Bagels can go up to $16+ which is INSANEEE. they only add one slice of turkey breast and barely any veggies. it was a flat and sad bagel for the price. The donuts have been lacking as well. They're stale and overly sweet. coffee is more expensive than starbucks too. so sad this place went downhill as it was THE spot. oh and don't get the boba or drinks because they use artificial stuff. i've also noticed they charge you for extra stuff and can/do get away w this since they don't provide an itemized receipt. guess i'll have to find a new one read more

Best bagels hands down in Monterey Peninsula. If they were in Carmel By the Sea or Monterey their prices will be double. The service is prompt and friendly. There is no seating inside but if you want a bagel or a bagel sandwich this place is great . The cashier was very thoughtful about packaging the food and asked if I need knives. Pictures on the menu do not reflect what you get. The Breakfast bagels are below average quality for high dollar price. We could have gone to a sit down breakfast anywhere in monterey and paid the same. The coffee was terrible and the bagel had one piece of onion, and one piece of pepper on it for their marina omelette. Not to mention the coffee is garbage. Do not recommend. Will not be returning. Pretty busy inside, more of a place to sit and chat or grab and go. Line was a bit messy as there was a paying space in the middle, but you're supposed to order at the end, then move to the middle. People were confused. I ordered a sausage, egg, and potato burrito with bacon. It filled me up, but for $13 could've been bigger. It did get made pretty fast though. Normally we've had a good experience here, but today was the exception. Perhaps it was foolish to order a breakfast burrito, but hey, they offer them. The pictures depict crispy "tater tot" style potatoes in the burrito, but what in fact was in it were diced red potatoes that are probably bought frozen and only thawed to put in the burritos. Besides the b terrible texture, they tasted bad, as in "turned" bad, like they don't get rotated out enough when not used in a timely manner. As you see from the photos the burrito consisted of a massive amount of potatoes in relation to eggs and sausage. Lessons learned. read more

It's been over 18 yrs since I've lived in Marina but Everytime I go back to see family I need AT LEAST ONE TRIP here. No frills name, small bakery, a few tables only inside--- But most donuts only $1 and so soft , fluffy and freshly baked, soft bagels, many kinds to choose from (my fave is the Spinach bagel), big bagel sandwiches. Buy a dozen donuts and get $1 off. I noticed they added burritos to their menu since our last time here (2017) Bring cash!!! There's a surcharge if you use a CC. But they have ALWAYS BEEN CASH ONLY, to keep costs down. Like I said, we lived here over 18 yrs ago and the prices are STILL LOW, SAME QUALITY! A bit too much cream cheese. There was supposed to be sprouts in that sandwich - mine didn't have any. They forgot? Still it was quite tasty on a toasted garlic bagel. Daughter enjoyed her plain bagel with lox spread. Iced coffee and regular coffee were very good. We split a cinnamon roll donut. All together for these items $21+ change. Used to be one of my favorite spots ever since I was a child. Probably was the most acclaimed food spot in the Monterey County. Ever since management changed so did the quality of it. The portions of the bagel sandwiches decreased while the prices for it increased. The bagels are not as big and fluffy as they used to, but instead is flat and dense. The bagel dog used to be a family favorite, but those also shrunk (there used to be cheese in it too but I don't think they add it anymore.. and if they did it's probably just a single shred). The donuts used to be perfect- airy and fluffy, but now it's not as good. I'd still prefer their donuts over store bought ones as it still satisfies my cravings, hence why I still gave 3 stars. If you're new to the area I think it's worth trying, but coming from someone who's been a customer since forever with the previous management my standards are set high. read more

Looking at the other reviews, I've seen that they changed their ownership so this is for the past times I've been here. I always recommend friends to visit this shop whenever they visit the Monterey area! My favorite is ordering the #1 on a sesame bagel with no mustard. The workers usually pack in the bagel and put the right amount of ingredients! Everything goes so well with each other. I usually get a few donuts to share with everyone too. His customer service was excellent. & God knows it doesn't matter how good your food is, customer service will have me come back 100 percent of the time. Now on the taste of the donuts. I enjoy a good apple fritter. I like them slightly doughy, moist and full of apple pieces. The Apple fritter from here was slightly overcooked with a hint of a scorched flavor.
