Patient care is pretty bad here. I was only here for 2 weeks (this time) but saw 3 people fall from their beds to the floor and the cna's continued to walk past them. One nurse needed help putting a large man back in bed and they had to wait for the cna to finish trash b4 getting her help. I was floored. I'm just grateful I wasn't bed bound this 2nd stay here. I was in 2019 during my first stay here. That time was 6 weeks I believe. I did have a nurse who made me cry and then laughed about it. No idea why he did not like me. Do NOT let your loved one stay here, specially if they can't speak for themselves. Everytime I arrived my father was soiled with 1&2, he was fed by a feeding tube so he liquified a lot. One day I arrived to find stomache contents all down his chin and front of chest, it was all dried on, this was at 3pm, when I asked the nurse how long this had been on him and he said since morning, I said ok let me clean it off, so I did. Everything my father has in his mouth goes into his lungs, so the fact he was aspirating was dangerous. Everytime, I arrived dad was being fed, that being the case he was being overfed. I checked dad when I arrived at 3, told the nurses he was soiled with both and no one came in to change him, I would have at this point but there was no changing stuff around. I left at 5:30, still not changed, I told the nurse I'm taking my daughter to dinner I hope dad will be change b4 I get back. I arrive at 7:30 and they were just changing him. They also were putting him on a c-pap machine with his oxygen because the test came back he had pneumonia. Yes, he had pneumonia because he aspirated into his lungs and was struggling to breathe, I wish I had said take him to the hospital right away, but I hadn't put 2 and 2 together yet. I went home and got a call later that night he was dead and they were doing cpr. He aspirated because they were feeding him too much, it was running every hour I went there and it shouldn't have been. I'm convinced he was throwing up because he was being over fed. Everyone knew he couldn't have anything orally and knowing this, they should have clued into that and sent him back to hospitalthat day. My entire family feels they killed our father. I do have to chime in on the smell of the place, it was horrible, so busy, patients blocking hallways in wheel chairs and the first room dad was in down stairs was super dark, just shoved in there and I told them he was a stroke patient and needs light and stimulation, they get kuddos for moving him upstairs right way in a more lighted area. This is not a place for people that need to be looked in on. All the times I was there except for first time, they came within 2 hours of my arrival, but all other times no nurse ever came in unless I peeked my head out of room looking for something. There is one visitor chair for 2 patients. Everytime I went I had to search for a chair. Dad didn't have a side table, everytime a nurse came in they'd ask where it was. The IV stand had a missing wheel so it was lopsided. I had to stick it on the bed leg for it to stand up. Please, if you have any other choice do not take your family here! I get they are over worked and all but they also don't do their job correctly. My father should still be alive. Oh forgot to mention, they hadnt given dad his dailysis in 5 days, his blood pressure was too low, well they were giving him blood pressure medicine. He should have had dialysis. There was mass neglect. I even asked roommate how often they came in and he said they don't, unless I call them in. The alarms going off forever and ever, and no staff in sight! It was horrible and the smell was so terrible, I feel for those working there. I would Rate this place a zero but they get a 1 star because they moved my dad out of the smelly dungeon. read more

My husband had 3strokes and 2 heart attacks. Before he was sent to your hell hole! He was recovering or at least would react when spoken to and could follow directions. I was pushed into a conor and rushed into a major decision. So from like a vegas after being there over a month and improving. So from vegas to mesa arizona about 300 mile trip i went the next morning early arrived there around 9am. He was bleeding from his neck!! What happened, it could have been the move made injuries! How can this be.. anyway this place was a death sentence for him not a recover home! I would push the nurses call button and it would take sometimes a hour to respond! These nurses had 6 to o 20 patients per nurse.. he contuined to bleed blood clots through his breathing tube it was horrible! Finally I insisted they call 911!! Ty hey refused said I could call 911 if I wanted. What! What kind of hospital or nursing home would say this!! I freaked on them they left came back ok we called 911 we will take him to the hospital. My mother unfortunately was a patient at this house of horrors for over a month. To say this place was rancid would be an understatement. My mother stayed in a room near the end of the hall and as I walked to her room I could smell the stench of urine and feces but the absolute worst part is speaking with this vile woman who is one of the executives there. I had to deal with this woman the entire time my mother was there and could only handle texting her as speaking with her was too aggravating. When I hadn't heard from Montecito I called this woman and asked how my mother was doing. She told me she was discharged. This was sometime in early September. This horrible woman wouldn't tell me where my mother was discharged too and told me to contact my family, I am 1 of 3 sons. The 2 of us were her only immediate family members. The 2 of us were the only people who should know where my mother was at all times. . My mother died a few weeks later at a hospice and I never found out where she was to say goodbye. This year I will be looking into this working with various state and local agencies on Montecito withholding the location of where they discharged my mother too. After having family in and out for the last couple of months I am genuinely appalled by how these individuals treat not only the patients but eachother. Bringing family here I assumed basic care would be met but no, call lights at times going hours without being answered, nurses sitting there on their phones when having multiple call lights. And the way those individuals treat other workers is beyond my mind, no wonder the treatment is so bad. I would stay away unless you want to have your loved one mistreated and hear workers calling eachother w****s right outside of the room. Do not recommend. read more

