We were walking on the wharf on a pretty warm day for Monterey so we decided to try this shop out. I tried their butter pecan ice cream, which was amazing. We also tried their churro bite Sundae which was also delicious. They have a pretty good variety of ice cream flavors and desserts, and service was fast. I definitely recommend stopping by.

We got the churro ice cream & it was soo good. As 2 people we shared it & it was plenty so it's def good for sharing a sweet treat.

Came to Monterey for some exploring in Big Sur, stopped by for dinner and dessert. After dinner we stopped by and tried some locally made ice cream. My wife ordered the cookies n cream and I got a chocolate dipped waffle cone with cookies n cream and mint n chip. Now I have been to a lot of ice cream places in California and I was not a fan of the ice cream here, after a few bites we both threw them away. Service was fast and the line moved quickly. The area is on the pier so plenty of places to enjoy the ice cream if your taste buds like it. I would not recommend this place, sorry.

Line was long but moved pretty quickly. Prices were high likely fit to the area (touristy). Ice cream was just okay.

We ordered two scoops for more than $8 so I would say definitely on the expensive side given it's not really gelato. The price premium has to do with the location right on the Monterey pier. We had the banana cream and chocolate peanut butter. Both are pretty good. We noticed they melt a bit faster than average ice cream in a chilly afternoon (low 60s). Not sure if that's a sign of high water content in the ice cream? But overall the texture is thick and flavors on the spot, so maybe I was just nitpicking

Our group got scoops of birthday cake, rainbow sherbet, mint chip, peanut butter chocolate, & a cookies by the bay sundae. Also got a marshmallow topper. It was all good and enjoyable. The customer service was friendly. However, nothing stood out as particularly unique or especially tasty, considering the price. There's a small cow bench in front that's a fun photo op.

Waited in line to order during Memorial Day weekend. Their milkshake machine was down so I got cookies ans cream in a cup. It was pretty tasty. My boyfriend got the churros and I loved how they were warm and paired well with chocolate sauce. Might have added them to my cup of ice cream, hehe

Slow service, but good ice cream. They don't press the ice cream into the cone so be careful two people had to go back in line because they kicked the cone and the ice cream fell right off. Mini churro sundae was really good I recommend this one. Rainbow sherbet had lots of flavor.

We stopped for ice cream, but ended up ordering churro bites and a donut. The churro bites came with choice of chocolate or caramel sauce. Both items were made to order and the oil used to fry the sweet treats was very fresh. Service was awesome too! We will definitely be back!

Cookies and Cream & Pistachio Ice cream with chocolate dipped cones

To start the line moved incredibly fast! It was super nice, specially with the cold air. There was plenty of ways to read the menu before you got there to know what you wanted. The staff was super quick and nice, getting your choice of dessert out to you. The ice cream was the perfect consistency to be on a cone, wasn't too cold that you barely got anything when you ate it, and wasn't too warm to where it melted all over your hands. The flavors were immaculate too and definitely one of my new favorite stops for ice cream!

Mint Chip with Oreo Topping

The mint chip ice cream is so creamy and minty I stopped by for a scoop two days in a row. The chocolate chips were small and a perfect amount. Each time I ordered with crumbled oreo because I enjoy texture, didn't exactly look the prettiest, but boy was it tasty!

Coffee ice cream (one scoop) in a cup (August 2022)

Nothing worse than eating icy "ice cream" with no flavor. I came here after dinner at Old Fisherman's Grotto to get ice cream for dessert. Big mistake since this place is just not good. I ordered one scoop of coffee ice cream and my fiancé ordered a scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream in a cup. They didn't have enough of his ice cream so they topped it off with some chocolate ice cream. It's nice that they weren't skimpy but that wasn't enough to take away from the icy factor that he also encountered with his ice cream. The coffee flavor was very faint and had little inclusions of I don't know what till this day but it just wasn't good or a memorable experience. Customer service was nice and friendly but slow with only one person working the line down on a Friday evening. I don't see myself coming back here for my ice cream needs.

Seal show before you get to creamery.

Best ice cream I have ever had. A MUST TRY if visiting the Monterey and Carmel area!!…read more The BEES KNEES is all you need on their WAFFLE cone. The flavor of honey is so strong and my new favorite flavor when done correctly. The chunks of hardened sugar added amazing texture and crunch. Usually I find honey underwhelming but now know it's true potential. I see why bears love their honey as it really is the bees knees! I thought it was ridiculous that they offer delivery but I now understand why. I would go back for the same thing on my next trip and will recommend it to everyone I know.

