Wonderful little Mexican spot!! What I will say as a gluten free person is they were immediately very knowledgable about what had gluten (including the sauces) which always makes me feel incredibly safe and comfortable as a GF diner. The service was wonderful from this perspective and in general. I got loaded nachos, and they were delicious! I think I ate them so fast that I didn't have time to take a good photo- lol. To see a location open just blocks away from my place meant a visit to see how this location stacked up. I ordered a Cowboy and Chorizo burrito, both very fulfilling and satisfying. I was surprised to see so many different varieties and options on the menu. Previously my Anita's experiences consisted of catered trays of plan breakfast burritos. I have had quite a few Anita's burritos catered, so I thought I'd try going to an actual location. This location is located near Virginia Square metro. We visited on a Saturday morning and finding street parking was very easy. We were sat right away and were given chips and salsa. I ordered two chorizo burritos. I usually love their burritos, but this time they were okay. They were a bit lukewarm, I wished they were served warmer. I'll still be eating Anita's burritos any chance I get, but I found them to be better as catered versus going to the actual restaurant. read more

I love this place! And so happy to see this new location across from my job. I have been a fan of Anita's and coming to their location for years. This family owned establishment offers some of the best Mexican cuisine and Tex-Mex eats around the DMV. The food is always fresh and the portions-prices are fair. Also, another key point is that the food here is well seasoned and authentic. My go to items include the Chimichangas, Huevos Rancheros (Christmas style or just red sauce), Chile Rellenos (a godly delicacy), and Posole. I say this, but I like just about everything on the menu. By the way, Christmas style means that you want both the red and green chili sauce. Just holler out the word "Christmas" and they got you covered. Lol They have great lunch deals as well, between the hours of 11 AM and 4 PM, where you can get a full menu of items from tacos to enchiladas, salads and burritos. There is a combo, beef and chicken chimichanga special that is killer! It is one of my favorite lunch items when ordering from here. The chimichanga is crispy and lightly, deep-fried to perfection. The meats pilled into the chimichangas are so seasoned, tender, and flavorful. Not to mention, the combination of the fried chimichanga covered in a bath of cheesy red chilies sauce is outstanding! I highly recommend you try this dish. In all, Anita's gets two thumbs up from me! You can't go wrong with this place. The food is delicious and the service is excellent--super friendly. The lunch/dinner menu is great and they has plenty of options (including vegetarian) for you to choose from. They even serve breakfast items which are just as delicious. read more

When I lived in Virginia, I would go to Anita's and grab 10-15 burritos for me and my coworkers. This place is absolutely amazing, I live in Texas, and lived in San Diego. I've driven through almost every other state. I can honestly say without hesitation, there is no better breakfast burrito ANYWHERE!!!! When work was sending me to Virginia, I made sure to make time for Anita's. I knew it wouldn't disappoint. Our waitress was super friendly and helped me improve my horrible Spanish. She was super sweet, friendly, and attentive. This restaurant looked brand new, it was very clean. I love to see Anita's doing so well. I can't sing their praises enough. Make sure to ask for the hatch chili in your breakfast burrito!! read more

We decided to stop in for some breakfast burrito take out. It was a smaller place but there was some seating and looked like all the tables had chips and salsa so I am assuming that would be free if you ate in. I got the chorizo burrito. They are like the size of a half burrito, but it is hefty and the food itself was good. I would go back and sit down for some lunch or dinner in the future. read more

Ordered some breakfast burritos to take out this morning and I have to say I'm so glad this place opened up here! Got the bb special and the sausage burrito with refried beans instead of potatoes. The bb special was only $3 and the sausage was $4.5. super worth it for a hefty little burrito. The bb special had a lot of egg and a couple pieces of potato in it, while the sausage one didn't have a ton of sausage but the refried beans made it really good. I also loved the salsa it came with, I used all of mine up! Service was super friendly, everyone is so nice at the front. They helped me immediately upon entry. The restaurant is casual seeming, like a diner. I would definitely come back for a casual lunch or dinner and try some of their entrees. read more

So I've had three meals from Anita's since they opened on Fairfax drive and I'm super thrilled they're in the neighborhood. I've become a big fan of their crunchy tacos which are less than $4 a piece. Fabulous price for Arlington! You can get delivery via DoorDash, but it is just two blocks from the Metro or they're always seems to be parking on either North Fairfax or N Kansas St. The food is very fresh, very friendly staff. Kind of small on the inside, but outdoor seating. They do have breakfast all day as well as New Mexico style Mexican food. Definitely a thumbs up. read more

I was excited to hear that there was an Anita's in Arlington as I've heard a lot about their other locations from friends. We ordered the guacamole and jumbo veggie platter. Both tasted good and the veggie platter is very jumbo so you will definitely get a lot of food. The chips and guacamole were also good. I however was not a huge fan of the complimentary salsa that comes with the chips. I felt like it was very watery and didn't have much flavor. However the actual entrees and appetizers were still good so I would recommend. The place was pretty busy when I went on a Friday night, but we were able to be seated without a reservation too. Very good food at great value. They've got take-out down. Food is ready by the time they promise it.

I had the chicken enchiladas and my friend had veggie fajitas. The enchiladas were smothered in sauce and cheese and came with a side of rice and beans. I liked everything but I wish the rice was softer. It had an undercooked bite to it. My friend's fajitas came with a side of salsa and sour cream and tacos. The total came to about $40 plus tip. Service was quick and efficient. They have outside seating that's dog friendly. A good option for students and people in the area. read more

Great new location with the same friendly and fast service that Anitas is known for. The outdoor setup is really comfortable, inside looks like it's more equipped for take out orders, might be a hidden dining room in there I didn't see. We didn't get chips and salsa which was weird but the appetizers came out in leas than 5 minutes so it didn't really matter. Everything here is so good! Look forward to coming back soon! read more

This is a new location for this restaurant I remember when they were just one restaurant back in the early 90s and Vienna Virginia so I've been going there for years to this company the food is always good and as of my schedule now this location is a lot more convenient to me I've been there three times since they've opened up and I'm going to go back to every time read more

Service can be hit or miss. With often more servers on shift than customers, either everyone is trying to help or no one at all is trying to assist you. Both instances are annoying. You may also find that training new people is more of a priority at Anita's than preparing your drink or taking your order. I've visited a few times with co-workers for happy hour with mixed results. The Anitarita is pretty good. We were charged the happy hour price for it one day, but when we ordered it again the charge was the full price. We were told that it is not on happy hour. Not sure which is true. I'll give them time to decide which it is, while spending happy hour elsewhere. For a business that touts 50 years in business, opening the Arlington restaurant should be way smoother. read more

So glad Anita's is finally in Arlington! We are long-time customers at their other locations and thankful that we no longer have to drive for their delicious food. We enjoyed enchiladas and burritos with a side of chips, salsa, and queso. Food came out very fast and was amazing. Love the New Mexico flavor! We dined on the patio and service was perfect: wait staff were lovely and obviously well trained. Prices are reasonable and Anita's offers specials for early diners. We are also super interested in their catering: prices seem great and would be perfect for a family takeout meal. Highly recommend! read more
