The plain buttermilk donut loaf is the best with low sugar, so the tender cake is extra delicious. Decaf coffee sits all day, so be careful as the warmer boils it giving the decaf a burned taste. But... it's hot! Since coffee beverages can be made individually, it should be a cinch to have any of them in decaf. I'm not sure they understand how it works. Music was interesting, but not really customer-friendly. Best to just get a box of donuts & eat them elsewhere. read more

I went to grab a donut this morning and ended up leaving because the service was horrible. I waited about 10 minutes, which I didn't even mind, but when someone else walked in they helped her immediately even though I was there first. It was my first impression of the place and definitely my last. The owner (I'm guessing) came out and didn't look like he was wearing gloves and was touching his shirt while handling things. These donuts were the worst donuts I've had, they were stale, dry, lacked flavor and clearly weren't made with love like donuts should be. We lived here for a year and decided to try this place. Why call it Monterey Doughnut's? There is a poor selection of doughnuts. Mostly all other stuff. We decided to try it 2 days ago. The only doughnuts that have filling are the bars. They fill them while you wait. You have 2 choices, cream and berry. No powder doughnuts just pure sugar on them. Their doughnuts are tasteless and easy to forget. We ordered 4 doughnuts. They had a weird taste and didn't enjoy them at all. We ended up getting deathly sick in the middle of the night and it lasted a full day and a half. My Daughter told me that when she came to see us with her boyfriend, they stopped there on the way home. They said the doughnuts tasted so bad that they threw them away. I will never go there again or recommend this place to anyone. They obviously never heard of flavor or variety. read more

Still trying to find a good apple fritter so we gave this place a try since we were in the area. It's a small shop, warm inside. I found their apple fritters to be deep fried until super crispy and hard. It was really crunchy to eat. Hardly any soft doughy parts I'd have to rate this at a 4 out of 10. Service was friendly.
