Now, the place isn't very crowded, so, to me, it is a staffing issue....So initially I had this place as 2 stars, buuuuuuut. Mark came by and made up for it. I waited about 20 minutes for any service, but Mark got my order and all was good! He got me peach flavored (I guess peach bellini) mimosa. He made sure it stayed bottomless. Came for the REFRESH FRIDAYS to celebrate my birthday on 9/9! Our party of 12 enjoyed the FREE Grand Lux Buffet. Our rounds of shots and drinks were nice. The music was on point and the hookahs were hitting! There was a lot going on there as 1 room hosted an Aaron Hall concert, the main room/sports bar had a comedy show and then there was a cigar bar. Different music in each area and ppl everywhere!! Now here is why I took off a star.....the cost!! After ordering plenty of drinks and 2 hookahs we were told we had to close out at 8 cause the comedy show was starting and to remain at our tables we had to order 2 items each!!! Update: Welp! I tried y'all! 3 times and I am good with Monticello. I have consistently said this establishment nickels and dimes you to death and its not organized. From the entry fee, to the parking, to the $3 bottled water, to the slow service and now a new one! Last night I went with 4 friends to see Dave Hollister. I reserved a table for 5 in the entertainment room which was $44 each with a 2 item min. First they couldn't find the reservation. then they sat us at a redheaded stepchild section, and we moved to another table, then it took forever for our server to come over, it was busy so maybe that was it. I wasn't drinking so i just ordered water with my meal, only bottled as an option. Now I have ZERO complaints about the food. I stressed i wanted my ribeye med rare and it was PERFECT as were my potatoes and spinach. So, now to Dave Hollister. He came out and sang 3 of his songs and played about 4 other artist songs and had the crowd sing them. He was on for all of 25 min. FINALLY, we get our checks and are ready to get the hell out of dodge. My check was $38 even. I had $40 cash but i was like i will just use my card. When she brings it back for me to sign, it says 39.50. I think I have the wrong check at first but no. They have added $1.50 service charge because I used a credit card. Wtf! How do you just do this without saying something FIRST?!!! Its not about the $, its the principle. So now i am just throughly disgusted and text for my car, which they say do 5 min ahead of time. After i sent the text the server comes over and explains the service charge on the bill and on the final receipt, it does say 3.75% charged for credit cards. That is way more than any merchant fee ESPECIALLY with the volume of business they have. So My friend decides to speak to the manager, who you can tell is used to this because she was very defensive. She said that information is on their website and it used to be on the menu but got cut off. At that point i walk out because that bullshit and it had been about 10 min since i called for my car. I go out and wait for my car another 10-15 min and then one of the valet folks asked me if i had been helped. I tell them i called for my car 20-25 min ago so she asks my valet number and radios for it. Another 7-10 it pulls up. What was the point of me texting for it in advance?! I am probably more easygoing and patient than most. I have gone to the place 3 times and my takeway is Idc if all the people in metro Atlanta go, i will not. I do not know what the draw is to this establishment that it remains so packed all the time but I would rather go to any other place that is not in the business to take advantage of folks. Three friends and I decided to watch the Saints vs Falcons game at Monticello today. The game start time was 1p so I arrived at noon in an effort to get a table. There is valet and self parking available. Because I arrived early, I was able to park out front. Upon walking towards the entrance, before I could grab the door a gentleman appeared and asked for my ID. I thought it was odd. Normally the waitress/waiter or bartender asks for ID once you order a drink but ok. Lol. I was happy to see the place was mostly empty because I was able to get a tour. This restaurant is much larger than I expected. There is the sport bar, cigar room, the entertainment room and the patio area. The waitress advised me the football game I wanted to see would be played in the sports bar area so I decided to sit in a booth there. Around 5 minutes after being seated, a waitress came over and introduced herself. I asked her to bring menus and two waters for now since one of my guests was parking. Once my friend sat down the waitress came back with two bottles of water and two menus. She advised they were not allowed to serve tap water but would not explain why. Interesting. We ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls as appetizer while we waited for the additional guests. Long story short, the wait for the appetizer was around 30 minutes and this was with a half full room and the additional rooms were less than half full. Also, I waited more than 20 minutes