I have to say the coffee and the pastries taste really good. The attitude of some of the staff doesn't work for me though. We were told this morning that we are not allowed to walk in with coffee from another coffee shop. What? We're a family of 4 and if someone likes coffee or pastries from another shop, or has certain allergies that you guys can't provide us food for, that's a joke. Are you afraid of your competition? We came 3 times in two days and we were on vacation and tried some places. I personally liked your pastries and the coffee but others liked other places. Do you honestly think that I leave the family outside because the hold a coffee from the shop of the other side of the street? But don't worry, I won't bother you guys again having us walking in with other coffee than yours. Your shop, your rules. My money, my decision to not support you guys. read more

I most definitely fell hard for MCT, as is evidenced by 2 visits within 24 hours ( different locations). Whitefish is the most charmed town, full of beautiful sights, and the mountain air..MMMM!! Tried to see the Northern Lights, but a fail on that. The espresso drinks are mightily prepared, with attention o detail lucky to nab one of the two tables available outside in front, I happened to meet the nicest Boalt grad who is over on the Peninsula. She was biking her way up to Alberta, whereas I was leisurely driving in an XLE SUV, and staying at a resort! So fit, so amaze balls, small world ! read more

Our go-to spot to grab a coffee before heading into Glacier National Park everyday. Baristas were very friendly and service was quick. Highly recommend grabbing a scone (or two) alongside their cold brew. If you go later in the day, they sometimes offer a 2 for 1 deal with the pastries. Very busy breakfast spot, and within good reason! It was really good breakfast, we visited both days we were in Whitefish. I stayed with the same order, though I should of tried something else. The potatoes were great! The customer service was great, beware of a lengthy line, but this will assure great food, I promise. Such a cute coffee shop! We came here every morning when we were in town. They have a few plant based milk options-- I believe oat milk and almond milk, maybe one more. I highly recommend the oat milk! Also love all of their little souvenirs, particularly their stickers. Great place to grab a gift if you are in from out of town. They have plenty of seating and prices are comparable to most coffee shops. I definitely will be back if I return to Whitefish. read more

Stopped by here twice while staying at Whitefish resort. Great coffee...better than the "diner" coffee from buffalo cafe... Love that this is within walking of a lot of cute stores and other restaurants. On the way out of Whitefish, stopped here for breakfast to go....got the Farm to Market Bocadillo while my bf got the Ranchero.....absolutely yummy! Fresh, organic, delicious food and coffee! You walk in and the atmosphere is homey and inviting. Can buy coffee beans there and other items that may tickle your fancy when walking around and looking on the shelves from books, to teas, to other interesting kitchen items. Great place for reading and free wifi! Only drawback....only one bathroom for females/males....there was a line (as always) for the females, so jumped into the males when no one was looking.... A must for a great cup o joe and breakfast! read more

I'm from Seattle where we are known for our great coffee and consider myself pretty picky. I loved the mocha that I ordered (came here two mornings in a row); it's hard to get that bold chocolate and coffee balance but theirs was perfect! This cafe is huge and has a lot of cute drinkware. I had to get a stainless steel tumbler and one of our drinks was free with purchase of a mug/tumbler. Staff are super friendly and one directed me to where I could find the nearest recycling bins. read more

This company should not be supported. They are a far cry from Montanans. They quickly sued a truly local Montana coffee company for the name Glacier. The other company had no time to gather legal support before MCT required payment of $20k! A simple phone call would have been enough. They chose a terrible and unnecessary way of communication. I have been drinking this coffee since 1998 when I first went to Montana, I used to order over the phone and then they opened their on-line store...they offered coffee bucks which were like loyalty points...worked fabulous for many years...now they have a new website and no more perks (unless you count the ridiculous 10% off 5lb bags) what about those of us who like to drink different kinds of coffee aso we only buy the 12OZ bags...we now get nothing. I am sorry but this is just bad sales and marketing...if something not broken, why fix it? Unfortunately you have lost a customer of 25 yrs...oh and they don't even offer free shipping. Coming out of Glacier National Park, we felt so fortunate that this cafe was open on Fourth of July - the food really hit the spot! Everything we ate was quite tasty, and a good size for the price. We decided to split a sandwich and a salad, so picked the pulled pork sandwich and the Asian chicken salad. The pulled pork sandwich was on a toasted bun, so the crunch of the bread added some great texture to the sandwich. The meat itself was a perfect balance of sweet and salty! The sandwich came with a side so we went with the daily soup, the corn chowder. The coleslaw that came with the pulled pork sandwich was fresh, and I believe made with Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise. The Asian chicken salad was also yummy!! It had pineapple for sweetness, thick fried wonton wrappers, and some freshly cooked chicken with a lot of pepper on it. I liked that the dressing was automatically put on the side so that the customer could decide how much dressing to add. Something I think is confusing is that the cafe also has some "to-go" packed salads at the beginning of the line with their baked goods, so when I ordered the salad, that's what I thought I was getting. I was extremely pleased to learn that the salad was made fresh and the chicken had just been cooked. read more

After a great visit in whitefish, my sister insisted on stopping here this morning to grab a bite to take with her on her 4 hour flight. I warned her that this place is social club for the employees first and foremost and the service is terrible....Also the bakery is stale and overpriced.. oh well she had to try it...20 minutes later she ran back to my car with no quiche (that she paid for) worried she would not make her flight. Whitefish has become a truly special place as the gateway to Glacier National Park in our 48th and fourth largest state. Fantastic skiing, water sports, mountain biking, and microbreweries all inhibit this great little town. And by all means, don't leave coffee house/roasters off the list. One of the surest signs of a truly well run business is the line of customers out the door. You don't see it as much as you used to so get ready for a treat at MCT. The line doesn't literally go out the door due to the configuration inside but the place is hopping with speed and efficiency. The line might be long but the wait isn't. And the great thing about the wait is you get to look around at all of the great coffee, the amazing sticker collections for purchase (pick up a couple for your back window for bragging rights on your trip to MT). I picked up a dozen unique stickers and the COOLEST coffee mug that looks like a cheerleader megaphone and says Yah Coffee on it. Plus they filled it with some incredibly tasty coffee; dark and hot! Grab your coffee and wander off to the connected western store next door. The vibe in this little town can't be beat, especially with a cup of delicious coffee from Montana Coffee Traders. read more

I stopped by here this past week with my wife and her parents for our morning coffee. It was our first morning in Whitefish and while I can't tell you why, something about the Montana Coffee Traders stood out to me. The inside of this place was interesting as it had a shop with some eclectic items including a box of plush Pusheens (one of my wife's favorites). There was also a long line for the coffee which I would later understand after trying mine. On this day I decided to get my usual large Americano and then added in an extra shot. It ended up being really good as it was super strong and really rich. As a matter of a fact I think that this was my favorite coffee of all of the 10 or so coffee shops that I tried while in MT. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I loved the coffee and also enjoyed the randomness of the shop they had inside their building. read more
