    Milk Cake sooo good
    Vonnie J.

I love this place. Quite place to have a cup of coffee with a sandwich or pastry. I have always had excellent service and the food is really good. The menu is short, but I think every taste bud will be satisfied. Love the coffee, however tonight I took my order to go. I am having Milk Cake, my first time trying it and it will not be my last. The cake reminds me of tirimasu. It is very light and not to sweat, very enjoyable. If you just want to have some quiet time and a light meal or snack this is the place your looking for. Vj yelping out.

Spanish Latte and Chicken Chorizo Sandwich all day

Stopped by here for a breakfast and it was a nice time! Ordering is via iPad and this allows for endless customization. I ordered a Spanish latte and a chicken chorizo sandwich. This place was decently busy but there were a few places still open so I grabbed a table number and headed to a table. It's a bit strange that even though you grab a number they still have you come to the counter to pick up your food and drink. But my order was ready super fast. The latte was perfection. The Spanish latte is super creamy without being too sweet. I had mixed feelings about the sandwich. The bread is so thick that it's hard to eat but the chicken chorizo, sauce, and cheese were really tasty. If the crust wasn't so overwhelming I think it could've been great.

Cool spot, helpful staff, good matcha and a nice vibe. I like the location as well, convenient to the metro and parking is accessible.

No crazy latte art, just amazing coffee. The Spanish latte (latte with sweetened condensed milk) is perfectly sweet and beautifully balanced. The self ordering kiosks can cause the wait to be longer than one would like but the folks behind the counter are fast and precise. It's always crowded but plenty of seating outside if you're looking to sit down. I'm in town for just a few days but have gone every morning because it's just that good.

Came in Friday afternoon first time visiting this shop. Great recommendations on food and coffee, service was excellent and overall ambiance of the place was chill quiet and comfortable. Great background music as well! A little light on outlets for laptops, and they have free WiFi ! Parking isn't free and is paid via meter our mall parking garage.

Counter-service coffee shop where you order on tables at the front Have a small array of pastries + a solid selection of food & drinks The space is cozy, but the seats are not super comfortable My GF and I each got lattes, and we split both a BEC breakfast sandwich and a "croissant French toast". The drinks were great, and the food was very good as well, but the biscuit that the BEC was served on completely fell apart when we tried to pick it up to eat it

Probably the best cold brew I've ever had. Delicious breakfast! Loved the Mediterranean Scrambled eggs, hubby loved the Huevos Rancheros and of course, we got breakfast dessert, the croissant french toast. Loved everything! Service was quick and friendly. We opted to eat outside since it was packed but enjoyed it!

The food tasted really good and came out fresh. Coffee was a little bitter and not as fresh. Various types of eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was spot on, not too lemony or over-powering. It is a little pricey, but worth it I would say.

I came here this morning on a whim before I left the DC area. I was not disappointed. The cafe is tucked away but it is in such a nice little area with outdoor seating. The inside is not too loud -- a good place to get breakfast with friends or get some work done. It's not silent by any means so a virtual meeting would be pretty hard. I got the blueberry pancakes and the barista suggested the Spanish latte. Both were delicious. The latte was not too sweet, but still a little sweeter than I prefer (I drink plain lattes for reference tho). The barista also served me my food and he was so kind. I didn't get his name but he was super sweet (and cute ;)) Anyways, a good morning in at Origin!! **bonus -- bacon on the side was so good!!!

Yum! I'm rarely in this part of town and I've never hopped over to the storefronts behind Pentagon City Mall, but I was in the neighborhood with free time and was in search of good coffee. I was happy to end up here for a hot vanilla latte. There were lots of seating options and most tables were open when I went on a Wednesday afternoon. The milk was foamed expertly and the espresso was standard if not slightly mild. There was a bunch of baked goods behind the counter, but I wasn't sure how to order them since I couldn't find them in the ordering tablet. I was a tad confused since there was no one assisting with orders, that's the only reason for the 4-star review. Always happy to support a local coffee shop. Would return if I was in the neighborhood!

This place is good for the morning coffee and small breakfast in this "restaurant row" location. The other restaurants open at 11am so this place slows down their business (coffee, smoothies, breakfast, cakes, etc.) around that time. GPS was not helpful so we called the business for better details on how to find them. We are not from the area and it was a bit confusing. The lady who answered the phone was helpful and we found our way there. We ordered a frappe, americano, and the Mediterranean Omelette/Egg Scramble. Drinks were very well made. The breakfast was also very well made. The breakfast was a bit smaller in portion size than what we are used to for the price. Still, tasted great and came with a warm and small fresh biscuit loaf. The staff were very kind and professional. They helped us with the ordering process on the POS Machine. There is an option in the beginning of the order where you must choose dining in or take out. The staff helped us with that, patiently. Great outside scenery and nice seating options in the courtyard.

Delicious food that's presented well in a lovely atmosphere! First time I had the Crab Benedict I was delighted to find that the potatoes were perfectly crispy and piping hot. I also love the juicy pop of the cherry tomatoes. This is high quality food! The croissant French toast was very nicely layered and I love that they used freshly made blueberry compote and paired it with fresh berries as well. Service was friendly and quick though you do order on a kiosk. I'd love to try their coffee and pastries next time.

Every time I am in the DMV area I need to stop here! Their coffee is phenomenal. I definitely recommend the Spanish latte. If you haven't tried it, it has condensed milk in it. I usually get it with oat milk and add a little bit of caramel and it's a perfect sweetness, but also a beautiful blended coffee! They have two coffee beans to choose from which is really fun. The only thing I don't truly like is that you can't order with a person they have the iPads out and you order there. However, if you have any questions while you're ordering, they're right there standing there and you can wave them down and they're gladly always able to answer your questions! They have a full kitchen, their food menu is beautiful and their food is always delicious! But please do not skip out on the coffee. The inside is great, lots of seating they allow you to use your computer in there, which is nice if you have work to do. They also have an outdoor seating. The area where the coffee shop is located is amazing! And it's just a really nice place to be because the people are so nice to work there.

Is this a good coffee shop to sit and work in?

Yes! I've sat down and worked here before. There's plenty of table space and outlets when it's not too busy.

Is dine in open for weekday breakfast? Checking the menu online and it makes it seem like they only have takeout. Can anyone confirm?

Hey Ben … yes we are open for dine in all week. See you soon !

Bright and open with an integrated coffee bar, the noise level is better than most. Table settings are beautiful with fresh flowers. The food, though, is outstanding. We were there for brunch on a Saturday. We shared the skillet cornbread and deviled eggs and agreed they were excellent, but the deviled eggs were top-notch. For entrees we had a brisket bennie, brisket hash, and fried chicken and biscuits. Everyone said their dish was the best dish. I had the fried chicken - just the right honey and heat, and the biscuits were fluffy, buttery heaven. We were stuffed but Jorge and Matt (one of the owners) dropped off a complimentary order of apple donuts with raspberry jam. I shouldn't be surprised but the chunks of real apple in the donuts - wow. I don't know how they serve food this good in a location this beautiful and such reasonable prices. I guarantee, though, we'll be back for dinner and be regular customers in the future.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.