my Dad was transferred here from a different care facility where he had fallen and broke his hip. the rehabilitation program was amazing. we were lucky to be able to transfer him here for the memory care program the staff here are amazing. the care he receives is excellwnt. the support they give the family is so appreciated it is so hard watching a loved one go through this. so we are extremely greatful for the staff here who are always patient and caring not only to the patients but to their family. they have been auch a blessing to us. My wife was transferred here from the hospital for PT rehab after colon surgery and bad nutrition. CRMC helped her gain 20lbs before transfer. When she got to Montecito, she lost 20lbs in the first week. They put in a PIC line and gave her supplemental nutrition. She developed a VERY bad diaper rash due to neglect changing her diaper. They are understaffed and overworked so they have bad attitudes and a don't care mentality. I had to constantly ask for her meds and diaper to be changed (even doing it myself). Don't bug the nurses during shift change. It's a 2 hour process and they're more worried about checking out and going home. The food is terrible, wouldn't serve it in a third world prison. She developed a blood infection sending her to the ER. Due to poor care and ER visit, we checked her out, rented a medical bed and brought her home. Within 4 days her rash was gone, got all the fluids out from the liquid nutrition, belly no longer distended, appetite returned, solid bowel movements, getting in home PT and doing 500% better. DO NOT take a loved one here, you're better off taking care of them at home. read more

*****Not even worth a RATING DOUBLE NEGATIVE****** Please,Please, beware of this place, DO NOT TAKE ANY OF YOUR LOVE ONES TO THIS PLACE. my mom was there for only 2 days, and we got her out so quick. they left my mother with her grown-up diaper full of pee, this place should be reported, they don't attend to the elderly people, especially if they don't speak. the walls are so thin, that if you lean against it the whole wall moves, mind you there are people on the 2nd floor, if Anyone that works for the state of AZ or works for mesa, please please go to the facility and see how these people are being treated or go to a room and just lean against the wall and see how the wall moves. I don't understand how this place has not been investigated by the health department. they also feed this people cold food, some people got fed pizza for lunch and for dinner. Please be advised this is a terrible place to take your loved one to. My mom had the misfortune to be at this horrible and disgusting place. They are neglectful, the food is disgusting and they are loud and the smell of this place is absolutely gross.. The bathroom was nasty and she had to share it with other patients. When you would press the call light It would take them forever to come to check on her if they even came at all. My mom accidentally dropped her tray and they never even came in to see if she was alright or what happened , when they finally came in the person said oh so this is where the noise came from like no big deal. She never seen a Dr I don't think they even had one. My family and I took shifts to go be with our mom to make sure she wouldn't be neglected or abused. We couldn't wait to get her out of the nightmare experience. They had other patients sitting in wheelchairs by the so called nurses station and they looked so sad and lost and alone they just sat there looking around. This place should not even exist! We would make sure my mom had her snacks and other things to eat plus we would bring her food. My mom was sleeping in this bed that was junk and it didn't even have a footboard on it she was a fall risk and they didn't even put a mat next to her bed we had to demand these items. After a boating accident causing a spinal cord injury (diagnosed as Central Cord Syndrome), three months in a rehab hospital, three surgeries, 2 titanium rods, 10 screws, a TACC line, a wound vac, and a catheter my husband started his stay at Montecito. During his stay, Morgan and the administration at the time made sure Rob had everything he needed. There are many many nurses and CNAs that helped Rob 24 hours a day but Michelle (Charge Nurse) and his all time favorite nurse Tony made sure his care (both mental and physical) were their top priority. Then came both the PT and OT teams!! Let's start with the Dynamic Duo (techs Britney and Courtney). We will never forget them helping a 6'4 300+ man into a Hoyer lift and transfer him into the beast of a wheelchair every day with smiles and laughter. Then came meeting Kyle and his staff who worked with Rob every day until he could stand with assistance and was working on rolling over. There were many adventures, laughter and missed steps in his journey but he couldn't be where he is today without this amazing group. The OT staff Jordan, Emily, and many others helped him gain confidence in using his hands and giving him knowledge that he will gain dexterity when he put in the work. It has now been almost 2 years since his accident and my husband has made huge gains! He's now standing by himself and walking short distances with canes and walker. Though the journey to a full recovery is still in the works, we know he wouldn't be as far as he is without the Montecito Team. read more