for a cocktail only to be told that brand of liquor I ordered was out of stock. We never received napkins or silverware so I had to get up and ask the bartender for it. My friend ordered the fried catfish and shrimp plate with mashed potatoes and greens. I am not sure what was wrong with it but she said she didn't like it so she sent it back. Everyone enjoyed the jerk chicken eggrolls and hot honey garlic wings. My friend enjoyed the OMG fries and house salad. After a while our waitress disappeared so we asked another waitress for our bills so that we could move to another room (it was almost half time; too late to drive to another sports bar to watch the game). My friend was shocked to be charged gratuity for a table of four as well as notice of a 3.75% charge for use of a debit or credit card which was never explained to us by the waitress. The three of us had gratuity on our bills but the tax was removed and we were assessed a $0.75 service charge. The bills were totally confusing. To add insult to injury, we asked the waitress about it and she couldn't explain so she sent the manager over. At this point, I had to laugh because this was unbelievable. The manager advised the 3.75% charge went into effect on friday and it is not on the menu but on the website. Lol. Really ma'am? She never explained the gratuity, she said whatever was on the bill needs to be paid. Wow! Of course my friend would pay her bill. Everone paid and we moved to the cigar room which is very nice and the service was 100% better. We were very happy there and even ordered more wings and cocktails. Suggestion: 1. Only sit in cigar room or the entertainment room. I spoke with a few guests in each room and none had the negative experience we did in the sports bar area. 2. I came here with a friend because we heard the food was good and the atmosphere was nice. We gave our name to the hostess and asked how long the wait would be, she couldn't give me an estimated wait time, but said it shouldn't be long because we were only a party of 2. After waiting near the entrance for about 15/20min, someone came and told us we couldn't wait there and we had to go to one of the bars or cigar lounge. We found an open table in the cigar lounge. I asked a waitress for menus, which took a while to get, so we ordered appetizers right away. We did not see the waitress again for a while after that. We patiently waited to order drinks and the rest of our food. She finally came back to the table to take those orders right before the appetizers came out. The food was good and filling. I ordered a Dusse sidecar, that tasted like straight Dusse, but they charged an extra $2 to make it a "sidecar" (which I'm pretty sure they did not make). I was also charged an extra $2 to get a salad without avocado (pictured on receipt). They include gratuity, round the total to the nearest quarter, and charge for using a credit/debit card smh. Located right on the corner by Mellow Mushroom off of Powers Ferry is this popping little place. Read on for the pros and the cons! Okay this is a mixed review. Went on a Sunday around 6:30 or 7 pm and there was a $20 cover charge. I thought that was a bit steep for a Sunday! Nevertheless we paid it. Then there are 4 sections...1 cigar area 2 dance floor side 3 other side and 4 outside patio. Place is pretty plain Jane not a lot of frills. The other side with the patio was packed but they had a DJ there at the time and it definitely was lit! We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table unless we wanted to sit on the no action side which that defeats the purpose of paying $20 right? Crowd Urbana grown and sexy vibe. Anyway once we got seated no servers ever came over to us finally we flag someone down and she did apologize. Drinks were good and strong. I had a Long Island iced tea and during the afternoon game they have what they call a blue something that my friends ordered and they said it was pretty good. My Long Island iced tea was $12 and it was very good and strong so it was definitely worth it! :-) Then I ordered from all the reviews the slamming salmon ( I think it was about $25 but worth every penny) and to my surprise it was definitely slamming! It came out hot and steamy and with lobster and shrimp sauce and it was yummy delicious!! I did swap out my rice for mashed potatoes per recommendation from the server. One of my friends ordered fries that came out cold were promptly swapped out for hot ones. A few downsides included having to pay three dollars for a bottle of water. At least it was Deer Park which is a good brand but when you're already paying money for drinks and food that's a ridiculous policy. I can see if someone sat at a table and was just trying to order water! Another issue was the booze or push closely together if someone is on the larger side they're going to struggle with sitting in a booth or at least our booth was. Then of course the server not noticing us for a while was an issue and they automatically add on the 15% tip so that probably contributes to their lack a rushing for service. Although on the good side she was