Second time visit to this shop in the past few years…read more Ice cream quality is solid here-- definitely the award winning bee's knees is worth trying. Outside of that they have a lot of good flavors to try from-- this time I got the apple pie and something else that I don't quite remember at this moment. Both had the impression of being delicious, but nothing extremely life changing. Service is helpful here! They don't offer samples, but will offer to swap out if you don't like your initial pick. Otherwise, they are quick to churn through a long line, so don't be discouraged by the length of line! It's long only because people in front of you are taking a while to decide. In the shop itself, there are a handful of counter seats, and some tables outside, but if you happen to catch yourself on a Monterey day with the marine layer in, then you'll probably want to stay inside so you're not eating cold in the cold.

I ordered the Cheese Foam Watermelon Lychie Tea, which he said was the 2nd most popular drink and I can see why.... He takes his time making your drinks custom from real quality ingredients and doesn't just go and pour some flavored powder in a cup like I feel some other places do.... He made it right in front of me and it was absolutely delicious!!! Even though it was evening time and cold and rainy, I can imagine how refreshing it would be on a hot day.... And then I needed to order a milk tea to go... He suggested the Tiger milk tea , saying it was their most popular and no wonder!! It was just delicious as the first one! !!! The atmosphere is very clean and roomy with lots of comfy seating and there's even a big cotton candy machine where you can order different styles of cotton candy with designs on them for only $5!!! What a fun place and nice guy who owns and operates it...prices are average, compared to most Boba places in the area and I was very glad I took the time to stop and check them out!!!! By the way, their Boba balls refresh and melt Iin your mouth!!!! Yummy!!! I heard another girl order a special " Dubai Chocolate Boba drink that looked so goood! Next time!!!.... I highly recommend you go give them a try if you like Boba drinks like I do! You'll be glad you did!!!!

Very cool and hip cafe in old town Monterey. I think it is in a historic building as it totally…read morelooks like a Spanish Mission era type of building. Super open and airy, there's a separate room off to the side with some haphazardly laid out tables and seats. The main retail area is pretty busy with people lined up placing orders/waiting for an order, or people fixing up their coffee drinks. Now even though I took my goods to-go I had to go out to their patio to find a restroom. That outdoor area is totally cool, totally out in the open but you're like in a square inside a fort, surrounded by walls, so you can't see any street action. But you're totally open to roam in here from the street. Next time I'm in this area, I'm definitely gonna make time to chill on that patio. Cold Brew ($6.50/5*) Perfect to my taste, smooth and mellow on the roast. Pricey for a small cup but this is a touristy area. Banana Bread Slice ($5.25/4*) Very thick slice. Super soft yet moist in the center but firmer and more well done on the edges. Pretty dark in color, maybe some cocoa powder went in but there were also tiny hits of dark chocolate throughout. Mild natural banana flavor, wished it were stronger but that's me. Blue Corn Cookie ($5/5*) Never had a cookie like this before but I was pretty impressed. Kinda like a cornbread but made into the texture of a good cookie, so it was crisp and buttery on the bottom and moist and chewy in the center. All whilst having a pronounced corn meal flavor and texture. Major props for exposing me to something new that I enjoyed immensely. Went great with sips of black cold brew. Most other things in their pastry case seemed a tad fancier than most other regular coffee shops. I'm just glad I was able to run into and choose a more special cafe to end my beautiful trip out in the central coast.

We…read moremade it a point to come back the next morning and were actually the first people in line when they opened. Unfortunately, our experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. The biggest letdown was the service. The staff seemed irritated to be open, and not one person smiled or appeared welcoming throughout our visit. It wasn't rude, but it definitely didn't make for a great first impression. They have a great selection of baked goods, so we tried the blueberry muffin, donut holes, and chocolate croissant. The blueberry muffin was just okay--the oats on top weren't really my favorite. The donut holes were soft, fluffy, and generously coated in sugar, making them a solid choice. The chocolate croissant was easily the star of the meal. It was incredibly soft, buttery, and filled with perfectly gooey melted chocolate. I also ordered a latte, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. For breakfast, I had the smoked salmon toast. The salmon itself was delicious, but it was served on a very large slice of grain bread that didn't have much flavor, so the dish felt a little underwhelming overall. Looking back, I wish I had ordered the avocado toast instead. Overall, I can see why people stop by for the pastries--especially the chocolate croissant--but based on our experience, we left feeling a little disappointed considering all the buzz.
