Cute little pizza shop! They get 2 thumbs up for the Christian music playing and for it not being sound loud you can't talk or hear. Plenty of selections on the buffet from salad, pasta, soup and pizza. Idk what kind it is but their ranch dressing is very good! It's a buffet so some items may sit longer than another but it was still good. They will make any pizza you would like to request. Staff are friendly and attentive. Update: we gave them another try (and another, and another). The staff has been very helpful each time. They ask what kind of pizza we would like to request. It has been night and day since the first time we tried them and I'm glad we came back. Now that we've had their fresh pizzas, their dough is very good. Even my picky eater eats the crust. The water still tastes like plastic. That knocked off a star. Otherwise, great value! read more

This is a review of the buffet portion specifically, I've ordered take out enough to warrant a 5 star rating alone. This place is heaven for your budget, taking in all the factors, especially during covid, this is a great place to go for a cheap bite to eat. Ideal for a broke one like myself. Price: As said, its easy to eat more than your money's worth here with all the options given and the infinite drink refills Service: Impeccable customer service. Very nice staff, always checking up on you to see if you need anything, always ready to serve you at the buffet asap (no self serve due to covid, which is understandable) Atmosphere: Very chilled out place here, not too loud not too quiet, no annoying music playing or anything. Nice italian esque theming with beautiful paintings and light fixtures. Not too bright, very comfortable. No complaints on cleanliness and such. Not too crowded either, even at dinner time. Covid-19: The staff serves you at the buffet for safety, they're all wearing masks and gloves and such. Frequently you'll see an employee come out and sanitize surfaces. We chose the buffet (7.99 all day, less for kids) and were impressed with the items they had that the Cocoa franchise doesn't. An extended salad bar, three pastas, four sauces and even Eggplant Parmesan! The pizza slices have adequate toppings. Best was that when we told them we were vegetarians TWO different veggie loaded pizza options showed up on the buffet bar within a few minutes! Came here today for the pizza buffet...luncheon price for month of may is an amazing $4.99, and that includes salad, pasta dishes, and dessert. Usually it's $6.95. I gather they have a menu, but at lunch it's all about the buffet. There are several pizza choices, white pizza, Hawaiian, pepperoni, sausage, cheese, deluxe, veggie, etc. The two soups were minestrone and Italian wedding. There were a few cakes and chocolate chip cookies for desserts. Salad bar was also pretty good. The pasta dishes were spaghetti and another "tube" type pasta with ricotta and tomato, melted mozarella on top. I pretty much stuck with Italian wedding soup which was very good, and pizza. The pizza was about 3 on a scale of 5. My main "fault" with it was that it seemed a bit undercooked, but I'd rather have it that way than cardboard. I just wish they could find the balance that Anthony's seems to find for thin crust pizza. Overall it's the best value around the area for lunch. Pix posted. If you are in the area at lunch, they have a very nice lunch buffet at a reasonable price. They offer several different kinds of pizza, a nice salad bar, some different pastas and a small dessert bar that includes ice cream. It's reasonably priced at $6.99. Montese's is similar to a CiCi's. It's going to be a hit with the kids. If you are looking for a really good adult geared pizza, this probably isn't the place. But it's great for a quick lunch stop. Especially since you do everything yourself and at your own pace. The restaurant is very clean. They keep the buffet bar well stocked and clean. They keep the pizzas coming and fresh. I ordered online for lunch. It estimated 45 minutes for delivery-they were there in 10. I had crab soup, house salad, and fries. The fries were REALLY good. The salad was fairly standard, which I expected from the description. When you're looking for that, this will satisfy. The cucumber chunks were massive (that's a compliment) and they use red onion and black olives. The crab soup was really delicious. I'm really excited to order more and try more of their menu! Family owned and operated pizza buffet. Very clean and friendly with surprisingly good food for the money. Buffet is well stocked with pizza and other food stuffs. Turned often and HOT! Staff was friendly and attentive and visited our table many times to make sure we were ok. Nice spread of simple deserts and a soft serve machine. This is the worst place I have ever ate at. I took my sister out to eat there for her birthday. They charged me for three people amd three adult drinks. Granted my niece is 2 and I at nor drank anything. When I mentioned something about the price and me not eating as well as the age of my niece they called me a liar and insinuated that I had indeed ate and drank something. So they offered to give me back the $1.83 for the other drink. Now I still won't go back since they won't believe a customer when told something. We got two pizzas, one with chicken and sausage and the other plain cheese. Plain cheese looked great, kids loved it. Toppings were expensive but tasted cheap. We also got a crab fries which weren't great either. I recommend just getting the cheese pizza if you're going to order here. Customer service was great otherwise! read more

