They transported a pick up for me. When it arrived, truck bed cover had blown off and was completely gone. This occurred because the pick up was loaded backwards. I believe that the truck driver should have known that it blowing off could have been a possibility and warned me to secure or remove the bed cover. They took no responsibility and I need to spend $1200 more to have it replaced. read more

What a terrible experience. I had flown across country to clean out a house and ship the car across country. They gave me a 3 day window to pick up the car. On the 3rd day I called and they told me the carrier had cancelled the pickup because their truck had broken down. Montway did not contact me to tell me! They assured me I was moved up in priority and they would get something soon. I called them every day for 3 days and got the same song and dance...but no results. I had to cancel the order despite their pleading, found another company quicky as I needed to fly back across country. It gets better, they then called me 3 days in a row saying they could arrange a pickup soon if I wanted to rebook. Yea, sorry, I don't trust these guys at all. Horrible! read more

Order: 3261948. While the car was eventually picked up after many scheduling issues caused by Montway, the delivery was good and on time. Montway Supervisor and Representitives try to deliver good customer service, but did a poor job of scheduling and follow-up. They promise what you want but do not schedule as requested. My pick up was set up a month in advance for the 18th/19th and pick up occurred on the 29th when I was Gone!!!! I arranged (last minute) someone to had off the keys to the driver. A PAIN!!! Then, I was taveling across country. Had to stop at a wi-fi hotspot to authorize an addition $200 charge and new order after I already paid the quoted $1566.42. I'm over a barrel and have to pay the additional $200. Extortion!!! I constantly followed up with Montway to ensure all went without any problems. They delayed in scheduling pickup (notified me one week before my requested pick up date) then scheduled week after I requested. Promised pick up by the Sunday I flew into Connecticut, then left me to arrange someone to hand the driver the key. Nothing but excuses from Montway and screw-ups!!!!!! Do not use this company. You have been warned. Used them twice in past three months and its a total headache. Drivers don't speak english so there is no communication. Drivers dispatch will then ask you to drive miles to pick up your car even when you pay for delivery to an address. And then there is the fun part, where they give you a delivery window and miss it by days with no communication. read more

Montway Auto Transport is a Scam Recently I had the misfortune of choosing Montway Auto Transport to move my car from Oregon to NYC. What I didn't realize is Montway doesn't actually transport any cars themselves, they hire real moving companies to move your car and act as the middle man. This would be fine if their service extended past the moment they have your money and have hired the mover, but they literally did nothing to accommodate my needs or ensure that my vehicle was transported in a satisfactory matter.  Firstly, it was a rude awakening that they couldn't nail down a date for picking up my vehicle, I had to give them a 5 day window. Inconvenient, but is apparently the industry standard. I wanted them to pick up on Tuesday and gave them a range between Monday and Wednesday (since I was moving and had a tight exit schedule). They ended up showing up on Monday, forcing me to add an extra day of rental car fees to my move. Annoying, but not the end of the world. Secondly, they texted me saying that delivery would be on Thursday or Friday. Ok, fine, you can't predict traffic. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be in NYC till Saturday so I called to adjust the delivery date. This is where the shenanigans began. The customer service member I called to inform them I couldn't take delivery on the predicted dates assured me he would make sure the delivery company would store my vehicle till Monday (which was the most convenient for me).  Not only was that information NOT relayed to the delivery company, I get a text on Friday from the driver asking me to call them to set up pickup of my vehicle that day. Being that I wasn't in NYC yet I could not take delivery so I called Montway customer service again. Their first suggestion was to ask if I had someone else in the area to take delivery (I didn't). The second suggestion was to sign a waiver to allow them to deliver the car to the address without a contact and 'hide' the key somewhere nearby. Now, where the hell are they gonna leave a car in NYC and HIDE the key somewhere?  They then tried to call the delivery company to find out if the delivery could be delayed.  In the meantime I received a call from the actual delivery company, Deisel Transport, informing me they never received a note from Montway to deliver my vehicle on or near a specific date. They also had a similar vibe of telling me what I wanted to hear on the phone, but without much substance or action.  Finally, I called the driver. The driver on both ends of this experience were the only people with REAL information who knew what was ACTUALLY going on. Thankfully, the driver was able to hold onto my vehicle for an extra day and deliver on Saturday when I would be there. Not ideal, having just flown a red-eye from Portland to NYC, but at least my car and property weren't going to just be randomly dumped somewhere on the street in NYC. To add insult to injury, Montway's door-to-door policy is complete and utter horseshit. They will not pick your car up from your house and deliver it to the next address. You'll have the luxury of traveling to a parking lot NEAR your address to load and deliver your vehicle. They couldn't even deliver my vehicle to NYC, I had to go to NEW JERSEY to get it!  They couldn't even get my car to the proper STATE! I have never felt more disrespected and manipulated in a business transaction than I have with Montway Auto Transport. You know what the REAL rub was?  There was another couple that was receiving a delivery of their vehicle at the same time I was (which was why the driver was able to accommodate me) who hired Diesel Transport directly to move their vehicle from Portland to New Jersey. You know how much they paid? $1,000. How much did I pay?  $1,800. So I basically paid $800 for Montway to do jack shit.  Never use Montway to move your vehicle, hire your mover directly. 0/10. read more