My mom was sent to Montecito for rehab. She was 93. Out of 13 days in this facility she got 2 , maybe 3 rehab sessions.  She was given meals,  but unable to cut them into appropriate size pieces..  she sent back 90 % of meals served to her. So no one ever noticed this patient was barely eating? So If she was weak , the lack of food was one reason. She lived on what we brought her, bouillon,  pudding, jello, mashed potatoes . She was left hours overnight (7 hours was longest, then 6 and 4 hours blocks also) being dirty and was released with a major bleeding, seeping diaper rash. The lack of overnight CARE AND SIMPLE CLEANING would gave made her last month much more comforted.....she was in agony the whole time at my home. A nurse for hospice referred to this rash as "criminal".... to say its neglect is not strong enough. read more

My mother stayed for one week to recover from a hospital stay and to regain her strength. We weren't aware that the rooms weren't private rooms, making it hard to recover in that environment when your roommate is violently sick. Mom is on a low fiber diet. They couldn't seem to get it correct, so she didn't eat that great. They would wake her in the middle of the night to give medication (one that could have been given during the day). She had 1 shower the entire time and never had her sheets changed. I walked past 3 empty boxes and a wood pallet in the hall on the second floor. I have no idea why it sat there for 5 days, plus it was dangerous. It's not the best environment to get healthy, that's for sure. It's a shame our seniors don't get quality care. read more

I am currently a resident unfortunately at Montecito Post acute care and rehabilitation. It is not good here. They don't care at all. I have been verbally abused and physically neglected. I have wounds from no shower and they lie and say they did. They skip and me mess up medication and serve not only horrible food but serve food that I am allergic to.Therapy is a joke if they come to see you at all. The state has been by multiple times to check on me but they just behave long enough for the state to leave. If you have the option, please don't come to this facility. My aunt is currently their ,trying to get her moved her frist day their she had to put her self from a gurney to her bed with no help,she asks for water didn't get any until the next day ,people yelling for help and the staff was playing running in the halls. Every single patient that goes to the hospital from this facility is immediately put on contact precautions because of the amount of infections and nasty diseases that the poor patients all have and spread. There is no other facility that requires all patients admitted to be immediately put on contact precautions. I have also seen some of the worst bedsores ever from this facility, ultimately leading to sepsis and causing the patient to pass away due to something that is very preventable.... It actually makes me really sad that human beings are treated with this level of neglect, I really do hope and pray that the management of this facility get it together and make some serious changes, or just shut the facility down. read more