really very nice once we got her attention. The places on the tinier side not a lot of room or space but it was definitely Popping! However the cover charge was a bit much for a Sunday afternoon. I will pay it on a Friday or Saturday night but not on a Sunday. Had a great time the DJ was great! there was also karaoke and it was lit but just not to that extent due to the wait time due to the extravagant pricing and due to the lack of space in the facility. So food four half stars- 1/2 star seduction cold fries Service 2 stars deduct for auto tip charge and then having to flag someone down after 15-20 mins Ambiance- Dj lit but small claustrophobic squishy for a $20 cover charge Definitely would recommend and that slamming salmon was all that but be conscious to check on if they are charging cover or not and know no free water and service may be subpar for prices! So if i add it all up i would not have paid almost 70 for salmon and a drink on a Sunday afternoon now if i was ready to be squished on the dance floor maybe buttt it was also hot in there so if you will be dancing wear little to no clothes I'm sure it would be hotter with a ton of people in there! read more

At the very least tell someone at the door all tabs have an automatic entertainment fee added. I was about to bring over 20+ here to celebrate my 50th in a couple of weeks. Taking them somewhere they will be respected. This is ROBBERY. Prior to this I had TWO drinks and wings for $31. Make this make sense. Manager was very dismissive. Not coming back. I purchased two (2) premium tickets for $215.44 premium seating.  Although I had premium seating, general admission ticket holders were allowed to "swarm" the open space therefore; obstructing the view of premium ticket holders.  The purpose of purchasing premium tickets was to have some type of safety by sitting at a table in the midst of a toxic pandemic.  The crowd was so thick, obnoxious, unmasked and very rude.  I found it difficult to sit in my "PREMIUM" seat due to the enormous crowd bumping, pushing etc.  I could not see over the crowd; therefore left prior to the performance. I made management aware of my concerns and requested a full refund. However management has failed to respond! It appeared that this event was overbooked, covid unsafe and tickets were randomly sold with no respect for premium ticket holders. read more

It took us over an hour for us to get our drinks and the ladies that were already seated in the section had been waiting for their drinks and food for more than 30 minutes. I spoke with the hostess who directed me to the manager. He was no help at all!! This place needs to rethink everything about their attitude towards service. I will never return to Monticello's. Valet is a joke we waited over 45 minutes for our vehicle then was told I can go get my car myself!!!! You all need to get it together!!! read more

I had a great time last night at Monticello. I took a star away due to one server we encountered, but we ended up not dealing with her and the server we had was a delight. Also, they do not have a drink menu. We arrived around 7:00. We were there to celebrate a birthday so we directly to were our friends were seating. Food: Most people at the table had the buffet, but I opted to wait until after nine and order off of the regular menu. The buffet seafood did look tasty and individuals you ordered it enjoyed it. I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese. It is Mac and Cheese topped with a fired lobster tail. It was really good. Much better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised. Another downside was no drink menu. I like to know what liquors are being used and their prices up front. Atmosphere: This is definitely a party atmosphere. You can go after work or come late and party. For us we can midway so that we could experience the best of both worlds. I believe they charge after a certain time. Let me say the food is great and music/band was terrific also no line going in, were the best parts. No particular dress code all flavors for all types of people. But more for the mature generation. You won't hear any artist with 'Lil' before their name here (Maybe Lil Kim). Smoking everywhere, it was so annoying. The venue is huge. There is a Cigar Lounge and other areas, can there be one space where there is not smoking. I like my lungs. I dealt with it for a while but then I was over it. Now I know I said the food was good, but it took an hour and a half to get it. The waitress was terrible. I understand it was very crowded but this is the nature of the business and should have been managed better. I didn't see one manager working on efficiency. Music was great old school classics, the stuff that is usually played. NY DJ was nice but I'm from NY so I'm bias. The band was excellent and had great energy. Valet was terrible. People said they had waited an hour. People were skipping. I didn't wait that long (I skipped). My keys were visible and right when they picked them up the key box fell and all the keys were on the ground mixed up. If I come back I will park myself.