I'm visiting from California and always look forward to tasting new restaurants. I was disappointed in this eatery. I ordered wings, mozzarella sticks and cheese fries...all in which lacked flavor. The wings could have used salt and pepper, the mozzarella sticks lacked any seasonings on the breaded portion and the fries were tasted more like grease than anything. Over priced and lacked flavor. This place is the JAM! I wish we had one in Woodbridge. So much better than CiCis and it's locally-owned. Great for families and excellent value. The salad bar was pretty fresh, the dressings made in-house were great, and they had all different kinds of pizza combinations. Even yummy mini calzone bites! It is pretty much exactly what you would expect. It is cheap mass produced pizza at a low price. It should be noted the price is very low. The interior is clean and efficient and the staff are helpful and happy to make any pizzas by request for the buffet. It is not my kind of place but my parents love it and keep taking me. The BBQ pizza is my favorite but you can tell everything is out of a can. read more

We've been coming to Montese's and getting delivery from them since they opened. Once my favorite place, I now will no longer order from them. We've tried over and over and over to order hoping the food would be good like it used to be but we keep getting let down. From excess water in salads, to cold pizza, or just plain missing items in our deliveries we are done and over it. I work in customer service and rely on reviews, so for me to leave a bad one it's actually heartbreaking. I'm very disappointed and upset by this. read more

Terrible food. I heard good things but my first experience was a disgusting one. Pizza's were under cooked, dough under sauce and cheese was raw. Meatballs were lukewarm, mushy, in a watery sauce and lacked flavor. Alfredo was terribly bland. I would not eat from the salad bar. The veggie containers looked like they've never been washed. Same with the salad dressing containers. Bowls were greasy and had to pick through the silverware to find clean ones. Staff was friendly but truly lacking inspiration. I guess you get what you pay for but these are issues that can easily be corrected. A real shame. read more

Went to dinner 2 hours before they closed. The pizza section of the bar had little selection, and what selection they had was dried out and not fresh. After being there for 10 minutes you could hear the manager yell "you can start closing up now" to the employees. The employees started to pack up the bar while we were still eating. I've eaten here a few times in the past. Sometimes the food is better than at other times. I went here for salad two days ago. The salad was not fresh. When I tried to point it out and ask for fresher salad, I received some of the rudest and most inappropriate treatment I've ever experienced in a place of business. The owner's contact information was on the website, so that evening I emailed him, telling him what happened and asking for a refund. He was very apologetic and very kind. He said both issues (salad not fresh and rude staff) would be addressed, and he told me the refund would be waiting for me at the restaurant. He also encouraged me to try the restaurant again. The refund was at the register, and the staff person who found it for me was very friendly and helpful. He also invited me to stay and eat, but I wasn't ready to try eating there again. We ate here on a Thursday evening for the dinner buffet and then on the following Saturday afternoon we ate at Cici's for lunch. Our total was $9 less at Cici's for what we all agreed was better quality and selection at Cici's. The pizza at Montese is salty in my opinion and we were not pleased with the quality of the other options on the buffet either. For example, there was only one thin strip of green pepper and one strip of onion in the veggie Stromboli - mostly bread. I was hoping to like Montese based on what other reviewers have said, but unfortunately I don't think we will be eating here again unless the quality improves. read more

The husband and myself love this place. They are always so willing to make whatever type pizza we request for the buffet and the salad choices are surprising for a smaller privately owned restaurant. You can't beat the price for all you can eat and the great taste. Pizza was hot and fresh...greek pizza is a must request. These folks made three hot and fresh special request pizzas for my group when we arrived just one hour before closing. The food quality has improved and it looks like the dining room has been recently remodeled. It's beautiful now. The girl who took our empty plates was very sweet and friendly and seemed to be happy to be working. It's such a nice change of pace from the normal pizza buffets. They now serve breakfast as well.
