I really was rooting for the owners, and I'm glad they've been able to last, unlike many of the other establishments on Bar Rescue. Moon Runners has its own private parking lot. It's not large and can be harder to find a park on a Saturday evening or higher-volume times. I've been a handful of times, and service has been great every time. I've sat at tables, but also at the bar, and all of the staff have been friendly and helpful. Some of the food I've had includes: - Apps: Corn Nuggets, Fried Brussels Sprouts, Southern Fried Pickle Chips - Entrees: Steak Salad, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Wilkes County Wrap I've enjoyed my food every time except the pickle chips. They were cooked well, but had way too much batter for my liking. I ended up removing most of the batter because it was so much. Most of the cocktails are centered around moonshine, and there are a ton of options. Additionally, they also have a full bar, so if moonshine isn't your thing, you still have plenty of options.

I had no clue what to expect being a first time patron. My spouse had been here several times and was always raving about how good it was. The stars aligned and we finally made it during a meal time. We came in and ordered and paid at the counter, found our seats, and then waited while our food was being prepared. There's something to see on every wall, and you can tell they know what they're doing with all of the trophies on display that they've won throughout the years. The indoor seating isn't too ample, so don't plan a family reunion, but it can hold a few families at dinner time. There's not a bad meat on the menu. If you're a vegetarian, this is not your new favorite spot. We got their brisket, chicken leg, and smoked turkey. The sauces at the table were tasty, and everyone found a favorite. We were thankful for the ample supply of paper towels, because our littles chowed down and needed to be wiped clean. This Redneck BBQ Lab knows what they're doing. On this particular night, they had too many leftover chicken halves towards the end of the evening, and were selling them half off, so we ate our food, and then got chicken to go for a future meal. Stop in and try it sometime.

The salad bar had a great selection of veggies that looked very fresh, and I appreciated the house made croutons. The complimentary bread rolls were served warm and they were fantastic! We celebrated a special occasion on a Friday evening and were pleased. The hostess started things out very positively by going above and beyond to seat us in a booth. She checked in a couple of times during our meal to insure that we were having a great experience. It was much appreciated. The salad bar doesn't have a huge selection of ingredients, but it is very fresh and kept well stocked. It was the quintessential steak house salad bar. Skip the dinner rolls; they tasted like something from the grocery store bakery and weren't very good. We both tried the Wagyu ribeye. It was very nice: cooked exactly as ordered with a nice sear on the outside. The steak was very flavorful and tender as Wagyu should be. It was excellent and a very reasonable value for $69. The accompanying salt-rubbed baked potato was excellent as well. The restaurant offered two dessert choices: a flight of cheese cake samples or a chocolate cake. We chose the chocolate cake and received a mammoth slab of cake covered in white icing. It was good but nothing exceptional. I wish there had been at least one additional dessert choice to choose from. Service for the rest of our meal was fine. Our drinks ran dry but were eventually refilled. The kitchen did a good job serving our meals at just the right time. The restaurant is attractively decorated inside, but it can't hide its heritage as a prefab metal building. There's a thrift store next door which creates a dichotomy for a restaurant serving $69 steaks. We will return to Harvey Johns Steakhouse the next time we're in the mood for a steak.

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! Fries were terrible but I drowned them with ketchup to eat a few. I later found out my daughter added hot sauce to her sandwich so that's why she liked it. She said her succotash was good. I went here with my husband, kids, and mom to celebrate my 19 year old son's birthday, as well as serving as a send off for him to the USMC! Our waitress was wonderful and definitely made our first time in a great experience. She was thorough and helpful. She checked in regularly and gave us time to finish our apps before submitting our entree orders. We ordered 3 apps, the steak teaser, arancini di rising, and flash fried oysters. The steak teaser was like butter in your mouth with the toast. Truly amazing. The oysters hit the spot with the Cajun seasoning and the perfect bite over the bed of slaw to give it some freshness. The rice balls were so crisp on the outside, yet so creamy on the inside. That paired so well with the freshly prepared marinara and herbs. Entrees were cavatappi primavera with shrimp add on. The shrimp was incredible and pasta was so flavorful and fresh. It paired so well with my drink order which was the pear and loathing in las varina. It was so good I got a second. My husband got the 12 oz wagyu mid rare. It was done as the Oscar style and he had the Brussels sprouts. I tried his food. Yes, we share! It was melt in your mouth delicate. The sauces complimented every part of the dish and the tomatoes added the best acidic contrast to lift it all up. His drink choice was wuthering berries and yes I tried that too. Wow! Such a great drink. Very in depth with the flavor profile and he had to order a second himself. The rest of my party ordered burgers and one other steak, the filet mignon. Burgers were cooked to order and still juicy. I would've chosen medium rare but they chose medium and medium well, so it was to their liking and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato mash was delicious as well. The filet was ordered medium well but still held so much flavor and juices. Such a great talent for cooking these cooks have. That paired with the waitstaff being so kind, helpful, and super attentive made the evening perfect and one to remember! Id truly give them 10 stars or more if I could!!

The breading was very dark....and so crunchy upon trying. Grew up in VB and I know how good fried oysters should be. Someone knew they left it in too long and was too lazy to toss 4 more in. Then I splurged for the $80 wagyu strip....and as others have said in these reviews....was no where near tender like wagyu should be. My wife's standard filet was way more tender.
