready to order when they got to the front but alas people were not. It didn't help that they were out of a decent amount of stuff around noon - no barbacoa, no coffee, etc, most of their sandwiches crossed out too. The guy taking orders was funny but a bit chatty, and I think having two people taking orders at busy times could at least speed up that line. Ordered myself a Santa Barbra burrito - I wanted barbacoa but they were out so I opted for grilled chicken. I waited probably about 30-35 minutes for my order to come out. No biggie on a nice day but keep this in mind - probably took close to an hour for me to order then receive my food then eat and this was at noon, the line kept getting longer later. They call out your name so you do need to stay somewhat close - I get they may not be able to do a texting your order is ready system but I think that could benefit to make things quicker so the staff doesn't have to leave to yell out orders. The food was very tasty - the guacamole and the tortilla itself were so simple yet so good, that made the trip out alone worth it. Grilled chicken was way better than expected but I did not feel too many fried jalapenos. The fries were plentiful though on a less busy day, I might ask for them to be slightly crispier. Overall, the burrito was slightly small for $18 but 5/5 in flavor. The side smoked salsa was absolutely heavenly - get at least 2 if you can. Would come back again - they are new and I'm sure working out a few kinks. Solid spot, be patient, and get extra side salsa.

I sat on the booth side by the wall and was not near an outlet. It was quite chilly even though it wasn't sweltering outside, so I'm glad I brought a jean jacket. Music was playing but it wasn't too loud. Stayed for a couple of hours. There was plenty of foot traffic but not enough to be disruptive. There was one restroom, which was clean. The baristas were pleasant as they helped other customers. I was going to order seltzer water, but they had it on tap (along with plain water) so it was free. I also ordered an iced tea to support the establishment. It was refreshing and I didn't even add anything to make it sweet. I would return here to work if I needed to, especially because I like the area (even though parking is mostly paid street spots), but plan on continuing my quest for the perfect coffee shop/remote work vibe.

Who knew that there would be a cafe in Pentagon City with this option? The interior is a bit cramped with many cardboard boxes piling up. We were able to order the food at the counter and waited about 5-10 minutes before the food was ready. BRAISED PORK OVER RICE (卤肉饭) - 15.49 Lots of rice, more rice than I could finish with the amount of braised pork belly they give. The pork was very fatty, which made it tasty and juicy, but it wasn't very saucy. There were two halves of a bokchoy and half of an incredibly boiled egg, which was meh. Still, I finished all the toppings and maybe a little less than half of the rice. I was full, but $15.49 for the food was not worth it. Overall, 3.5/5 but bump it to a 4/5 since there's a scarcity of food like this in the area. They sell other comfort Asian dishes too, like coconut chicken cutlet rice and Japanese eel rice.

With an impressively high Yelp rating, I was disappointed to hear the new owners say the glowing reviews are from the previous owner (though I respect the honesty). Despite that, we really enjoyed our visit. The new owners live up to the legacy. First of all, the service is excellent. An older man makes the food and who I assume is his daughter takes the orders. Both are kind. At the end, she gave my daughter a granola bar for free. The menu is a mix of Korean food and the small market in the back sells Korean products and more. It's very fun to browse and pick up some snacks and treats. My daughter loved the juicy grape fruit snacks. To eat, we ordered the Japanese curry and milk tea. Both were full of flavor and made with love. "This is my new favorite meal of all time," said my daughter. She devoured the bowl herself! There's a small parking lot in front of the cafe. It's within walking distance from the Crystal City Metro.

The Pride decorations made me smile because despite all the noise, people are still showing up for community, inclusion, and joy. Turns out diversity isn't scary--unless you're a croqueta at my table. Those things disappeared fast. In a city that can feel especially heavy these days, this place felt like a breath of fresh air. He gave it a 9/10, and I'd have to agree, it was delicious and the perfect treat to enjoy while walking around the pier. One thing to note is that prices are definitely on the higher side. I noticed the avocado toast was around $18, and while it looked nice, it didn't seem particularly special for the price.