Nim was my Dads case manager while he was at Montecito and he was amazing. He is a kind, professional, empathetic, saint. He was updating me on a daily basis regarding my Dads progress, including on his days off. Nim truly cares about his patients and goes above and beyond to make sure they are getting the care and attention needed during this difficult rehab time. The nurses are very attentive and super sweet. I felt that my Dad was surrounded by sweet nurses without any attitudes. It was a welcomed pleasure after his hospital stay. I was assigned to go here after the hospital. Apparently rehab beds are at a premium. It was already late when we arrived. First thing, they lied to us. My wife was planning to be with me to help my recovery, and to safeguard me if someone wants to do something counter to doctors' orders. There was no facility for her. She spent the next few hours in tears. First, they lied to us. Second, I didn't have a private room. Third, they only allow you to shower twice per week. I will return to those points momentarily. As I shot-off a 1-star review it appeared to me that the facility was run down. They don't have pharmacy so you have to have a special pharmacy order which may or may not go well. They are reliant on delivery of meds, and if yours aren't in the latest delivery then you're outta luck. The facility smelled badly. There was a lot of screaming. This just intensified my wife's tears. We had no choice, she had to leave me. I could see she felt so guilty even though this was in no way her fault. I eventually did get my meds, but it was many hours after I should have. My "roommate" was suffering, so I don't want that to sound harsh, but he moaned, screamed and cursed pretty much all night. He even screamed in his sleep. He couldn't get up on his own, and I could smell this polluting of the room. They left his TV on, so I couldn't even get that level of quiet. Randomly throughout the night a woman would cry "NURSE!". She also clearly was in distress, and I assume she found a nurse as she would be quiet for a while. There were at least three different carts running around all night, and I could tell by their squeaky wheels that it was at least three. To their credit, the staff in the morning helped get me processed out of there. I even had an occupational therapy visit before they let me go. The staff seemed to be very competent, from what I could tell. However i was so thoroughly exhausted after having gotten maybe 3 hours of sleep all night due to the moaning and screaming. The sleep deprivation left me a zoned-out zombie. It was very good my wife was there advocating for me. I am upgrading my rating to TWO stars because the staff was able to get me outta there, and did not let my imminent departure affect their checking on me. But you probably won't get a private room, so you will be sharing with others who are truly suffering. And screaming. You won't be able to get a shower frequently enough to wash the "feel" of the place from you (remember my roommate who couldn't get up to go to the bathroom?). The food is terrible. They claimed it was necessary to accommodate people on low-sodium diets, but the food in the hospital was much better (and it wasn't really anything special). And if you have an advocate looking out for you, there probably won't be anyplace for them. If you have another option, take it. If not, well the therapists did seem to know what they were doing. I understand it was a rehab facility with suffering people, but when you can't get more than maybe three hours of sleep per night that is a very real torture. read more

I would really like to give this place 0 stars, and I would except the food was pretty good. Other than that, I can't think of anything good to say about this place. For starters, I was taken there from Chandler Regional Medical Center, and when we arrived, no one from the staff came to the room with us to get me settled. The independent driver helped me into bed and even went so far as to get me an Oxygen Concentrator. Connie from the facility came by about 20 minutes later. From there it was all downhill. If you can help it, please do not subject your family to this facility and these people. As another example I give you this. I pressed the call button and after 30 minutes, a young man from Hospitality Serves? (17y.o. Maybe) came and asked what I needed, turned off the call light and said he would get a nurse. 45 minutes later still no nurse. The list goes on, Yes! I kept a diary. read more

