In contrast to rave reviews below, my experience with Jimmy Page was anything but satisfactory. I needed to transport a classic car from Oregon to New Jersey within a ten day time frame (in July). I found TCT on the internet and spoke with Mr. Page who assured me (verbally and in writing) that my car would be delivered with a 4-5 window. This was critically important to me as I had travel plans, and I even implored Mr. Page not to overpromise. My car was picked up a day late and five days stretched into six and seven and eight as the car was in transit. I tried numerous times to contact Mr. Page for updates and I was either stonewalled or ignored. At one point Mr. Page condescendingly informed me that "transportation is imprecise." My car arrived 13 days later. I will not editorialize. My description Is factual. read more

I very much wanted to like them and ultimately my vehicle arrived at the destination albeit 2 days pass the committed date. But that's not on Elwood as a broker, that's on the actual carrier. What's on Elwood is the following that is unacceptable due to lack of communication with a customer. After initial contact and how much of a "great choice" I made because the relationships TotalCAREtrans had with local carriers and an initial target of a Monday pickup, it turned into a Thursday pickup. Not big deal, he's a broker, he can only work with carriers that are available. He promptly asked for $200 payment for his end of the transaction with the remainder to be paid to the carrier upon delivery. It all made sense. Where things fell apart was scheduled pickup on Thursday never happened, and I had to figure out why, I wasn't notified. 1. A 2 hour window of 4pm-6pm goes by and I ended up having to call Elwood. Stirke one... why do I need to follow up? Why aren't you my broker doing this logistics for me and GIVING ME an update? I paid you a handsome fee. The carrier calls me and apologizes b/c the local driver's family had an emergency. 2. Next day, the car is picked up and the local driver tells me he has no update on the delivery time (he was the one with the family emergency), the carrier office will have to give me an update. Wait a minute, where's my broker? So I inquire on Friday, and Elwood says in a text "I'll call you shortly" 3 hours go by, no call. I ask again and he responds "I'm checking now". All of Friday evening goes by no update, not even a courtesy call to say that he's tried and no luck will keep trying, we'll shoot for Saturday update, nothing. Strike two. 3. By Saturday after several calls to the carrier, the lady I've interfaced with texts me back and my simple question was "you delayed one day, I need to understand ETA such that my recipient needs to change plans if it's going to be a day later than scheduled". She says Monday afternoon. Unfortunately THAT was wrong too. They showed up Tuesday late morning! Where is the broker? Only on Saturday evening does he respond by saying "sorry, he's left a message but they aren't responding". In the auto transport industry the tangled web of brokers and carriers makes it extremely challenging to assure a carrier one can trust. I will give credit where credit is due, the carrier TotalCAREtrans used for me appears to be reputable and they were local. If your scheduled commits fall into place, super, you got a good experience and you can review 5 stars. I however got hardly any response from Elwood after he got his $200 broker fee. All I got were broken promises to update me on a situation to be very fair the carrier caused, but once again, what did I pay the broker for? $200 for just the initial scheduling or to assure I as a customer get updated every step of the way. An unpleasant experience from the beginning with lots of unnecessary hassle and added stress. I had my car shipped from Oregon to Florida. This is a 3000 mile shipment so I shopped around to get quotes a month in advance of my car shipment. I received quite a few, but Elwood reached out with a clear winner in terms of price and a detailed quote. I agreed and sent him my info for the shipment, and Elwood said he'd begin working on it and keep me posted. After this initial encounter weeks passed by before I emailed him as I had not heard a word from him. He reassured me saying that we were still two weeks out from shipment. Weeks passed by again and there had been no effort from Elwood to keep me updated. I got no updates, no reassurance, and instead my calls, voicemail, and emails went unanswered. Elwood finally reached out to me A DAY before shipment and informed me that the price had gone up, but he had secured me a shipment with the pickup date and delivery date I asked for. In the moment I was just relieved to have a car shipment lined up; fast forward to me in Florida I called the shipping company and they informed me that Elwood had negotiated a delivery time estimated 7-10 days later than we agreed upon, but had messaged me as if I had the original delivery time still. I tried to reach out to clear up this mistake, but as you can imagine old habits die hard - no answer. He seems like a nice guy, but is unprofessional, unreliable, and probably not someone you'd want to trust in charge of shipping your car.