The service is horrible. Montway Auto Transport feels like a scam. I made a reservation a month ago, but they could not meet my delivery date, which had an opening of about a week. At the last minute, Montway requested an additional $200 to book a truck driver, claiming the driver requested more money. I cannot trust that explanation. I had no option due to time constraints. Although I paid the extra $200 beyond the original quote, the driver eventually canceled the service due to a change in the route, and Montway did not inform me about this. I only found out after calling them because I was not connected to the driver. Montway continued to charge my credit card, and the cancellation process took more than 48 hours. Horrible! The absolute WORST company I've ever dealt with in my life. Zero communication between them(the broker) and the actual companies they work with. I paid additional money for a guaranteed delivery date as well as a top load. Neither one happened, and I continued to receive BS excuses and receive emails regarding their practices. Montway was super easy to work with in transporting a car from DC to Oregon. I'm very satisfied and would recommend them to others. I started the process by inputting some info on their website and their customer service team followed up with me via email. They were responsive and knowledgeable. Delivery was actually on the early side of the date range. My car arrived in perfect condition - with no damage or no added miles. The cost was reasonable and lower than the other bids I received from the dealer. The only thing that was lacking was an in-transit update. Would have been interesting to track the car's journey across the continent. read more

I hired this company a full 2 months away from the pick up date. They arrived early, it took them more than 20 days to deliver a vehicle from Oregon to Tennessee. Vehicle arrived 10 days after delivery date. They don't return phone calls. They take no responsibility when they do return their calls. They lost our vehicle, they asked us for the truckers phone number because they could not contact the transporters. Customer service is nonexistent and unacceptable!! Pick up guy calls out of nowhere and arranges for pickup a day early. On delivery day, I'm told the car will be here between 4-6. I'm also told someone will call me 2 hrs prior to arrange a drop-off location. I take time off of work to be here for my car. I don't get a call so I call and dispatcher tells me they'll call driver and driver will call me. No call back, no call of any kind. Really PO'd. Office closed. Live chat guy doesn't know anything. ZERO STARS. I had to call them 5 times starting at 9am just to get basic info about my vehicle delivery. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Incompetent and unprofessional! Nobody can tell me where my vehicle is, and I was given two completely different delivery estimates- one from the agent and then something totally different from the truck driver. I have no idea where my car is or even when I am going to receive it. TERRIBLE service, please find another company that will transport your vehicle with trustworthy drivers. It is now the end of the business day and I still do not know when I will be getting my vehicle. I was supposed to be receiving it today by 5 pm, and now I am being told that I may get it as late as this coming Friday between 4-5pm. I understand "estimated times" but this is nearly a FULL WEEK later than what I was quoted. Since this shipment was being handled by my Honda dealership on my behalf, I am going to call and demand a refund of my $950.00 shipping costs. Please improve your customer service immediately. I should not have had to call you so many times for basic information. Your company should have been proactive, and immediately notified me if there was ANY chance that I would not be getting my car today. I just moved across the country and I paid to have my vehicle shipped to me in a TIMELY fashion, and you were not able to deliver.