Believe it or not, Yelp removed my review because they couldn't tell that I was the caregiver for my father and thought my review was a second hand experience. My father was there in 2017 and would have died according to the fire department . . . when I found him unresponsive. I think it is pretty clear I was there! Here is my review that they removed. 1. My father is on a feeding tube and cannot take anything by mouth. A nurse came in to give my father medication with a glass of water and a pill. She would have given it to him, had I not stopped it. 2. I called the nurse on Sunday morning around 10am. The nurse never called me until about 5pm yesterday. HOWEVER, when she called me back, she left a message telling me she was calling about "poole" which is NOT my father. 3. When I walked into his room on Sunday at about 6pm, his belly binder was laying on top of him. Keep in mind that, although significantly better, the reason for the binder is that he tends to pull things off. The only way for that belly binder to be off of him was for someone to take it off. I was very unhappy and told the staff to get it put back on him immediately. 4) On your website, there is a video showing nameplates of each patient outside the door. Really, they tape a piece of paper to the wall in front of the room. Easy to move and easy to make mistakes. 5) It seems that the staff is very confused on which nurse attends to which patient. In my father's case, his room was downstairs, but his nurse was typically upstairs. 6) The lady that came to set up the feeding tube on Friday looked at me and asked the volume. I told her I wasn't sure. I finally said I would go to the nurses station to see if I could find the documentation. There was a kid (I think an aide) that started going through his information, but really didn't know what he was looking for. My question is: How can someone come to set up a feeding tube without all the information needed? 7) On the front page of the information sheet, it said he was from the wrong hospital and his social security number is the first page in the notebook. I don't believe that patient's social security numbers are kept in a confidential place and, if there were questions, the wrong hospital was listed. 8) I asked to see the medication list on Saturday evening, so I can check it against what I thought he was transferred with. The woman that went through it with me said there were 35 pages. About 25 of the pages were mistakes. 9) On Saturday night, I went to my car to get the list of medications and there was a random person sitting in the dark in the lobby. He got up and told me he was waiting for an uber. I went to my car and a girl was in front of me going to meet him. The door was propped open. She was smoking pot. I was behind her. But am wondering why the doors are propped open at night and not secure. 10) My father was on a waffle mat at the hospital, because of a bedsore. When I walked in on Saturday night, he was in pain. None of the nursing staff had addressed his discomfort. The mattress had been changed but the waffle mat was missing. I started asking about it and they said the shift before had taken it and no one knew where it was. After two hours, I started getting more demanding and told them to find it. Then, I was told they needed an "order" for it. I told them the order was coming from me. They found it and got it under my dad. He was no longer in pain. My concern is that he was in pain when I got there and why was the pain not being attended to? 11) Cleanliness: 113 is where we started. There is something dripping down the wall, the floors are dirty, holes in the walls, the bathroom sink is pulling drywall away. Just overall, it is in disrepair. I am wondering when the cleaning crew/maintenance comes in and whether my dad can start with a clean room. 13) The nurse came in and said they wanted to increase one of the meds. Having been involved with the med and how it affects his other organs and blood pressure, I told them it didn't make sense. I do not want a PA that has no history to increase any dosages without a real doctor and I conferring and doing it over the phone. I read the nurses notes and it says she gave it to him, despite my telling her not to. I stayed in the room until 10:30pm that evening and the blood work never came back. The next day, I found out it actually came back at 9:30pm. 14) I pressed the "call" button Friday night. After 20 minutes, I went looking UPSTAIRS for the nurse and asked what is reasonable to get someone to respond. She said 15 - 20 minutes. I feel that if someone needs help, this is excessive. 15) Today (day 3) I decided to come to meet the therapy staff and walked in around 2:30pm. The kid (and friend) that share his room said my father has been throwing up (there was a plastic throw up dish next to him), he was slumped over and unresponsive. The waffle was gone again. Horrible response time when call button is pushed. My loved one laying in her own feces for over an hour or more before someone shows up. Theft is rampant and nothing is done about it. They lie and deceive you. No doctor. The place is filthy and the smell is horrible. Food also disgusting and I have to make and take food there for my wife. Rehab you may ask. Nope. Anything to make her feel better like getting her in a wheelchair and getting her outside. Nope. Her Tracheostomy and feeding tube needs to be removed but they will not do that either and they keep making up excuses and down right lie about taking it out. Oh did I mention how much they lie? Well they do and I catch them doing so often. My wife is strong and healing well after her stroke and ready to come home soon but she has had no therapy at all. I did catch pulmonary telling her that if she didn't keep the moisture mask over her trach she would die and I went ballistic telling them not to say that to her because it was a lie. Never saw either one of those people again. Basically this 0 star facility exists is to make money with no emphasis on the patients. There are alot of Montecito facilities. No matter who you talk to there its all the same and they all take up for each other no matter what. They don't care about what was stolen from us there and never asked if they could replace the items. There is more but I think I got the message through. My wife will get 100% better treatment here at home. Folks if you care about your loved ones keep them away from this care facility. read more

"Criminal" & "unconscionable" are the words used by the ER & hospital Dr when they saw my loved one after they were transferred from Montecito in far worse condition than when they arrived. Bedsores are no joke. They developed one while at Montecito & laying in their own filth certainly did not help. They also should have sent them to hospital much earlier on & disclosed EVERYTHING going on with them to the hospital. They apparently do not track bowl movements of bed ridden patients & my relative had at least a weeks worth of poop in them & could have died. If you have a shortage in staff then accept less patients! Their Covid protocols are a joke. Look up their statistics on this; they're sky high for the past year on Covid cases; far above the norm of other facilities. The wing is not in any way quarantined & same staff is roaming halls for regular section. Food was always cold & bland. Ended up bringing my relative their meals. I witnessed unkind behavior from staff towards other residents. If you don't care about your job then for God's sake get out of nursing! I did speak with Montecito about concerns but truly felt nothing landed or will change. read more

Never, and I mean never, send anyone here be it your loved one or worst enemy. I was admitted here after being discharged from the hospital after having surgery. I was on antibiotics four times a day. My first dose was missed because they didn't get it from the pharmacy, please don't take patients unless you are able to have their medicine when they arrive. Then my second dose was a hour late. Then my third dose was given to me 2.5 hours after I finally received my "first" dose. I had (at this point) still have a open incision, I was not given anything for my pain. I am a diabetic and the nurse randomly decided that even tho I take 40 units of long acting insulin twice a day she only wanted to give me 20 units because she thought I was taking too much. The hospital prescribed it, why would she question it. When I was fully awake I questioned it and she was more upset about her possibly getting in trouble. I was here a total of 16 hours, spoke to someone four times for a total of maybe 20 mins. I had to tell them I was there for wound care. I was there more than a hour after I was dropped off before I was even acknowledged. Like everyone else says, press the call light and it takes atleast 30 mins before someone shows up and says they will get the nurse and another hour after that if you're lucky the nurse will actually show up. My brother called me and I cried because I was afraid it was going to get worse. Before my brother and sister came and pulled me out I was waiting to talk to someone in charge and kept getting told different times the unit manager comes in. When my siblings did show up we just left, was told in the lobby I needed to sign something, as I am leaking discharge from a tunneling incision and they didn't have the paperwork. They seemed more concerned about me leaving with a PICC line in my arm over a patient leaving, but I guess when their main concern is having beds full over patient care my bed was probably already spoken for before I got back to the hospital. The place is unclean, feels like a mix of county and a mental hospital. Bathroom is a toilet and sink you share with three other people. I was not told about a shower, but according to other reviews you get one twice a week. If you have someone in here and have the ability pull them out. I have put a complaint into the AZDH and every time I have contact with this place after I left I let it be known I will not pay for the "services" I received and exactly why. read more

Was in here in 2021 and while not a great place I did get good care. This time this is a horror show. Had my left foot amputated. Have to stay here until the stump heals enough to have a prosthetic leg connected to the stump. I cannot walk at all. I can wait as long as 2 1/2 hours just to get the waste (shit) cleaned up. Yes they make me lay in my own waste for hours. 69 patients and 3 staff. Last 2 days they withheld my insulin. My blood sugar is over 500. It is supposed to be 100. This could be fatal. DO NOT ALLOW ANY LOVED ONE TO COME HERE. NOT EVEN YOUR DOG!!! read more

Our experience at Monticito for my father was horrible. Due to lack of attention he developed horrible bedsores that will require surgery. I shudder to think what would have happened if we had not been there every day advocating for him until we were able to get him moved to a facility where they actually did something to help him get stronger. The individual staff members were nice however my father had to share a room, which had a curtain drawn so he had no access to sunlight or air conditioning. The food was absolutely disgusting. If you love your family members, don't ever let them be put in this horrible place! read more

This place is the ultimate hell hole. It is dicrepit, aging, ugly. Also they are forcing me to share a room with another covid patient. Cross contamination and sharing the air space is ok for them which is counterintuitive, stupid, and unsafe. They are trying to make money by packing people in 1 room. I am getting out of this place today to end this horrible experience. I absolutely warn anybody with common sense to avoid this dumpy place. Can I leave 10 stars? What an amazing experience for my mom. We haven't had many good experiences with other facilities but we were blown away by the entire staff. Professional, attentive, kind and very compassionate. We felt heard as needs were addressed timely and thoroughly. I'd highly recommend Monticeto to any family. I am grateful for Montecito helping me transition our grandmother to hospice. My grandma was having multiple falls and became very de-conditioned. We tried skilled nursing for a couple of weeks, but she wasn't making any progress and we were satisfied with the resources they were able to give us for end of life care. My dad was transferred from NM to Mesa, AZ. I wish I knew more about this facility. My mom wasn't too happy about this place, either. They say to call anytime to check on your love one. I have documented the time I've called and how long until I able to speak to a nurse to check on my dad. Mostly the phone would just ring and ring. We have to constantly insist to make sure my dads gown was changed and his bedding. Also, to make sure they bathe him. It isn't my family responsibility to tell these people to do their job! They don't deserve any rating. I hold the administrators, the day and night nurses responsible for what they did. Very unprofessional staff. This facility needs to be shut down! read more

DANGER! PLEASE READ Former nurse who has worked in many skilled nursing facilities My mother was sent here after a fall and broke her arm. As soon as I entered the building I knew there were issues. A stench of urine and feces hits you along with the smell of fragrance coming from the sprayers used to try to cover it up. The place was filthy. The room was filthy, small and unsafe for two patients. The bathroom was gross and was used by four patients at a time. The place was loud, mostly patients yelling for help who had been waiting for care while their call lights blinked without notice. There was no sense of urgency on the part of cna's or nurses. I had to provide care for my mother multiple times because she could not wait any longer. Most times she waited between 1 and 2 hours for a response. A couple times I was there it was over 2 hours. The staff was rude and disrespectful. The worst of which were the doctors, who I met after waiting two days. The doctor came in, did not greet me or shake my hand (I'm a male so this was a sign of disrespect) He did not look at my mother's incision, would not answer any questions. He did no assessment whatsoever. He just walked out in less than 30 seconds and said " We will figure it out". I'm sure he cares more about his gaudy Mercedes than his patients. I asked for help with the menu because the food was inedible and they said they would give some options but they didn't. The nurses and cna's never smiled, they were rude and treated my mother like a piece of meat. Meds were missed and messed up, she never got a bath in a week. She left in worse shape than she came. They sent her out in the middle of the night with no call. I felt awful having her there and was trying to get her out so it was a godsend to hear she was at the hospital. There were some amazing physical therapy staff there and two males cna's and one female cna that deserve note and raises. They are underpaid, overworked. The front of the building is getting a facelift which is going to cost a ton, use that money for good pay and raises. It all comes from the top, the medical director and upper level management should be ashamed. Mom came out of the hospital and was ok, she went to a great place that I went to scout, please check out the facilities before your mom has a nightmare like mine! read more

Montecito has been a great facility for families during this pandemic. They have an open visitation policy which has helped our family members stay involved with the care plan and encouraged socialization to help motivate our patient to participate in therapies. This has been extremely helpful with our patient's recovery. read more

Do NOT send your loved ones to this hell hole! Family member in there, rings buzzer for help. ONE HOUR later someone came in. 4 people using 1 bathroom. A few employees very nice but....insurance issues....our company says one thing and they say another. Still waiting for several items ordered. Numerous calls and never a call back. Try calling and they don't pick up. Leave a message, forget it. This facility is for people that are never going home. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

This place needs to be shut down!!! The website is a complete misrepresentation of what this place truly is. where do i even start. when i arrived at 8pm, not one person smiled at me. i asked for a glass of water. when i had not received it by 9pm, i asked again. when i had not received it by 10:20 pm, i forced myself up from bed (after only one day after surgery) to get a glass of water. it was FILTHY. the bed sheets had a hair on them and something i peeled off! i did not put my glasses on because i did not want to see what it was. the tv on the wall had liquid stains on it. i asked them to clean it , and it took 3 times asking someone . they neglect you. if you ring the buzzer, maybe, MAYBE they will show up within the hour. and the next two days were a nightmare. i was supposed to stay 4-6 days but i had to get out of that nasty place. when the medical lady put me in a wheel chair because i was discharged, she was going really fast down the hall and i told to her please slow down becuase i just had a full hip replacement and my foot was dragging and bouncing and it hurt (the wheel chair was old and did not have a foot rest!) and she said to me in an irritated tone: " you should be walking by now!" . AND THEN, when she went to help me into the car, she started to cross my legs and i told her please don't do that because the surgeon said the most important thing to NOT DO is cross legs and she said this in an irritated tone: "well, your surgeon never had hip surgery so he doesn't know. my girlfriend had hip surgery and she said you can cross you legs!" i pleaded with her to please not cross my legs. i could go on an on but hopefully you get the point. this is NOT a place to heal and rehab (i think the PT spent one minute with me.) read more
